Again, not being truthful. Andrew is writing a reply on behalf of Martin! Does Martin know about this? My car was given to drive to a customer whose car was in for repairs in Oceanside. When I asked for my car back on Friday, Andrew told me that it had been on a roadtrip and the "potential buyer" ran into a problem with the transmission while on a roadtrip, and it is over in Escondido now to be looked at, and therefore my car is not in Oceanside. He told me it would be back on Monday, which is wasn't. I drove over to Escondido, and my car was not there, and had not been there! I was then told by Andrew, that my car was picked up by the person "test driving" it and is being brought back to Oceanside. Not true. Andrew didn't have my car and he was making excuses why he doesn't have it. Then I asked him about it being in Escondido, and at that point he changed his story and said he just called them to inquire about a possible transmission problem and actually that there isn't a problem with my car at all. He then told me that he is trying to reach the man who is driving my car and ask him to return it. Well, my car didn't show up until Tuesday late afternoon. I was ready to go to the police and report it stolen! He lied where it was, and he couldn't get it back, so he was stalling me. His comment says that it was not a loaner and it didn't go on a road trip? How does someone "test drive" a car for 1 week and put 1000 miles on it? I think Andrew didn't think I would check up on my car. He also told me that it is "standard" in the industry for people to test drive older cars for several days, and that the man wanted to be sure there aren't any problems with the car??? I asked him that since he is the mechanic, why would the person question his analysis of the car? He didn't have a good excuse for that and changed the subject. Also, my car is not 30 years old! I also have the phone calls recorded that clearly caught everything he is now denying. And answering back in disguise as Martin is again not truthful. Called over the phone to make an appointment, took my car in and they got it done within a day. They were very informative, and got the job done really well. They kept me updated on what needed to be done and got new parts from the dealership with no extra charge of labor. They changed a few things that were missing and added new hardware to the bolts that were almost rounded. 10/10 recommend! read more

I had taken my vehicle to firestone for a coolant leak they informed me that i had a water pump leak from there i had coordinated with all german auto to pick it up and do the work they called me and informed me that it would cost 1700 for the job i declined and told them id pick up the car they told me they'd already removed panels so id have to pick it up tomorrow I agreed went to pick it up in the morning they charged me 180 for a diagnostic check to tell me they exact same information I already knew was the problem they entire cost was considered labor they also told me that i would have to come in to pay i informed him i was in military uniform and was unable to come inside they proceeded to give me attitude as if i was in the wrong for denying them work they also left my car keys on the windshield in an lot where my car could have been stolen or broken into they entire interaction with them was unprofessional and unnecessary i do not recommend this shop I especially don't recommend it to my fellow service members they will try to take advantage of you the same way they took advantage of me read more

