My neighborhood regular, All City remains the indispensable Georgetown coffee stop, the best coffee in town by heads and shoulders. The quality has slipped of late, but could easily be back on-point with a little training and attention to product. The presence and malevolence of "hipsters" has been grossly overstated- there's a bit of everyone here, mostly working-class coffee-breakers, folks in computers doing work or homework, tourists...a good cross-section. Lately, there have been some new faces behind the bar, and the coffee, while still good, hasn't been the meticulously poured beauty it was before. My shots today tasted bitter and a bit thin, so I think they need to adjust their grind. Some baristas forget that pours can change as the temperature and humidity changes throughout the day- you can't just set it once and leave it, it must be adjusted. Vita, while a forgiving roast, won't forgive shots that pour faster than 18 seconds or slower than 25, and consistent tamping pressure is a must. The pastry/edibles variety and selection has been lacking lately too. While I understand that no retailer likes to see their money go into the trash in the form of left-over pastry waste, it is also true that people can't buy it if you don't have it. And, a solid day-old discount and charity donation program can take some sting out of the waste numbers. I'd love to see more attractive pastries and lunchy products, maybe La Tuscanella or Bakery Nuveau offerings, presented attractively in your case instead of just little brown piles of bready things. Oh, I'll still be a regular here, for now. But if it slips much further, I'll have to look elsewhere. read more

I like the large windows that face out to Sandbox Sports, where Willie and his crew keep people with there toes in the sand, on the beach volleyball sand courts. What? Check it out yourself. Drink in the people. Listen to the conversations. Greet the baristas and counter staff with a smile. Definitely order from the Chica with a bald woman, tattooed on her left forearm. She's cool. Lap-topers, artists, locals. And plenty tattooed, pierced and gauged-out people. From your seat, in a vintage 1960's oak chair, you'll find, you're in the epicenter of some cool, funky places. You can grind on a Cubano or pastrami sandwich from across the street, while visiting the Vespa store down the block. Or maybe you feel like heating it up with some blown glass lessons or school some kids, like a pinball wizard, from the shops right next door. A must do. DO IT. read more

I came here and it served it's purpose, which was to provide me coffee and a comfortable place to relax, before heading off somewhere else. It's a simple place, nothing special, a few food items, and a big ass coffee/expresso machine, that you find in most coffee shops. They make a good cup of coffee, I take black, no sugar, no cream, no milk, additives, just plain old coffee. They do a good job providing such deliciousness. It's drinkable, mild, not burnt. I enjoy the location, it is not any more or less roomy that another coffe shop in Seattle. Is it better than Starbucks, sure, it's isn't overly busy, and comfy. read more

A great corner hangout in an area with all kinds of resident artists and free thinkers. A very conversational crossroads among all kinds of painters, sculptors, craftspeople, and those in the light-industrial and aerospace employ available nearby. The big windows, plentiful tables, and cool rounded corner location make this seem like a hang at least as much as a coffee shop, which is as it should be. At a glance, you know that much of the interesting conversation in this town has gravitated to this spot. The service is laid-back and, while not hurried, still efficient, and very friendly in a low-key way. The coffee is great, and the prices are good. Georgetown isn't usually a morning spot for me but the appeal of this place is strong, and I could certainly see pulling off the freeway for a cup when I am on my way south somewhere. read more

ATTENTION SEATTLE PLEASE BOYCOTT! All City Coffee is not all that. Very poor customer service. The guy running the counter on Sunday morning 9/2/18 around 8ish can use a major attitude adjustment as he was sacrasric from the get go. His inability to manage the line when it's busy was part of the issue as well. So instead of telling me 'I will be right with you' his response was 'Wait!' He is a bully, aggressive with a side of Seattle Freeze along with customer blaiming. After I paid up I moved over to pick up my mocha. It didn't come with whip so I asked, this would not have been an issue if the guy properly running the counter would have clarified things. When I asked the Batista (female with tattoos)recieved a teaspoon size and had to ask for more whip which she did along with a side of eye glare. The Batista could have smoothed everything out but she only compounded this incompetence. I will update everyone when and/if the owner reached out but until then please boycott. Georgetown is great place to live and visit if you are new to the area or visiting, true seattlite are not this way, just get coffee and treats at other cafes, until they get their act together. There no reason why they can't be kind to customers in 2018. read more

