Ever since I got a job outside of the the confines of downtown Seattle I've searched in vain for a coffee shop that doesn't make me feel like a total loser/suburbanite. In that vein All City Coffee definitely meets the need. You've got your assortment of Georgetown regulars with the requisite tattoos, dreadlocks and piercings - but also neighborhood blue collar types and the occasional "tech professional" (I use that term loosely) like myself. Cool art, eclectic selection of music too. But wait, you say, where's the review of the coffee. It's good, if not great, every time I go here. I've never had a poorly pulled shot. I've had cold drinks, hot drinks, a sampling of the pastry (which is all fine). All served with just the right amount of espress-fueled barista attitude. My only complaint is that during busy times the staff moves at the same pace (I suppose that's how they maintain quality) and there's rarely enough staff to keep up with demand, so you can wait a while. read more

So nice to find a delicious coffee shop in Georgetown area that's not Starbucks and even open on Sundays. Love the chill, rustic, old time vibe. I did find it unique my cappuccino came in a tall glass? I kind of like my coffee in ceramic :/ The pumpkin bread thing was pretty good. read more

I like my coffee shops like I like my coffee (like I like my men?): MINIMALIST. I don't add anything to my coffee. Ever. The Beastie Boys once sang to me, "I like my sugar with coffee and cream." I converted -- I went from drinking sugar with coffee and cream to literally... just drinking coffee. The coffee here is very good. (Though I will qualify my statement by saying that I do order caffe lattes, but I never touch the beverage once it has been handed to me over the counter.) Something about entering a space with zero wall decor, save for the artistic event announcements and posters adorning the structural columns, gives me great joy. The barista was so friendly and I must apologize for the impending caps but the sheer fact that All City serves NUTELLA BRIOCHES (is that the correct plural form?) is enough to have me returning. It helps that I am also an avid Georgetown neighborhood fan and supporter. Plus, the combination of classical music playing during my visit and retro kitchen appliance display blew my mind. So many good things to write about -- so little time and not enough nutella brioches to make a woman happy. read more

I live on the southside and All city is the closest real coffee shop for me to get to. I have been going here for at least 3 years now and there is only one barista who knows what I drink. Hooray for you curly haired lady! Still don't know my name...community? What I dislike is.... all the damn dogs, just because you have one doesn't mean you need to have it in the shop! or let it in the shop for that matter. Music is usually to loud and no one ever says bye or thank you! Can't go wrong with Vita, if there was another shop close I would give it a try. read more

Moved out of the neighborhood and apparently once they stop recognizing you here, you'll get the cold shoulder. I took my friend visiting from Arizona after raving about all my great All City memories only to feel a chill as soon as we opened the door. We figured it might be an off day so we continued to the counter to place our order, but we soon regretted ever visiting. Not only did the girl taking our order scowl at us like we were yesterday's trash, but she also got my friend's name AND drink order wrong. The barista on duty (not the ice queen who took our order) was was nice about it when my friend asked for the correct drink, but somehow the wrong drink was made again. She dared to ask for a correction one more time and the third order was still not what she had asked for. An Iced Vanilla Latte isn't exactly the most unusual of orders so I am not sure what went wrong. The cherry on top was that my soy latte wasn't as good as I had remembered. I should have left this place just a memory. read more

I came here for the first time today and loved it! My latte was awesome, with thick foam - although the barista accidentally made me a 20 oz. when I ordered a 12 oz. No big deal though - it made for a really productive afternoon! The space doesn't seat a ton of people - there's a big common table, a couple smaller ones that seat 4 and a couch in the corner. The prime seats are the tables that seat 2 that are by the big windows, though - lots of light (the whole space is bright and well-lit, actually) and directly adjacent to power outlets. The free, fast wi-fi is nice. The thing that really made it for me, though, was being able to get a glimpse of the planes on final approach to Boeing Field. I'm kind of a unabashed plane geek, and was admittedly giddy to see all kinds - lots of UPS MD-11s, a couple of new 787-9s performing flight testing, and a few 737s still sporting their protective green coating, awaiting their airline liveries. It all made for me being distracted every few minutes, but it was a very welcome distraction. If you were so inclined, you could put in your headphones and it wouldn't be bothersome at all. read more