If I could give KÖNIG a star for every thousand dollars they SAVED me, I'd give them AT LEAST 12 stars!! Mike and Denny of KÖNIG are my saviors!! I had my 4.2L S5 towed to their shop and within a couple hours, they had a far better understanding on my engine failure than Audi did. -They updated me on every stage of the rebuild with calls and emails. -There were no "hidden costs" -Spent their time to explain their process in depth. -The parts they order come in quick so they are super flexible with most last minute maintenance/performance needs and wants. Now, the rebuild wasn't cheap. But you must remember: with these kind of cars, you have to PAY TO PLAY. Every REAL car enthusiast knows that! The total was nearly $7K, BUT I'll pay that ANYYYY day versus the $20K+ that Audi was trying to charge me. Let me start this review by saying that we sold our vehicle right after Konig Motorsport completed the service. Also, don't blame people in the business of maintaining your high maintenance vehicle for having to spend good money to fix it correctly...European vehicles just need more attention which = dollars. We took our Mini in after it began idling poorly and emitting an oil burning smell at approximately 62,000 miles. The Good: Denny and Mike (the shop mechanic) did a thorough inspection of our 2009 John Cooper Works Mini Clubman. The diagnosis was oil leaking from the oil pan, oil filter housing, and coolant leaking from the water pump and themostat housing, and the valve cover breather valve was defective (oil by-pass). Mike took me in to the garage and showed me the issues with the Mini up on the lift. Denny joined us and confirmed all that needed to be worked on. I asked for a written estimate, and a best case/worst case scenario. Best case was an estimate of $1,561, worst case was an estimate of $2,100 which included new spark plugs as well as some other small maintenance. Since we were selling the Cooper after this service, we opted for the shorter work list. The list of repairs included an oil filter and service, reseal of the oil filter housing and cooler, and replacement of the water pump, thermostat, oil pan gasket, and turbo oil feed line. Parts total, $525.00 and a labor total of $1,155. Remember the above admonition of not crying about spending money to maintain your European car...well almost $1,200 in labor alone is why we sold our Mini. Denny and his team completed the repairs and we were able to sell the Mini quickly and without any further mechanical issues. We had just spend $700 with our regular mechanic and he missed much of what Denny and Mike caught on our Mini. Not sure if that was because the car aged significantly from September to November, but a lot of the issues we were glad Denny caught and addressed. The Not So Good: Communicating with Denny and his staff was a challenge. Let's just say customer service is not their high point...we never heard from them in the 9 days they had our vehicle. All follow up was from our side. We had to call to get any updates, and the assertion was made by Denny that the car would be ready soon. A vague soon...but soon. What started as a 1.5 day job ended up being a very extended stay. Prepare for this when you take your vehicle here and you will do fine. Expect that there will be delays, as Denny's shop is very busy servicing a high expectation clientele, and as we witnessed, sometimes they have a hard time saying no to business or quoting realistic vehicle return times. I empathize with Denny and his team, because the clientele (we saw several Porsche, BMW, and VW owners while at the shop) has a tendency to set unrealistic expectations for service...these are high performance autos folks, not shoes you just bought at Nordstrom's...and Konig wants to please everyone. We were patient, but a little concerned that the estimate would reflect a higher labor charge because of the delay. It did not, but based upon a few other reviews here on Yelp, a little anxiety was ours until we picked up the car. We would strongly recommend Konig with the specific understanding that you get a written estimate first, follow up often, and lower your customer service expectations from your usual Nordstrom's experience. read more

I called and made an appointment to bring in my Mini Cooper convertible because I was getting an error message every time I tried to put the top down, and despite all the usual fixes, I assumed one of the microsensors must not have been reading right (the trunk shelf has to be in the proper position, etc). So I brought it in and left it there in the morning, telling them anytime that day was ok. I had to take off work and get rides to and from the shop, and waited all day for their call. I was working from home on a deadline project, with my phone right next to me, but was not carefully watching the time since I was so busy with work and then noticed it was after 6 and the shop had closed, and no phone call. I called and they were gone for the day and just kept the car and keys without even notifying me of what was going on. I had to arrange another ride for the next day to get the car early in the AM so I could get to work/appointments. I call at 7:30am when they open and they're like "oh well it takes time"-- yeah, that was why I left the car there for 8 hours. They had not even looked at it and did not even have the courtesy to call me and let me know it was not done. When I went to pick it up, the man behind the desk was like "well we were very busy" (um, ok, so that explains the total unprofessionalism?) and then says "since you said it was ok to leave overnight" (!!). I never said any such thing, nor would I have since I had an early appointment the next day and remember that when I left the car with them my exact words were "any time today is fine." So I wasted my whole day yesterday and went to a lot of trouble to bring the car in for the entire day, only to have to frantically figure out how to go pick it up this morning without even a call from them and no work done on the car. I can't comment on their ability to do repairs, since I did not get any, but if that is the way they treat a new customer, I think I will just find another shop that is courteous and professional and considerate of their customer's time. read more

