The Dave's Not Chicken (cauliflower) is delicious. You can get it as a tender, slider, mini slider, loaded fries you name it. It's delicious each time with an adjustable spice level. Haven't gotten to interact with many employees because I usually order on the self serve kiosk which is also a nice option. Always excited when a non-vegetarian-centric place offers a vegetarian option of their core food to give those us with that diet a chance to join in the fun. My son is particularly excited about the many cauliflower options. (Sliders, tenders.) I tried a slider and fries. It's okay. Flavor it good, but in the end it's cauliflower. I'm not against cauliflower as a side dish, but it really doesn't approximate chicken in terms of taste or texture. I understand it's healthier and there's nothing wrong with that...but if I'm going into a place like Dave's Hot Chicken that specializes in fried food, health is not necessarily my top concern for that experience. A good faux-meet, perhaps soy-based...and there are so many options out there for that...would be a much more satisfying experience. The basic, crinkle-cut fries were fine...perhaps a tiny bit overcooked, but I still ate them all. The overall flavors were good...if they upped the ante on the vegetarian option with something that better simulated chicken, I'd be as excited as my son was and frequent a lot more. read more

I appreciate that they offer the cauliflower as an option! They took it off the menu for a while. The staff was very nice! The place has high foot traffic so always seems a bit on the dirty side and their bathroom was broken and being fixed when I was there. (Nothing like eating while the bathroom door is open and they are snaking the toilet... The food is very heavy, high in calories and overall hard to justify eating. The prices are also very expensive. It's not a place I will frequent often but if you need that fried food experience it's worth a consideration. read more

For food, I had the Dave's Not Chicken Cauliflower slider and I really enjoyed it, honestly more than I've enjoyed their chicken before. Was in the mood for chicken strips so I stopped by Dave's Hot Chicken in Northridge. I ordered a two tender combo. The combo however, did not include a drink FYI. That's fine, I just ended up ordering a small drink. First impressions: I was impressed by the size of the tenders- they were huge! They were perfectly seasoned and the chicken was fresh. You can tell it had just been prepared and it wasn't sitting out long like other food places tend to do. The fries were fine, they were super fried. I tend to prefer mine not as crispy but they were still really good, especially with the "Dave's sauce" that comes with it. I was ecstatic to see how generous they are with the side of pickles, perfect addition to an already delicious meal. Service was excellent, they were very friendly and attentive which I truly appreciate because these days all we get are Gen Z stares when we ask questions (lol, kidding, but not really). She genuinely seems to enjoy her job which says a lot these days. I took my order to go. I ordered the #4 which is one chicken slider with fries (mild and I requested no seasoning on the fries). The fries were really good and the portion was plentiful. The chicken was very tender. I was hoping for more slaw on the sandwich. There were only a couple pieces of slaw and a bunch of pickles. Dave's is a very popular place with a very long line for a Monday night but the lines went fairly quick. There are also a lot of delivery drivers picking up. The staff is very friendly. Plenty of outside seating that is kept clean and the chairs are comfortable. Parking lot is a medium size but there is plenty of street parking. read more

Very disappointing 1. Cold 2 small slider. I could not even see the cauliflower. More bread and coleslaw than anything else. 3. I think I got 10-12 pieces of fries. 4. $18.00 5. No cups for water. No option for a regular cup to make up for the lack of water cups. 6. Out of mozzarella sticks. Just went to chilies across the street. Love this place and will continue to come here although my recent visit yesterday afternoon was a bit of a weird one? Decided to try their new "saucy bites" but when I got home, there was no sauce at all. When our order was called for pickup, we waited a few extra minutes because she was waiting for the bites (maybe they forgot it in our order or something). Got the hot honey teriyaki bites and it looked dry as a bone. I was skeptical because we didn't get any extra sauces, thinking I wouldn't need it. Turns out the hot honey was at the bottom but only very little, couldn't even dip anything. No sign of teriyaki, sadly. Poor management! The staff is working very hard so no issues there. But I waited one hour and ten minutes for food that I had ordered online. No issues with the food, but it's unbelievable that no manager was available to monitor the foot traffic. Why wasn't a manager on site to provide a coupon or something to the many people that had to endure these ridiculous wait times? Fast food? Everytime I come to Dave's, it's amazing. The chicken is crispy, juicy, and had a lot of flavor. The spice level was actually enjoyable and not just hot for no reason. Food is over-priced freezer tenders they charge you more for because it's spicy. Fries are limp and not crisp. The place is always busy and has a ton of people. Very little parking in the lot and hardly ever a spot on the street. Dont go here. Definitely dont order delivery from here unless you want your food given away to random people.
