Time to paid the bill and he quoted me over 200.00. I told the technician that I was quoted 159.00. He said because it was a front loader it was 189.00 plus tax. I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am a women and a senior citizen. I will never call or do business with Marc's appliances again. I don't like being cheated.

My experience was classic bait and switch. Ordered a 48" range online at an excellent (but not…read moreunique) price, website claimed it was in stock and that I would need to pick it up at their West Hartford warehouse. Got a confirmation E-mail stating order would be "processed once payment was confirmed" (odd, since CC payments are generally automated these days). Next day, I got what appeared to be an automated E-mail (no name or phone number, DoNotReply sender) stating that their "policy" was that I would need to come to their store in person to confirm identity & credit card, and that the item was a special order (not in stock after all, I guess!). Since it's a 4-hour drive each way, going there twice defeats the purpose of an online order... When I called to try to clear things up, "Jack" told me the item was not in stock and that there appeared to be a pricing error (more alarm bells start up in my head). After consulting with his manager, he did call me back, to tell me that the part number is not on the Kitchenaid site, so they can't even order it, and they don't have it in stock. I just went back on their site, and they still list that exact part number listed (KFID948SJP), but at a much, much higher price, of course. When I expressed my displeasure and asked to speak to a manger, it went to voice mail. The only excuse offered was "the website is pretty automated". I get that mistakes happen, but reputable stores make some effort to make it right with the customer. A retail store is responsible for their advertised pricing.

At least one major appliance cost more than it's "big chain" competition, but I try to do business with smaller shops like Quimby's. The appliances so far are mostly satisfactory. When I had a problem with one, however, the owner did not follow up when requested and instead I was treated very poorly over a simple misunderstanding related to delivery. I do not deserve to be spoken to so rudely and disrespectfully for any reason - especially at these prices.

I had two experiences which Whirlpool washer I purchased four years ago, First one is about the door lock, error code was E01 F03, I looked after the solution by googling and YouTube. That thing was not easy when you encounter first time, I called them the service, Bob came in same day, he fixed for me, I paid because, the time was just passed the warranty period. The second time was happened just couple of days ago. This time was not the door issue but about the drain pump which is not working. I called them, and they scheduled me next day, then they ordered the pump and fixed the next day, it costs me about two hundreds which include the cost of service and the pump. I called the other service center for the repair, when I was waiting. They said, they will charge me $99.00 even though there is no repair. Maybe, I try to show that what is the better option to choose when you have similar occasion. I suggest their Good service and better timing. Thanks Bob.

First of all, this is not the formally known, Carl's appliance. This company was bought out after…read morepoor Carl passed away in February 2019. The new owners definitely did not provide the same service. When I booked my service,, I asked them if there was any way I could be put down for the first or second stop of the day. I needed to go to work, and it was still a few days away. They told me that was not a problem. The service technician did not show up until 12:40 PM! The first time I called at 9:30, the lady on the phone made no apologies; she basically said "that's the way it is". I understand when you're working with a time window, customers may ask to be put first, but all they had to say was no we cannot do that. Instead they told me they could when obviously they had no intention of doing that. I don't appreciate getting. reprimanded from my boss about a dishwasher repair. The technician, Brian, arrived and was pleasant. The reason for my service, was my dishwasher was not draining. I explained this to the office when I booked my service call. Brian took off the drain hose first. When he did that there was a very big clog at the end of the drain hose. I saw that and said, "Could that be the reason why it's not draining?" He said "I'm not sure" It seem to me this was an easy fix. He proceeded to take the floor plate off of the dishwasher and unscrew it from the countertop. He turned the dishwasher on, said it sounded loud. I told him that was normal for this dishwasher. He did not try to run a cycle to see if unclogging the drain hose would solve the issue. Instead, he quoted me almost $300 to change the drain hose and install a new drain pump. He reconnected the drain hose to make sure there was no leaks, so I could run my garbage disposal. My drain hose is only a couple years old because I just got a new garbage disposal. I was surprised he did not have parts in his truck. He said he would have to come back another day. He said he only had Whirlpool parts even though they asked me the brand of my dishwasher on the phone and it seems to me that's a common part to have to replace. He did not replace the screws that he removed. Once he left, I ran a cycle through, and it worked! Back to normal! I saved myself over $300 for a repair that I did not need. If I hadn't seen that clog myself I would have just believed him and spent way more money than I needed to. Seems like a dishonest practice to me. Make your own judgments, but I will not be using them again.