Laid Back No Pressure Environment! This was my first experience with Konig Motorsport. I learned of them through searching the net for a particular shop I was looking for, and they happened to have a potential "Keeper" for me. I was very apprehensive at first, not knowing anyone at the place, or the area. I used to live about 45 minutes away. I phoned the them to confirm about my vehicle service I was interested in bringing it there, and I spoke with Denny, who informed me that it in fact was ready to take care of me. I said I'd like to come on in and check it out, and he said, "Great. We'll do a courtesy inspection on top of your service work." I can't say enough about Denny and his mechanic. They were outstanding to say the least. No slick repairs gimmicks, no pressure, no attempts at manipulative ploys. Just great, accomodating service. It sounds like a cliche, but we hit it off like this guys been my buddy for years. And trust me, I'm a skeptical type of personality. Denny went above and beyond when I had questions about service /repairs, tuning info, etc... Gave me complete peace of mind, which we all know, is close to family. So quick and professional. We had the dealer do a diagnostic test and it said, among other things, a new battery was needed. Had it towed to All German and showed them the diagnostic and was given a verbal estimate, to which I agreed. When the final bill came in, it was $300 more than the quote and Andy said that the overage was caused by the new battery. I had understood, and rightly so, that the battery was part of the original quote. So if you go to these guys, make sure to get a written estimate that lays out the work they are planning to do. read more

I brought in Porsche for brakes. .. Ended up leaving spending $7500... . Most of that work not needed.. .. Next time I went back for transmission work. Left with a bill over $8000 After he put in an used transmission and over charged me on the transmission and labor costs. He gave me a one year warranty....5 months later the transmission failed and he and Denny wouldn't honor the warranty. I had to go elsewhere to have the same the same work done again...Denny is the worst person I have dealt with in the automotive field. He is a liar, a cheat an just a totally bad person. Please don't patronize him. I sued him and I was awarded a good sum of money....quess what.... he filed for bankruptcy...what a creep! read more

(Management / Owner Review) I will write a separate review for the actual work that was done (which was VERY good) but this is for Owner/Manager. I'm a little late as the work was down on my car about a year ago but this needs to be said. After looking around Oceanside for a viable German auto mechanic I settled on Konig as I needed some pretty heavy work to be done on my car and wanted it to be done properly. Took my car in for diagnostics to find out exactly what was going on, got a call back from Denny/Danny (can't remember) who told me what it was and so I agreed to some work to be done. Key word, SOME. A few days later he calls again and goes down this massive laundry list of work that they ALREADY DID that I ABSOLUTELY did NOT approve. Hits me with a $5,000 + bill and expects me to pay it, no questions asked. Long story short, I confronted him about what he's trying to pull, was able to SLIGHY lower the price. Paid the con artist and said good riddance. Moral: get something in writing, signed by you and him stating EXACTLY what's going to be done ahead of time. read more