Oof, what a weird coffee shop set-up. Two of us were looking for a quick stop for breakfast and coffee. This place came up as being near us, and it looked decent enough, so we decided to pop a squat here recently. It was a Saturday morning, and the place was decently crowded. We ordered a couple of coffee-based drinks, a pastry, and a sandwich. I thought it was really odd that it's up to the customers to make their own panini using a press on the sidebar. I'm all for doing things myself, but spending 5-10 minutes with the press is pushing it a little. Plus, the service overall was cold and unfriendly. Like others have said, finger-pointing is the chosen method when answering any customer question. It's pretty impersonal. Even after all of that, the pastry was pretty tasty. It was slightly sweet and huge. The drinks were also decent. Plus, the space itself is full of larger tables if you need to spread out your books/stuff. Bottom line: if the service improves, I could see this place getting even more business than it already does. The food and drink are pretty good! read more

I come here to hang out and get work done when I make trips to the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization up the street, and it's a good place to kill time, drink good coffee, and take advantage of the free wifi. However, I feel like the prices are a bit steep for what you get, and they try to nickel and dime you. PROS: 1. Good coffee 2. Good wifi 3. Free parking out front (it's Georgetown, though, so what do you expect) CONS: 1. Minimum $10 purchase on credit/debit card, or else face the $0.30 surcharge. I find this demanding, given that it's a coffee place with nothing but coffee, bagels, and muffins. In order to spend $10, I would need to buy a large coffee with all the extra milks and syrups, bagels, and muffins. 2. Only two outlets in the whole place. I'd come again. But I'd bring cash and a fully charged laptop. read more

Best coffee in Seattle. The baristas are always pleasant and polite and they make great coffee efficiently. I feel like this is something that's hard to find up here in coffee nation...you either get sub-par coffee quickly or an amazing cup that takes 30 minutes because your barista is supa busy making elaborate foam art in it. All City strikes this balance well...and you even get a basic leaf in your foam if that is important to you :) I wish they would open up an All City in Ballard or Phinney, though I suppose that may take away part of its charm. read more

I come here often by necessity, and until today had never had an employee smile or show any basic politeness to me. I bumped my review a star because, finally, an employee actually smiled at me (I was stunned-- thanks to the barista who I won't identify for fear she'll be fired for smiling-- I also heard her say thank you to a different patron-- her time here is clearly limited). I know smiling isn't cool and all, but as somebody who's spending money here it's nice to experience simple human decency at a business. If the outlet situation was fixed, and if I could count on the employees consistently being at the very least nice, this business would be profoundly improved. As it stands now, it's simply the only place in Georgetown proper to get a good cup of coffee. This is my new place to work when I'm not at the office. They have wifi, great seating areas and awesome coffee. They even carry some great bottled beverages like bibi cafe. Yum. And if you are an airplane fanatic like my boyfriend, the best part is the location. You can see the bellies of plane after plane as they go in for a landing at boeing. Oh, and I love the music they play - last time I was there some old Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog came on. And as a dog friendly place, seeing everyone's pooches playing around made working on the weekend quite enjoyable. I dropped a star for a relatively early closing time. I'd love to be able to come here in the evening. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to limit my after hours work times to 7pm. Darn. :-) read more

Location is key. If you're on foot and somewhere in the southern end of downtown, All City Coffee is a great place to kick back and relax with a little brew & coffee. Driving? Somewhat of a pain in the arse to get to, especially if you're trying to find parking between 3PM-7PM when 3rd Ave is closed to general public. I was stopped by police thinking that I could make it down 3rd one block to take a left. The two floor seating area is unique. Lighting upstairs is a little too dark for reading at night. Although the place feel quite large with high ceilings and tall windows, I thought there could have been a few more extra tables / chairs for customers. Reviews for coffee? Not here. Reviewing coffee quality in Seattle is like trying to review bottled water in the desert. But hey, there are little cupcakes here, a bit on the dry side, but something to wash down with coffee, juice, etc. read more

