Came in with my group of 9 on a lazy Sunday morning, just before noon. The place was crazy packed with line ups almost out the door. We called ahead to make a reservation. Arriving only two minutes late, we found that our table had already been given away. Wow. ‍ We waited an extra fifteen minutes for our table from there. After being seated, our very kind waitress was quick to take our drink orders, and promptly came back with them and to take our orders as well. The hot water for some of the tea we ordered came at room temperature but our waitress helped us replace the water and bring us fresh tea bags later on. The waitress came around pretty often to refill our waters and coffee throughout our visit. Yay! I ordered the Fried Chicken Coco Waffles with scrambled eggs and Coco potatoes with half swiss and half cheddar cheese. Those of us who had ordered the potatoes with cheese had requested that the cheese be melted. We were refused by the kitchen with a very hard "no". ‍‍ The potatoes weren't quite hot enough to melt the cheese that was sprinkled on top so eating the cheese that I paid an extra $3 for wasn't quite complimenting the potatoes. But the potatoes themselves were pretty delicious! Everything else on the plate was pretty standard; nothing to rave about. I'd probably go somewhere else for a quick and convenient lunch without a wait.

One of those days i started work later, i made a détour to Allo mon coco on decarie. There was a morning special which is very affordable. I took the fruit, chocolate chip pancake. The fruits are abondant and the pancake is huge. Couldn't finish my plate and it was less than 8$. The service was very good and the place clean.

Reasonable price, quick and friendly service, clean and spacious dining room, gigantic portions of tasty food. I am definitely coming back to eat every item on the menu.

First time at an Allo! Mon Coco chain. Another breakfast place like any other so I don't really have high expectations. Which is fine when all you want is a classic breakfast. I got the two eggs with bacon and was dissatisfied with my eggs. The yolk was almost fully cooked. I like mine runny and this was far from it! The rest of the food on the plate was ok. For 6,50$ (from 6am-9am Monday-Friday) it isn't so bad. Luckily the waitress was really nice and friendly.

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

Food was just okay; foie gras was overly sauced. Service was the main issue. My cappuccino was mostly foam, and the replacement was still charged on the bill. Had to wait for a manager who never showed up until much later, and even then, nothing was resolved--just called it a "miscommunication." Overall, poor service and not worth the trip. Would not recommend.

The bar is first come, first served, so if you forget to book ahead, it's definitely worth trying your luck. You can still order anything from the full menu. The modern, upscale interior sets the tone for a fancy brunch experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. Foie gras for breakfast? Absolutely yes. They also have a full bar for anyone who wants something pretty to sip on while enjoying their meal. The servers were bilingual in French and English, and they were kind, attentive, and made the whole experience smooth from start to finish. My goal was to eat as much foe grais as I can on this trip so I ordered the Foie Gras Poached Eggs. OMG starting off with the bread that was on the bottom, it was so soft and fluffy. Literally melted in my mouth. The foie gras had a beautiful sear and was rich and silky, with a texture that honestly reminded me of ice cream. There was also a touch of sweetness in the sauce that cut through the richness in the best way. Every bite was perfectly balanced. I was super impressed and will absolutely try to visit again the next time I'm in Montreal.