So I got on my iPhone and started to google and pretty much everyone was way too busy. Until I came across Konig Motorsport... I spoke to a lady very pleasant on the phone I asked her how much for oil change and quoted me $90.... I was thinking to myself, wow I'm so stupid I have been paying anywhere from $150-$190... When I arrived there employees very nice place is very clean.... Even where they work on your car is very not a clutter box! So I was thinking I was just going to do oil change. But I knew before bringing my car I needed to get somethings addressed. I really didn't have the time to leave my car. But when Denny showed me how my wheel was in bad condition and told me I don't even feel comfortable u driving to Escondido... Andrew Graham took my car in on consignment to sell it. Well, he immediately gave it out as a loaner car to someone who was getting their car repaired, without me knowing about it. Andy told me that they are test driving my car...... for 10 days, and put 1000 miles on it !!! When I wanted to come to retrieve my car, I got a lot of lies from Andy and the story/excuses kept changing, and my car was not there! Was told it went to the Escondido shop to have the transmission looked at, which is not true. I went to the Escondido shop and my car was not there and they had not seen my car! He "stalled" me for several days, and during one conversation he "slipped" and said that the person test driving my car took it on a road trip. Of course that person did not buy my car, because it was their "loaner" car! Andy tried to tell me that it is customary for people to test drive an older car for several days. Unbelievable. Excellent customer service. Denny knows his engines. He had an idea of what was wrong before I even arrived. In the 30 secs it took him to drive it into the bay he already caught the misfire issue. Amazing! Jerry the mechanic was excellent at explaining to me the issues my car is having and the simple fixes needed. Completely transparent, knowledgable, professional and patient. Sterling BMW had my car for 3 months and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car and couldn't give me any clear answers. They gave me an estimate of over $10,000 and this was after another shop had charged over $4,000. Hmmm...over $14,000 total without an explanation while having me car for 3 months. Konig went over my entire car in an hour, explained everything to me and quoted me $2,800! Phenomenal! Not to mention they are all chill unlike the tight arses at BMW. Finally, my baby bimmer is saved! I can't thank the team at Koning enough! Cheers! We had an emergency fuel pump that needed to get done on our BMW. My husband has a lot of knowledge with cars, so when we shopped all the local independents and dealers in the area we knew what we were looking for. Since we're fairly new to Oceanside we didn't have anyone we could trust. Soon after talking to Denny we knew we had found the right place. We had called about 4 different places and none of them could give us a straightforward pre-estimate on diagnosis and cost and labor rates. These guys were going to charge me $162 to fill diesel exhaust fluid on my Mercedes. They said to do this you need to run diagnostics ($125) and the diesel exhaust fluid is $37. They said running diagnostics were necessary to do this. I went to a Mercedes Dealership, bought a gallon of DEF, they topped it off for me, showed me how to do it and was out the door for $37 and it only took 5 minuteS with 0 paperwork. read more

As a local and an owner of multiple exotic cars, I needed to have a tire fixed on my lamborghini. Despite the multiple negative reviews posted on yelp I wanted to give the local guy a chance. The owner is an honest and standup guy and fixed my tire for $8 more than my quote was. Got me in and got me out within 2 hours. I will use Konig in the future to make repairs to my vehicles. I had a very tricky situation with my BMW Z4 broken down in Oceanside while I was across the country and unable to make it back to deal with it (I'm a DIY enthusiast on the East side of the US). Andy went well above and beyond to help me figure out and fix what was wrong with my car. The "other guys" who had it in their shop had declared the engine destroyed with a thrown rod (on a BMW!) and that all I could do was either send it to someone to replace the engine or total out my car. Andy sent one of his own people to look at it there at the "other guys" to confirm his suspicion it was, indeed, fixable and not a bad engine, before I arranged the tow to his shop. Once there, they quickly repaired my vehicle. This car will probably reside in the San Diego area for the next couple of years unless the driver gets deployed so if my Z4 needs any work whatsoever I absolutely will only be taking it to All German Auto in Oceanside. Thank you, Andy and team, for taking care of me, my car, and its daily driver in what would otherwise have been a much more stressful and expensive situation!!! I cannot express my thanks enough. I have taken my car to Konig twice before, however, the third time these mechanics went above and beyond. My 2001 VW was a mess... an actual death trap...it was a danger to drive because of prior work done on it. They took there time and found some serious problems with my car,and they kept it until it was safe to drive...they truly are amazingly trustworthy professionals. They even showed me the mess of parts they had removed from my vehicle...Thank you guys so very much!!!! read more

