I called Ron out because I saw that my dryer sparked and stopped working. I was quoted $150 plus parts. When Ron checked out my dryer he said it was not working because it was not grounded properly and the charge would be $280 to fix it. He did not use any parts only rewired the back of the dryer. Right after he left it did the same thing and sparked again. He came out the next day and said the heating element was bad and it would be another $200 in parts to fix it. He should have known this upon the first inspection and overcharged me $130 and also will not reimburse me for the repair he didn't do since I paid cash. Ron was fantastic. We called at closing time Thursday with a broken Samsung washer that was almost new probably a few months past the warranty expiration of one year. Surprise. We asked for service at the soonest service possible on Friday. Please keep in mind that it's almost impossible to get appliance service during a snowstorm on a non emergency appliance. Almost everyone booked a week out at least and not budging. Not only did Ron do us the favor of squeezing us in. He provided a 3 hour window and even though it was definitely a two man job he somehow got it done and provided a 30 day warranty. My oven went out and with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I was a bit panicky. My stove is only 6 years old and cost a pretty penny so I did not want to go out and buy a new stove. My refrigerator stopped cooling and it turning out to be a compressor issue. All Area Appliance is one of the few repair services that can do this work. Our refrigerator stopped working. We were pretty confidant it was the compressor and expressed this in our call to AAA. Ron told us the only way to confirm was for him to come out. The cost for a service call was $62.50. When he got here, he told us everything looked good so he would need to run an additional $122.50 test to confirm the compressor. We ended up spending $185.00 to confirm our compressor was out. Had we known that, we never would have scheduled this appointment. We feel strongly, we should have been told about the additional charge during the original call since we had asked to specifically have the compressor checked. They seemed decent enough, but after the fact they have been horrible. They came out to fix the augur in our ice machine which required replacing a wiring harness for everything. They shorted the main board in the fridge out causing our ice maker to no longer work. We haven't had ice for 3 months because after the $325 repair they did is going to cost us $1000 to replace the components they damaged. Rather than have a conversation, Ron immediately pushed back and acquitted himself of any fault and went on the extreme defensive and said I can't prove it. While I finally had him offer to refund my money, that doesn't help with the additional almost $700 in damage they did. read more

There are few things worse when your appliance break down; you expect to put clothes in the dryer and nothing! And of course it is out of warranty. I was refereed to Ron at All Area Appliance (AAA); he was able to come out the next day and quickly and efficiently he diagnosed the problem, he had the parts on his van and had us back up and working within the hour. AAA was on time, very professional, cleaned up after his service and his price was reasonable. Ron actually provided an estimate over the phone based on what we thought it might be (belts & pulley in Samsung front load dryer) his estimate was very good and there was no "up selling" when he arrived.
