Now, I did pay attention to some lessons, so I do know a few things about cars - enough to know when someone's trying to fill me full of bullsh*t. I can't count the number of places I've been to and walked right back out of. CPT is a refreshing change. Al and his team are knowledgeable, efficient, and actually seem to really care about what they do. Al is clearly a driving enthusiast, as I see his porsche cup car parked outside when I go, and I've seen him around at more than a few track events around the area. The last time I was there, CPT installed a set of high-performance brakes on my car. I picked it up the same day. The prices are reasonable, definitely cheaper than a dealer. I'm sure you can find a cheaper place, but when it comes to my car, I don't want to worry about quality. The shop is pretty big, and business seems to be good, but there are enough staff on board to make sure your needs are met without a long delay. The work floor is clean and well-organized. I can't say enough about the service at CPT. I was far from home and had a major mechanical malfunction with my car. I was getting ready to freak out, but Al happened to be around. He packed up my car, got everything back to factory conditions, helped me get it to the dealer, made sure I got home safely, and referred me to an awesome dealer. Why? I'm not sure, other than knowing Al and CPT are just naturally good people who happen to work on cars. Even better, Al talks to me like I'm a person, not slow and loud, like most mechanics have talked to me since chicks don't know anything about cars! CPT is for folks who want to get the best performance out of their vehicle. I would recommend CPT to anyone who fits the above statement. I live in Chicago and it's worth the drive for me. Very disappointing experience with my Tesla Model Y. I specifically brought the vehicle in for a…read morecontrol arm noise coming from the driver side and clearly explained that upon arrival. The shop diagnosed and recommended replacement of both the driver and passenger lower control arms. I ultimately approved repair of only the side making noise for approximately $697 (versus the $1,394 they recommended for both sides). What bothered me most was that after the repair was completed, the technician test drove the vehicle, yet nobody informed me before making payment that the exact same noise was still present. I personally discovered it myself within less than 10 feet of driving out of the shop and immediately returned. The lack of communication regarding the unresolved issue felt very misleading and frustrating. Instead of taking ownership of the failed diagnosis or communication issue, the owner Elvis became defensive and stated the reason the noise remained was because I was "too cheap" to do all the work (both side, $1,397). He also suggested I should have replaced the upper control arm as well, despite the fact that they never diagnosed or recommended prior to the repair. I ultimately took the vehicle to the Tesla dealership, where the upper control arm issue was addressed at a significantly lower cost. While the lower control arms may have shown signs of wear, replacing worn parts that are not actually causing the customer's complaint makes little sense from a diagnostic standpoint. Based on my experience, the process felt more like guesswork than properly isolating the actual issue. Customer service was ultimately arrogant and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I would be very cautious bringing a Tesla here.

My kids took the key from the car so I quickly went to give it to him, again he had an attitude. I said "I have a feeling you are upset with me or something, is there a problem?" He stated in a rude tone, "I just don't feel good today but I am forced to be here." I said "I'm sorry, but I'm still not feeling as though I am receiving good service." He said "I told you I don't feel good" I asked for the manager, he said he was the owner. My thoughts are, everyone has bad days and sick days, even if you are owner.. you don't have the right to treat people this way. I felt extremely disrespected and questioned if it was racism because I am a young woman of color with visible tattoos. He was not warm and friendly at all, I ended up telling him I didn't feel comfortable spending my money with his business. On the way I got gas and the light went out. They plugged in an OBD and no specific codes showed. No charge to scan for codes . They are on top of maintenance schedules , if you ask they will have the manufacturer recommended milage to replace spark plugs and belts . They are trust worthy and don't add extra repairs like the dealerships .