This is the place in G-town to get your caffeine fix! You get a pretty strong brew here that will keep you going. Interesting cross section of locals and local working folks who frequent here. Hours are Interior is fairly comfy with a long table and a smattering of smaller rickety tables. Definitely the kind of place where you can pretty much camp out all day (take note work from home types!). They have outside tables too when the weather is nicer. Kind of wish they had more snacky items but the coffee is potent which is the most important thing. read more

Coffee: The coffee was just okay, not really a good kick of caffeine to get my going which was disappointing, but overall tasted okay. Price: Affordable at less than $2 for a medium sized coffee. Service: Quick and easy. I don't order a lot of different types of drinks when it comes to coffee. I want simply and easy and that's usually what makes my service quick and easy. Overall: I love the decor and the neighborhood so I might try again. Overall I didn't think it woke me up at all or gave me a boost which was disappointing. My first foray into Georgetown was popped hard with a visit to All City Coffee. It's a really nice space. It feels large, and felt empty though a lot of the seats were filled. Mostly large community tables where people can (maybe) become friends. The mocha grande comes in a pint glass with one of those hand protectors wrapped around it. Strange? Yes, I thought so too. The taste was satisfactory, however. It's a nice place to sit and work for a while, whether in isolation or with your loved one. They have some snacks as well, which are tasty! Good coffee in Georgetown! A stop by here is a good move on your part, especially during the Georgetown Art Attack. It's good for a caffeine pick me up with a local art installation to view. The staff seems bored but the coffee is alright! Another one of my favs. This place tops its Pioneer Square cousin hands down. It's a long way to go for coffee, but its totally worth it if you like eclectic Georgetown. Good coffee, friendly people and free Wi-Fi. It' appears that this is a favorite Burner hangout as well so I felt at home. For example about 40% of the customer have their hair dyed a funky color. I love the fact that this place is so open and airy with big windows and high ceilings. The bistro chairs and tables on the sidewalk make for a nice make for a nice pace to hunker down with some coffee, book/laptop, and take in the goings on of this burgeoning strip of Georgetown. The snacks selection seemed a little weak with a couple of plates of baked goodies, but they do brew Cafe Vita which is always good. Kudos as well for having a cool t-shirt design and for playing a nice selection of eclectic showtunes, indie, and classical music in the background. read more

Georgetown is the town time forgot until a few years ago. The very old neglected industrial buildings, and a few old houses give a clue to what thriving Georgetown once was, when home to the sixth largest brewery in the world, in its day. It started on a hop farm, most of Georgetown at the time, the mighty Rainier. Then it became an industrial sacrifice zone in the shadow of Boeing Field. Much longer than 5 years ago, artists in search of cheap and unregulated warehouse living and studio space found Georgetown and its secret surrounds. Need a studio with a crane? Check. Heat, optional, unless you are running a glass hot shop. Brownfield? Probably. Those studios constructed autonomous communities around themselves where late night performances didn't disturb the neighbors. But it is no longer a temporary autonomous zone. Artists are the shock troops of development, we will see if that is Georgetown's fate. Cafes follow artists. Like All City. My friend had a studio in the building, so I saw the neighborhood in the early-mid artist stage. Bars and shops followed, and now the neighborhood is a prime hangout. The merchants launched second Saturday food, drink and shop Attack, and the rest is history. Daytime All City is the community center, for neighbors and visitors, great people watching or for striking up a conversation. People are in endless variety. Mornings you might find Seattle software miners working off the rush hour crush before heading into town. Other times the dress code here is artist, inked, thrift star, biker, fixie, Chucks. So if you are wearing a power blue suit or a Forever 21 tube dress, you might feel out of place. The remodeling is adequate, the bathroom relatively clean, about equivalent to Portland's 3rd Street Stumptown, there are plenty of seating options, none fancy, the barista's bike is parked behind the bar. It all comes together perfectly. The coffee was perfect, I had some iced. All City has been a great supporter of Seattle artists, unfortunately the Toshiro-Kaplan location closed, but they always hosted art and music events. Seattleites know that Airport Way can be a good alternative to I5 at times, one of those times is perfect to stop by All City and read email. The city has discovered Georgetown is a great source of parking violation revenues. Study the signs, Seattle is notorious for regulations that practically require you carry a tape measure. In front of the cafe there is tail in parking, the reverse will cost you $42, in case you were wondering. read more