Very cool physical space, with some of the worst espresso I've had in Seattle. Ordered a macchiato: milk that was scalding hot, very thin not rich like Espresso Vivace and espresso that was acidic (under roasted). Cool spot though, if I come back I'd have to order an iced drink or water. read more

I've been here a handful of times but am not wild about it. The coffee's just alright and the tea great. The atmosphere is Spartan and lacking...though maybe that's Georgetown's M.O. Didn't really feel relaxed or comfortable enough to spend the whole day there telecommuting. Nice service, just not cozy. Also, they made ME cook the panini I had just ordered on a press, which I thought was weird, given that I'd never used a panini press nor did I know how long to cook it for. read more

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Seattle. The staff is always nice and efficient (they can tell a joke a make a drink at the same time). I like the atmosphere. There are high ceilings with big windows that face the street and let in plenty of light. The walls are decorated with art from local artists, stuff that I actually want to buy. Besides the occasional iced tea I drink black coffee. They have a smooth blend. One of the better drips around. Free wi-fi is nice as well. read more

We almost didn't go in cause we were so intimidated by the coffee house punk rock patrons hanging out outside who gave very obvious eye rolls to BF and I when I locked up our rental car(yes, it automatically honks when I lock it using the keyless entry, it's out of my control- so sue me!). BUT- we did go in... and we did get vanilla lattes. And they were... awesome. The barista wasn't the friendliest but I dug the communal tables... and the high ceiling and the music, and the vibe in general. And a cafe located immediately next door to one of the coolest comic shop/record stores I've ever had the pleasure of visiting? I'd definitely regulate if I lived here. read more

Come for the coffee and stay for the ambiance. The people watching and art in the Georgetwon neighborhood can't not be beat. People are for real here and totally out of the box. They have free wi-fi and I actually witnessed someone bring in her entire desk top system and set up camp. Now that's deadication. I love the funky vibe and artsy without apologies atmosphere. I am challenged with creative projects regularly and in a funk this is a must stop for a caffine boost and shot of art straight up. read more

Decided to try a new coffee shop with a friend. This place was located on a corner in georgetown..parking wasnt too bad. Lots nearby. I ordered an iced white chocolate mocha. The coffee Gods have blessed me once again. Oh help me God, God and baby Jesus! Working in Georgetown, I thought the only place to get anything besides drip coffee was lame-o Starf*ckers, until I noticed one day on my drive home along Airport Way South, this lovely little place. I think I saw it many times before, it just never registered until just recently. Probably because of the lack of a decent cup of coffee to get me through the day. Well, not anymore! I've been in here quite a bit lately, and every time, I walk out a satisfied customer. I usually just get drip coffee, I know what I wrote above, but my second time at the shop they were all out of drip coffee so the barista offered to make me an Americano instead. Needless to say, it was delicious, since then, a tall Americano has been my drink of choice. I still have yet to try one of their wide selection of pastries, but it's just a matter of time before it goes down. The people who work here seem angsty, yet hip. Georgetown perfection at it's finest. I love it, and I love their coffee. Drink up, buttercup! read more

