Jim is so nice it's hard to leave the shop. He sold me a great vacuum almost 2 years ago and that was a great experience. I just left the shop again to have him inspect and repair that same vacuum because I was too harsh on it and messed it up. The best part is that he didn't make me feel bad about it - but rather taught me how I could maintain it better for superior longevity. It's not "as good as it gets" because he's the best in Palm Beach County. Don't be intimidated by the zip code. No matter what side of the bridge you're on, All Brand right in the center of Palm Beach has the best customer service. The price is the same - not inflated as you might suspect, as almost everything else in Palm Beach is (including the egos and the pretentiousness.) The difference with All Brand is the outstanding personal customer service. The owner is in every day, and he is personable, helpful and knows his product lines. This is who you should buy your vacuum from if you're uncertain of what you're looking for in size, capacity and value. There is also the largest selection of Lampberger lamps and oils I have ever seen. Again, the price is the same, but more bang for your buck because he has fragrances I normally have to order online and it takes forever. His amount of stock surprised me. He sells quality vacuums, quite a few made in Europe, not China, like your typical big box store shills. Terrible. I was sent here by Dyson--because they're the local authorized service center--when my four-month old DC-50 gave me a problem. Parking is iffy, so use the lot just past the store. Dropped it off for a SIMPLE repair, which I showed to the owner, Jim, when I handed it off: the lever that locks the two rear support feet down and shifts the vacuuming into the hose when the base is upright came off the pivot point because the rivet holding it on went through the pivot hole, and that lever fell off its place. Because of that the vacuum only worked through the floor intake, and the hose became unusable. All it required was a refastening, or a replacement of the assembly. After 10 days, I called. Was told it's not ready yet. Called again at two weeks, and Jim says, "I'm waiting for a part," and follows up with what equated to "don't call me, I'll call YOU when it's done." I have four cats, so--being ankle-deep in cat hair--I called Dyson Customer Service in Chicago. Dyson is polite, puts me on hold and calls Jim. He tells them that he's waiting for a part, that it should be two to three days until it comes in and he'll fix it and get it back to me within two days afterward. Why he didn't ask Dyson to expedite/overnight the part to him is anyone's guess. Another FULL WEEK goes by, and now I'm livid. I call Dyson again. After a half hour of ongoing civil & calm debate, they agree with my request to replace the vacuum with a new one. Dyson tells me to pick up my machine & take it to UPS' local store, where there's a waiting order in my name to pack the vacuum up and ship it to them. I go to All Brands and Jim doesn't want to hand over the machine. He TWICE refuses, telling me that HE is the one that's supposed to send vacuums back to Dyson (which Dyson later informs me is a bald-faced lie, that they ALWAYS have the customer take their own machine to a UPS office for proper packing & shipping back,) Jim starts questioning me as to "where do they want you to ship it?" As if I'm a liar! At that point I impliedly threaten that if he doesn't give me my vacuum, I'll involve the authorities to retrieve my property. THEN he decides to hand it over--but can't find it right off. When he DOES give it over, I inspect it and see the small scotch tape piece that I put on the removable cap where the lever assembly resides has NEVER BEEN DISTURBED! This guy NEVER EVEN opened the vacuum cleaner up! AVOID THIS S#%$HOLE LIKE THE PLAGUE! If you need Dyson repairs in South Florida, call Dyson in Chicago and insist that you want it sent to their repair facility in Tampa--and use me as your reason! I filed a detailed complaint with Dyson over this man's incompetence and lack of honesty, so they very well might kick him to the curb and contract with someone else to be their authorized dealer. Kudos to Dyson if they do--and thanks to them for doing the right thing, and replacing my vacuum after this ridiculous mess. They showed me that they value both their customers AND their reputation. read more