First time coming here, an old friend of mine and I got back in touch and figured Georgetown was a good meeting spot and as is Seattle custom thought a local coffee shop would be the right choice. From the pictures online, this place looked to be a quiet cozy spot perfect to catch up at. The atmosphere certainly did not disappoint when I walked in. My friend was already there with coffee and a table so we greeted and I went to the counter to order mine. After placing my order, and giving a 33% tip to the cashier because I like to give a bit to the people providing customer service (not that it's much money but it's the principal) I sat down with my friend and started our conversation. After what felt like a few minutes, I realized I hadn't heard my name or order called so I went back up to see if my order was ready as it was busy and maybe he hadn't gotten around to making it yet. As I started to ask, he hurriedly handed me my cup of now cold coffee and in a very snarky and annoyed voice and visibly perturbed face informed me "yes, your order was ready 10 minutes ago and has just been sitting here behind the counter". I wouldn't have cared if he had just handed the coffee to me politely with a smile. But the reason I enjoy supporting small local businesses is for the service and atmosphere they provide. If I had just gone to a starbucks instead, they would have offered me a new coffee with a smile. I would have missed out on supporting a small business owner and a quainter less corporate atmosphere but at least I wouldn't have been treated as an annoyance. Certainly surprising to me. I really didn't want or need my coffee remade, it was just so strange and off putting it just threw me off. I would not suggest coming here if you like friendly customer service. If you come in ok with them not caring about their customers but want the quiet and comfortable atmosphere of a local coffee shop then is place would be great. A simple smile would have made this a 5 star post. Edit: Originally made this a 2 star review. Changed to 1 star after reading many other reviews talking about unfriendly customer service. Awesome shop! The Georgetown area of Seattle is a truly REAL part of Seattle. Great little area with awesome establishments - All City Coffee fits in perfectly to the industrial area. If you're in this part of town, the coffee, espresso, caps, etc are all top tier stuff! Also if you like big, huge machinery, this is a cool place to visit while checking out trains, planes, and other giant things of this sort. They're all over the place! ...and the wifi is good. I have frequented All City quite a few times bc it is very close to work, but today is the last. I ordered a skinny latte and received a spoiled milk latte, but I didn't notice until I was 10 miles down I-5. I politely called them to give them a heads up that their milk was spoiled. They answered, I explained the situation and they had zero response! Ummm hello, I said something is up with your milk, you might not want to serve it to anymore customers. I was polite even though out $4 and no caffeine battling traffic on the 5. I am more upset about the person that answered the phone then the complete over-sight on serving spoiled milk. It's my usual morning hangout, love it or hate it. Much as I try, it's trending towards the latter. I'm not the sensitive type, and aside from fodder for storytelling, I don't really care too much about who says what to me in a coffee shop. But the service can be so surly and seemingly capriciously targeted it leaves me unable to think much other than, "WTF?!?" My best guess is that I sport an Eastside-ish haircut, have fewer than normal tattoos, and sometimes drag a kid or two with me when I come in, and thus don't match the neighborhood's hipster lean. I'm not really a coffee drinker - I have enough vices without adding caffeine to the mix. That being said, sometimes (perhaps on a gorgeous, sunny Saturday when you're traipsing around Georgetown after breakfast with your bff) a girl has to have a cold beverage that isn't water or juice. This is where All City helped me out. By 1ish on Saturday it was pretty steamy in Gtown...All City had their doors open and a breeze to beat the band rolling through, so we decided to make a stop. The iced chai wasn't very remarkable, but I can't fault a barista for that since they're typically making it with Oregon Chai mix (not sure if this is the case for ACC, but I know they aren't making it from scratch). We sat next to the open door and that fantastic breeze, which was wonderful until it blew The Stranger that we had on our table into my drink, spilling the iced chai over the table, floor and my leg. The barista seemed non-plussed and kept insisting on making me another drink even though it was obviously not his fault, and hurried to help clean it up until he got slammed with another rush of customers (and he still managed to make me another drink). I can't tell you if they have the best coffee in the city, but I can tell you they have a nice staff, great mellow atmosphere and decent chai and I wouldn't hesitate to stop by when I'm in the area again and in need of a caffeinated beverage. read more

