He even brought back a space heater later that day to keep the baby's room warm overnight - ABOVE AND BEYOND SERVICE. Mike came back exactly when he said he would the next day, walked me through what he was going to do, and then did it. When he was done, he tested it, cleaned and vacuumed, and gave us warranty, invoice, and user's manual. But, the guy wasn't listening to me, give me this five page estimate that you needed a law degree to get through. Then, the guy tries to put a hard sell on me, which left me cold. Plus, there price was high, so I went with Atlas who was very professional. Finally, I did a bit of research and found out that Hassler was bought out a few years ago by Seer, a group that now owns 23 HVAC contractors.

What I appreciated most was that he didn't just start replacing parts. He thoroughly diagnosed the system, explained what he was testing, and walked me through the results. He showed me that the capacitor was testing low, the contactor was worn and pitted, and even performed a megger test on the compressor to verify it was still healthy. After the repairs, he confirmed everything was working properly by showing me the compressor amperage had dropped back to normal and that the system had an 18-degree temperature split. Keon was patient with all of my questions and never made me feel rushed. He explained the pros and cons of the recommended repairs, including the hard-start kit, so I could make an informed decision instead of feeling pressured. I really appreciated his transparency and professionalism. By the time he was done, our AC was cooling properly again, and he even worked with us on the final price. I wanted a second opinion so I contacted Honrath & Stacey. They sent Joey and an assistant, and he said they could make the repairs using parts in the van. Total cost was 1/4 the repair cost quoted by the first guys and it took a little over an hour. H&S charges $189 for the visit, minimum. The first place charged $89. Draw your own conclusions, but I think $89 is a loss-leader price not reflective of actual costs. You get what you pay for
