Obviously they have the right to operate that way, but it is not customer friendly and is just bad business. I've had storage units with Extra Space at multiple locations on and off for 10+ years now. Extra Space has always increased rent by a noticeable amount, but in the past they occurred once or twice a year and were a fraction of the amount. Alternatively, I had a storage unit at Public Storage before relocating and received one small rate increase over a year or two.

This morning, I removed one of the egg bites from the freezer and opened the sealed package. As I looked at it, I noticed something unusual on top of the egg bite. Upon closer inspection, it appeared to be a freeze-dried cockroach embedded in or resting on the product. I was shocked and immediately lost my appetite. I have preserved the product and its packaging and have taken photographs of what I found. They're a family-owned business and it shows. I had some questions and the owners, Trey and Christina, responded right away and didn't make me feel dumb for not completely understanding what to ask for. They didn't have a motorcycle hauling set up ready to go but we told them what we were trying to do and they custom built a motorcycle wheel truck from scratch with barely 24 hours notice! This bike belonged to my dad so I appreciated that extra effort to keep it safe so much.