I visit All City Coffee maybe once or twice a month on my way into work. I love their coffee, I love the space, I love the vibe. I have to say however that the staff leave MUCH to be desired. One of the regular baristas is incredibly unfriendly. I've visited multiple times, tried to spark small over the counter conversations and had her look at me as though I was an alien. I guess I'm not hipster enough for her? Then today, I decided to make a quick stop and was shocked at what I saw happen. While standing in line, there was a woman who kindly asked the barista to remake her drink; it was not what she ordered. He took the drink from her, threw it against the back wall and said nothing. He also did not make her a new drink. Five minutes go by and she finally says she'd like her money back and also confronts him about his actions. No apology, he just handed her money back and walked away. All City Coffee, I want to like you, I really do! But I will not be coming back. Your staff make what could be a great place, something really unappealing. read more

Stopped into All City yesterday as I needed to switch from my usual shop down the street that happens to close an hour or so earlier, to finish some work. I've done this on several occasions to wrap up classes, etc. I'm always sure to buy my usual campagna with a bit of their (now stale) leftover slices of bread to suffice for my stay. This time I just picked up a cup tea along with a dollar tip. I'm not sure if it's merely the acoustics in the room but this is now the third time I've had such experiences. Shortly after I sat down the barista on-shift began to slide large metal chairs across the room, literally slamming them into the tables they occupy. Followed by vigorous sweeping so loud that I had to remove the my headphones to see what is going on just feet away from me. On my first visit, I asked if the acoustic guitar (equipped with a pick) hanging next to a couch was open to play.. The barista responded with a short, 'No'. Having spent some time performing professional in my career, this was sad. I'm not sure why it is there at all. This was also an experience when the barista spent the better part of an hour chatting rather loudly about her distaste for the management, quitting, and again, slamming screeching chairs into tables as soon as 7p (7:30 closing) rolls around. Even the environment and aesthetic is distasteful and always a topic for political debate. The walls are currently adorned in images of police brutality. Specifically clowns being beaten by the police. Considering that the Black Live Matter movement is often the centerpiece of this campaign, I found it wildly inappropriate. It seems that every time I have come to this shop, despite my polite/short conversation, the staff make it as apparent as possible that they are setting up to close and that I should not be there. This is by far the most unwelcoming environment I have been to in any Seattle coffee shop and I would not recommend you spend any time with their cafe experience if you need a nice place to sit & stay. read more

BB may be gone but his snarky spirit lives on. this place has always had a slighly unfriendly vibe and not much has changed. The baristas are still more interested in talking to each other about their weekend plans. It still feels like an imposition to ask them for a drink.
