We emailed back and forth to confirm a date and time I could come back to pickup the new sheets. The day of I drove up to their site in Mililani and was surprised how many sheets of grass was extended as an apology. TBH, I was only expecting to pick up a few sheets of grass, but to my surprise and deep gratitude he was kind enough to give me a lot more sheets and again apologized for the last order. Sean and Hawaiian Turfgrass definitely understand the importance of word of mouth referrals and customer appreciation. I will definitely use their services again and refer anyone I know that needs quality grass from a company that stands behind their product. My front yard was struggling, overtaken by weeds, under-watered, and too many grass types in one lawn. He methodically approached my project with a vision that aligned with mine to increase curb appeal. He used product to first kill the yard. Several weeks later after the grass/weeds were lifeless, he mowed, then tilled multiple times to loosen up the old thatch layer. He applied top soil and installed zoysia plugs. Some additional work that he completed was the repair of sprinkler lines to ensure all areas of the yard had good overlapping coverage of watering. He revamped the planter area with some red cinder and installed edging that I selected from Home Depot made of hard rubberized material. Overall, I am thorougly pleased with the final product and would recommend Ernesto Yard Service to family and friends. He is honest, hard-working, and is not out to gouge and make a killing off of you. I'm not sure if this review will be tied to the photos that I posted, but you'll know what I am talking about. I needed an initial clean-up of an extremely…read moreovergrown yard (grass, weeds everywhere, trees out of control); we had previously been using a guy we found on Craigslist a year ago who basically charges $60 to come over every few weeks (whenever he's "in the area", so I have to work around his schedule) just to weed whack everything. I wanted someone to take care of the weeds, cut the grass really short, and keep the trees neat and tidy. They also weren't ever able to haul away anything that wouldn't fit in our green bin, though I did ask them to. Anyway, after Sandro recommended Roland I gave him a call. He was extremely friendly (and more importantly, he speaks English), kinda felt like I was dealing with one of my uncles. He worked around my schedule and initially meant to just come by today to assess the yard to give us an estimate, but since I have family coming in a few days he went ahead and did the work this afternoon. I got lucky!! Our yard was a complete disaster area. Everything was so overgrown and the flowering weeds were attracting tons of bees. The trees had no shape to them and were just wild. Weeds everywhere, coming up from cracks in the brick and cement. He gave us some recommendations on weed maintenance and stuff, and then he saw this stump in the ground and knew what tree it was just by looking at the stump. He agreed to pull out a lot of the weeds, cut the grass, and give the trees a good manicure. We also need some banana trees removed as well as that stump, but he said we can hold off on that since we're on a tight budget right now (in the middle of a renovation). How nice, he doesn't push us to get more money. He gave us a really great estimate, about the same amount as the first guys we had come in to do a clean-up last year, but he did twice the work. Everything just looks amazing. I don't even recognize the yard. I was so embarrassed to have our family come here and see our nasty yard and now a weight is just lifted off my shoulders. He's going to come back every month to keep everything in check and continue to treat the weeds too for a very reasonable price. Again, around the same cost as the last guys for actually 3 times the work. I think one big thing for me is that he speaks English so we have a clear line of communication. I just feel really comfortable with these guys and I haven't been this happy in a long time. I definitely recommend and I'm about to blast this all over my Facebook!

This company was the only one in my area with a Yelp review - and it was a glowing one. So I had high hopes about using them for my job. Unfortunately, I can't endorse them because they never even followed through with providing a formal price quote. The Curb Appeal Specialist rep came to my house one morning and was pleasant and professional. At the end of the visit, I asked him for an approximate price quote. He said "about $2,800." I was a bit surprised, which he noticed, and I explained that I had one other company check out the job. That company had said they'd charge $1,500 - just about half as much. Nonetheless, I was quick to point out that the other company was the only other one which had seen the grounds - and perhaps they were off-base, or not going to provide all that he was, or something along those lines. I said I would still very much like for him to e-mail me a formal price quote; I noted I wanted to make a decision that week. It's Day 10, and I have received nothing (no quote, no e-mail) from this company. I find that rather rude and unprofessional - I had, after all, taken off from work to be there that morning for his visit. Meanwhile, a third company (Total Landscape Management) that visited that same morning has provided a very price quote (with itemized invoice) for the job at around $1,700. Also, when I asked Travis (the president of Total Landscape Management) for a formal price quote for a grounds maintenance contract, he was able to turn that around within 24 hours.