After being disappointed with the Shark Rocket 350, my honey asked me if I'd be able to "look" into it. Powering it on produced zero suction. I thought to myself that damn it, this really sucks. Having had a little bit of experience in general with vacuum cleaners, I started to analyze the workings of the Shark. (In mano-y-mano terms that means I started taking that sucker apart - piece by piece, pulley by pulley, screw by screw...) Bagless vacuums were invented over 100 years ago and they were migraine disappointments then and they still are. Unless you have a hermetic seal, air/dust will find it's way to the source. Yup, you can clean/clear all the hoses and all the filters but you can't get access (with normal tools) to the most important filter and that is the one right in front of the motor at the air intake. This is where the microscopic dust sneaks its way against your intake filter, deprives it of air, dramatically decreases or stops the suction, forces overheating and eventually kills your motor. Google indicated to me that there was a vacuum repair shop (I was dying to find out how an expert would get to the air intake filter without destroying that machine) just a few blocks away and so I brought my sick Shark and healthy Honey and we met Jim - in spite of a very negative review about this man and his business. Jim had an affable personality loaded with tons of experience. When he looked at the Shark he voiced pretty well my trepidation and said that it wasn't worth fixing. When I asked for counseling for a replacement of a vacuum cleaner that would be getting a 15 minute a week work out (don't get in front of me people - with 2 dogs, we broom sweep often) he offered a rebuilt vacuum cleaner for under $50 - together with a ready to go bag and coupled with a 3 month warranty. (Warranties on bagless are none or lame and they often expire before the machine does.) The little Lady has been giving that machine a run for its money and she is very pleased; it even picked up dog hair. Ouch. I too am happy because I'll finally be able to get to the intake filter and scrutinize it much more closely. I figured out an easy tool to get to it - it's called a sledgehammer. Jim was professional, polite, and effective and was especially appreciated for not even once try to jam down our throats a really expensive machine. If we ever need another vacuum cleaner or service, he'll command our attention. In the meanwhile, while I'm writing this review, my honey is still vacuuming; perhaps in the spirit of Christmas I'll generously break down and surrender the title to her as a gift. read more

I bought a vacuum out of state and brought it to Jim to look at. He not only looked at it and didn't charge me to tell me what was wrong with it, he fixed it within 24hours. He has the knowledge about cleaning products that I have ever seen and I have homes worldwide. This is my only stop for cleaning products and repairs when I am here in Palm Beach. I brought my Miele 300 Quartz canister in for a cut cord repair to replace the cord. My maid got the cord stuck in a sliding door. My husband told Jim to tune it up if needed. My husband paid $356.22 for the repair!!! A new Miele is $299. My Miele is 7 years old. Jim replaced the whole cord mechanism charging $179.99 for the part and $59.95 for the labor. We were never told the price to repair an old vac was more than a new one. I feel I should have been told this before the repair was made as I would have bought a new vacuum. I was also charged $89.99 for an overhaul. Lesson learned. I will never return or recommend. read more

I've had a terrible experience with this store and it's owner. I would never purchase another thing from this store. I have spent over $500 on vacuum cleaners in the past year. The last one I bought from him cost me $350 and broke with in 5 months. When I took it back his only advice was to pay $100 to fix it or exchange it for another model with costs $850!!!!! When I asked about the Dyson products in his store, he explained they are awful products and people only buy them because they fall for the advertisements on TV. When I called him to discuss fixing the vacuum with I had left at his store, he hung up on me after i told him I was disappointed with the vacuum he sold me and the service he provided. Maybe it's not a lot of money for the the residents of Palm Beach Island, but i feel like I just threw $350 down the drain. Buyer beware!! read more

Jim is very knowledgeable and friendly. He understands the competitive markets of the brands he sells and services. While shopping for a vaccum I was in the market for a Dyson, which I saw doesnt clean as good as people think. Parts are hard to sometimes get, they are not not too durable, and they are not good performers for the money/investment. They, however, are marketed as popular and highend. I ended up buying a Simplicity S40P Upright and couldn't be happier. Jim explained that It comes with a free limited service plan from the manufacturer that takes care of the maintenance items (filters) and also tuneups. Plus it also has an 8 year warranty on the entire vacuum! Parts are easy to get and the brand is very well made in the USA. This vaccum and brand are in their own class. It grooms our carpets as it thouroughly cleans them. It is very solid and feels great to use. The Simplicity S40P is the Rolls Royce of Vaccuums and Jim sells them as well as other affordable brands that outperform and will outlast the more well known Big Box Store brands! Stop in his store and see for yourself what will work best for your needs and budget! read more
