I was just here on 9/7 to get my smog check as required by the DMV ... just one day before my tags were set to expire lol. I work up the street, so I called first and asked if I could drive over from my office without an appt. for a smog check. This was on a Tuesday afternoon around lunchtime and the owner told me to come on over. Thankfully, there was no wait at all. I was in and out in under 20 minutes. The waiting room inside was clean and updated. I didn't get the normal grungy body shop vibe inside the waiting area at all. The room was actually really nicely done with the furniture and aesthetics choices made. If you waited until the last minute to get your smog check, come here because this shop is certified by the DMV to handle it all! Thus, I was able to pay for my smog check, renewal, AND walk out with my new registration and tags in one stop. My prior plan had been to pay everything online after the smog check like normal, wait for the tags to come in the mail, and hope they made it to me before I got pulled over for having expired tags. The owner was even able to update my address with the DMV from right inside the shop. read more

DO NOT COME HERE! Price is $71 for a smog. If it doesnt pass he will still charge you either way. There are tons of shops that charge $40-$50 and wont make you pay if it fails (basically every shop). Ontop of this, he took my car in and in no less than 3 minutes said it failed and made me pay on the spot. He then THREATENED to put a dent in my car as he walked towards it if i didnt pay on the spot! Honestly for the price and customer service im suprised its in business. Trust me save your time and go to the other 20 shops down the street. This one was the only one open at the time and i needed a smog asap which is why i tried it. It said that if it failed I get one more try. I thought after my second try its only fair i paid, failed or passed. I tried to get the paper that he made me sign but he held it back and tried to not let me read it. Once he threatened to damage the car I paid out of disbelief. Just dont go. I went to get get a smog check for annual dmv registration. We had an Exceptional service. Very very clean facility, you can sit and do work in the waiting room or if you are a student like me do homework while you wait. The couch is more comfortable than my own furniture at home (lol) smooth reception not a long wait and reasonable price. DO NOT GO HERE! This guy george sold me a car that is totalled. He totally took advantage of me. I saved up money to buy a car and did some shopping around and found george on facebook marketplace. I do not know anything about cars but figured since he is a mechanic he would be honest...well im gullable i must tell you. I learned my lesson to never trust mechanics. I drove the car to my boyfriend and he told me something was wrong with the transmission. I took it to a mechanic and he told me that the car was illegally smogged and there is a huge problem with the transmission and the car is pretty much totalled. I tried to call george back and he told me its my problem now. This guy is the worst kind of person. I saved up this money for months and its my birthday and i wanted to treat myself and i cant even drive this car. I am so upset. I do not know how a person could ever do this to another person. Do not ever go here. Luckily my boyfriend has lawyers and cops in his family so im hoping i get my money back and that i can just forget this ever happens! read more

I had a positive experience here over the past week. Initially I went in for a smog certificate for my car, but sadly it didn't pass right away. Because my battery had died recently, I was told it reset something necessary to pass the smog test. It was explained that I had to put more miles on the car before it could pass the test. They gave me 10 days to come back without paying an additional testing fee. I brought my car back a week later after making an effort to drive every day during the week, something I hadn't done since the beginning of Covid. It passed without a problem. I think one of the issues leading to a misunderstanding about fees is that there's a charge for the test and a separate charge for the smog certificate (I think the certificate is $10.50, but be sure to ask about this). I suppose they should do a better job of explaining this up front, but it's a big leap to say they're preying on people, especially seniors. It really bothers me when people jump onto social media and use inflammatory language to describe something they disagree with or don't understand. That's basically why I'm writing this review. In my opinion, this is an honest, small business that does a respectable job. I'll go back again next time I need a smog certificate and would recommend them to family and friends. read more