I'm a bit torn, since I just paid a ton of money to repair my car, but I'm extremely confident of the quality of the service. First, the upsides: These guys are top notch mechanics, and figured out two very difficult electrical problemsin my VW that dealers and other independent garages had failed to fix despite my spending couple of grand letting them try. Car ran great for a LONG time after my first visit. Take a look around the shop. Clean and organized, very purposeful design and execution. Looks like a car operating room rather than a garage. Downsides: Like others, I think Denny should offer a bit more in his up-front estimates. I sense that there is a bit of bait and switch here, in that some minor work was done without notice or permission (oil change, especially). Some of it never appeared on the invoice, which made me wonder if it was done or just made up to justify a large bill. I will give them the benefit of the doubt here, but a bit more detail on the costs and services rendered would be preferable. Also, I never got to look at the old parts, so there's that. They are a bit slow, and run behind their promised delivery times, but I think that's a side effect of the care and attention they give to doing good work. Cost: I long ago accepted that driving German cars would mean expensive repairs. So when things get complicated, I'll bite the bullet go back to Konig. read more

Honest, detailed, and A+++ Service. If you care at all about your car, take it to Konig. I have a 2008 Mini Cooper JCW and am VERY picky about who works on my car. If you have an Audi, BMW, Mini, etc. then you know that these cars require more maintenance than a Ford, Chevy, or Toyota. These are high tech machines and need a mechanic and shop that know what they are doing. I was not happy with the Mini Dealer or other specialized Mini shops. I am GLAD that I found Denny and Konig. First, I must admit this is my first review. If you are thinking about bringing your car to Konig, don't make the mistake my wife and I made and do your research. Denny is dishonest and will take advantage of you. Perhaps this review is an anomaly, I just don't believe all the positive reviews on Yelp and question if these are just friends and relatives of Denny. We brought our BMW 335d into Denny because the check engine light was on and we could not get the car registered. We had already been informed that the problem with our 335d was that the Glow Plugs needed to be replace and that the DEF Active Tank was "throwing a code" and needed to be replaced. After leaving the car with Denny for 3 weeks, he finally called and informed us that he could fix the codes on the car so that it could get through smog/registration, and quoted us $3500.00. We agreed to have him fix the car. Weeks later, after over $4,300.00 in repairs, (mostly for brakes, fluids, filters, etc. that we never asked to be fixed), Denny informed us that there was a problem with the DEF Tank (again, he was told this when the car was dropped off), and that he suggested we take it back to the BMW dealer to have it checked. After more thorough research , we found through public records that Denny (Konig Motorsports) has been sued multiple times, and also found that Denny Sucharda has declared bankruptcy twice in the past 10 years - the most recent in May of 2017. Perhaps because of a lost court case?? My only advice, take heed. We are now out $4300 and still cannot drive our car. read more

we all go through the struggle of finding the perfect mechanic.... The struggle is over! I will never take my car anywhere else. Audi A3 & Audi S5 (both 2009). The mechanics are friendly, well vetted & they know how to FIX cars. Denny is awesome, give them a chance, you won't be disappointed. Not only do they always provide quality Service but they only fix what is needed. We thought our brakes were bad and thought they may need to be changed because they squeaked a bit but the mechanics told us they were fine and even provided suggestions on how to control the noise ( I guess it's an Audi thing) my point is any other mechanic would have changed my breaks for the money, even if they were fine. Whether it's an oil change or a water pump, I drive to Denny from San Diego. Worth it every time. read more

I decided that I wanted my 1983 Mercedes 300 turbodiesel to feel like new. I am a mechanical engineer, product designer and I am picky. I also have serious car trust issues when it comes to mechanics. Letting anyone work on my cars is tough. The team at Konig knew far more about my car than I did. They took the time to explain the benefit of each repair and how it would relate to the driving experinece that I described wanting to have. There is a tightness and a precision that a band new car has. I have that back. The car looks and feels like I spent a fortune. The work I had done priced out at 1/3 labor and 2/3 parts. To really rehab a car you should be ready for that. There is no way I could have gotten all that work done in 2 years of Saturdays. I am driving and enjoying a car that makes people stop and look. It is rock stable at 80 blasting up and down the freeway and I trust it completely because I trust the work that was done. read more
