Then he did his magic and suddenly my refrigerator was working like new. Dmytro showed me the condenser and it was disgustingly dirty. He cleaned that up to like new. High City Appliance charges $69 for first appliance and $34 for the second one. We called and set up a time and date for them to diagnose. The window was 9-12 pm. As we do, schedules get rearranged and it was 11:25 am and still no communication from High City Appliance. I call to follow-up and customer service tells me they will follow-up. A couple of minutes later, I receive a text from their technician and he says he is 25 minutes away. He arrives at 11:57 am. He did wear shoe covers upon entering and after spending about 30 minutes in our laundry room, he shares the issues with our appliances. To replace the parts and labor the cost would be about $715. The estimate included parts and labor and labor was over $200/hour. That seemed pretty steep. If we decided to move forward, the diagnostic charge would be credited, but still very costly. After having to follow up and waiting for the technician to arrive, then receiving his quote, it was a disappointing experience. The technician also wanted to charge me $59 for the second appliance, but quickly corrected him of the quoted price that customer service shared upon making the appointment. I would strongly reconsider calling High City Appliance in the future should we have appliance issues.