That was NOT in the agreement, I was suppose to have NO fees as long as I paid in full for 6 months. I have budgeted for 6 months and on my 3rd statement I have a statement fee. I was never told I would get a fee for having a statement and P.C. RICHARDS didn't want to help me. For a Family owned business they really don't care about their customers. I in the past bought a washer and dryer from them and knowing how important to me is to buy local and family owned, my next purchase of a Refrigerator and dishwasher or anything else will not be purchased there because they are not honest people and they do not care. So please go elsewhere if you want a company with real customer service. I just don't want anyone else to get lied to like I did. Thank you if you read this. If I help even one person from going through what they put me through this was worth it.

Alright, let's see how much I can remember from my original review that I sent to their site and…read morethey won't post (AF doesn't post reviews below 4 star) My dishwasher purchase is my first and last from American Freight. I bought a scratch and dent unit and, despite their final sale policy, I was assured that AF performs in-house tests and the units work as intended. After hooking up the unit and checking all ports, the dishwasher leaked. There was a seam in the drum that was damaged or defective and was leaking water from the side panel. IF they actually test ran this unit, they would not have been able to miss this leak. I called AF 4 times that day because of this issue (I called a 5th time because of another question that never was answered). Call 1: I tell them the unit is leaking from the side panel, not a port. The associate, J, doesn't have an answer and the manager was on break so they would need to call me back. I wait an hour and call back (break should be done and I haven't heard anything) Call 2: J tells me to call KitchenAid because the unit is still under warranty. I know from working in manufacturing that this isn't KA's problem, but I call anyway. KA tells me that the warranty doesn't cover this issue. I call the store back. Call 3: I tell J that KA doesn't cover this issue. He tells me he needs to talk to the manager and will call me back. I wait a few hours and call back. Call 4: I ask J, he answered, what is going on. He states they are working on trying to find me a comparable replacement unit and will call me when they find something. Why didn't they call me to tell me this? Who knows. Well, that was 3 weeks ago now. I haven't gotten 1 phone call from them. They have my information. I was left with a dishwasher that doesn't work and I am not allowed to return. They just told me what I wanted to hear and completely blew me off. AF offers a warranty and I can't imagine that they help ANYONE with issues with how my experience went. These calls were 2 days after I bought the unit. If you are looking for scratch and dent appliances I highly recommend Western Mass Appliance (they didn't have any KA's in the weeks I called them) they are a small business run by local people.

Zero stars. Scary, abusive installation process. This store has no business selling Miele or any…read moreother high end appliances. During the process of installing a $2K dishwasher, the installer complained about one thing after another - first, he couldn't get one of the hoses out; then he wasn't sure he'd be able to install the cabinet panel. He became agitated when I tried to wipe off residual styrofoam pieces from the side of the dishwasher before he installed it, and he ordered me to, "get out of [his] work area." When I explained that I was just wiping off the styrofoam pieces, he said, "I have kids to pick up, get out of my work area or I'll leave; this isn't my main job anyway." When finished, he left me with a leaking pipe and told me to call a plumber. He denied damaging the pipe and claimed it was old and ready to crack. When met with skepticism, he told me, "f*** you" and "go F*** yourself." When I contacted the owner of Salemi Appliances, a man who identified himself as "Vincent," he defended the installer by stating that he had never had any complaints about him, and therefore I must have provoked him into being abusive. Two days later, a licensed plumber came to look at the leak and said that it was clearly from the work that the dishwasher installer did, which he said was not consistent with MA plumbing code. So either the installer is incompetent or he intentionally did an incompetent job. Women should be extremely cautious about buying anything at this store or allowing them to send someone into their homes. Spend your money elsewhere. And always look at the "lowest" reviews - you can't really verify who's giving the high reviews - relatives, friends, employees, who knows.