Stopped in for a cuppa coffee after having brunch at Brass Tacks 'round the corner. My skinny mocha was delicious and served at a proper temperature which was a nice change of pace because Seattle baristas seem to always have issues getting the coffee to the appropriate temperature. The space is light and open. There were a few MacBook'ers pounding away on their keyboards. If this place was not so far away from my homestead, I'd be there daily because I (a) love free parking and (b) love good coffee. There's a wall to your far left when you enter this place that is covered in lueon with a craptacular old-ass couch squatting in front of it. And on this wood-paneled wall is a Polaroid of the wall and the couch. It's so hideous it's awesome! Sitting with my back to the rest of the shop and the windows it reminded me of the 70s and the basements where the local teens read porn and smoked out. There's even some wood shelves with dog-eared books and magazines and guitars to the right of this seating area. This is where we killed the last 30 or so minutes before heading to Mix at Christoff Gallery to see some friends perform. Ian and Roth played chess while Jen and I caught up. We indulged in some vegan cupcakes: one chocolate and one lemon - both damn tasty and full of flavor. I had a chai (spicy but not watery like Peet's) while Ian chugged a mocha. Good coffee and decent munchies. As for chai, I prefer the sweetness of Oregon Chai but they use Morning Glory here and I was surprisingly happy with the milk/chai ratio -- it was earthy, spicy, aromatic, and extra hot (just like I asked) but it wasn't bitter or dirt-tasting like poorly-mixed Morning Glory tastes to me. I love that doggies are welcome and will bring mine sometime, but I do hope that the dog owners behave responsibly (no bad dogs, just bad owners). The open concept, fishbowl layout isn't my personal *thang* at all and it's not a place I'd want to hang out for long periods of time, but I definitely appreciate the homeyness and industrial appeal. Love this little gem in the heart of Georgetown. Beautiful older building with what looks like a mid-century update. (VERY COOL). The guy behind the bar was super friendly and was easy to talk to, made a pretty solid espresso drink for me. Sat outside to chat as we watched the world go by, and there is an interesting crowd in that area! People watching on a whole new level! Highly recommended! read more

Came in here to kill some time while waiting for brunch. Cute coffee shop with lots of lighting from open windows as it sits on a corner. Got a soy latte and it was really nice and smooth! I really enjoyed it and my go to drink when I try out new places. The one gripe I have is that there's not enough seating. It was a packed Sunday morning and we were waiting around for people to leave. It's a nice space and I think they can utilize it with a little more seating. read more

This is in my top 15 coffee shops. I like finding these local hole in the wall coffee shops. The coffee here taste great, the parking on the other hand can sometimes be a hassle. I will probably see a lot more of this place meanings I will be working near it. I would highly recommend trying this place though it is very good. read more

A delicious iced coffee on a hot day next to people shooting food with a propane powered launcher makes for a happy experience. I love having a coffee house in Georgetown. It's so great!! Lately I've just been ordering white chocolate iced coffees bc the weather is so nice. :) The guy with the big mountain beard makes them great!!!! The chocolate is Hershey's which I don't like bc of the high fructose corn syrup. I wish they would make homemade chocolate or at least get a higher quality chocolate. Their white chocolate is a brand name for coffee stands. Probably high crustose corn syrup as well. Maybe soon they'll homemade their chocolate which would be AWESOME. :) read more

The foam on top of my cappuccino is so thick, I could mold it like play-doh. What should I make? Maybe I will sculpt my interpretation of winged victory. This place is a real coffee shop (not the Amsterdam kind). The barista is playing Air (trip hop. look it up), there is local art on the wall (and it's hot), and the decor/atmosphere is not "starbucks busy" (did I just make that up?). This joint is mellow. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!! I can hardly say enough about All City Here's my drink.......tall black coffee w/ a "shot in the dark" (aka. coffee w/ a shot of coffee) What does this mean? I like coffee, and I'm judging the coffee for...wait for it....you guessed it, THE COFFEE! I've been in to All City Coffee about 50 times now and I have nothing bad to say. The coffee is fantastic, the staff is on point and non-pretentious and to top off the quality, I like the shop. I love the location, but the environment is cold (concrete floor, hard wood chairs, no plants, fireplace, rugs, etc.). So that leaves just the coffee, food and service to judge. Service is fine, coffee good, food not good. I am eating a stale croissant on a Friday morning. $7 for a juice and plain croissant should mean fresh squeezed and a light, delicate croissant. Oh well. I've stopped by a couple of times for a coffee to go. They have a nice space. A lot of natural light, free wifi, large tables, no overcrowding (that I've witnessed). It seems like a good spot to tune out the world and ponder life over the wafting steam of a coffee cup. My go-to drink is always a cappuccino, and All City's hits the spot on a cold grey day if you're in the Georgetown area. read more
