Picture this: you and your friends get together for a blossom concert to enjoy what you have left of the summer, and the next morning, you wake up to an email saying you will be getting charged for "Damages." When you ask what was broken, they respond that everything is functional and no damage was done. They go on and charge your account $500 and never give you the reason for doing so. I contacted my bank, and they issued me the money back, but I got a letter charging for miscellaneous fees. When we tried to contact them multiple times, there was no response to our continuous emails and calls. Seven months later, we are still dealing with the repercussions of this horrible company. TRUST THIS COMPANY. I have heard numerous reports that DIDDY parties have been held here, too. If you wanted to get screwed over so badly, I would suggest having your husband, wife, or a friend DO IT FOR YOU. I REPEAT, THIS COMPANY IS NOT WORTH IT! Unfortunately on May 2nd the mother of the bride was admitted to the James Cancer Center's ICU due to a complication with her battle of stage 4 lung cancer. We weren't sure how it would go, as no one does, so we waited for the bride to let us know. Unfortunately as the days passed, her mother hadn't recovered enough for the group to make it out of town. The bride was the power of medical attorney. We contacted platinum on the last possible day to get a partial refund (which we were understanding of, it's in the contract) however we were met with a complete lack of empathy or help. They said they can still bring the bus to Columbus but we would need to pay more, otherwise we would lose the money. We stated we were within the contract & the 5 days of the event & the response was "I don't have the contract in front of me, I'm not in the office." It was 4 pm at this point on a Monday after calling and dealing with them all morning. Finally we brought in a legal aid rep to call & we got a partial refund. At NO POINT was there an expression of apologies or understanding surrounding the reason why. We had to fight all day to get a partial refund. Finally, today, I was able to send a letter the social worker helping on behalf of the family sent to help with financial obligations we might not have been able to hold up on our end. I sent the letter, along with an admittedly not very nice email stating how awful the customer service had been, additionally with a link to the now viral ceremony that was held that same weekend due to the unknown of whether the mom would make it to the actual wedding stating a request for a full refund in the hopes to help our family & friends with money. The response back was almost laughable if it wasn't so heartless: "Good Morning, No further refund will be issued and I have reviewed your email carefully. Your bus was held for you, and it could have been rented to others, which caused a loss in potential business to us. This matter is closed and we wish you the best moving forward. Thank you, Dawn " my response: Dawn, Thank you for your well wishes and thoughts for the family throughout this time Sorry you lost maybe $2000. We might be losing a loved one within the next few days. Have a great day! & finally, my favorite part, the response back: "I would suggest that you concentrate what precious time you have with your loved one, vs continued pursuit of this matter. You have a great day also, Dawn" That was the first acknowledgment of the bride's mom throughout the ENTIRE ordeal of our situation & THAT was the response. Basically at this point we don't care about the money. She, the guardian, and her dad, the veteran, were on the manifest for an Honor Flight Cleveland flight to Washington DC on October 15th. Not being from the area, she googled transportation to the airport at 3:30 AM, gave Danny a call and made a reservation. She probably texted him a dozen times, paranoid that something may go wrong and she and her dad would miss this opportunity of a lifetime. Danny was very kind and patient, and assured and reassured her that it would be fine. Well it was better than fine. Toni was their driver who was actually 7 minutes early for the 2:45AM pickup after confirmation texts the day before and another one when he was on his way. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, Toni opened our doors for us, he chatted with us about the area and his different jobs and his skating and the trip, even though it wasn't a very long one to begin with, was over in a blink. What they rented me looked like it was in pristine condition, and it was! I was almost scared to take it with me, in fear of ruining it! (Hey, I know I'm responsible but party accidents happen--especially when complimentary champagne is involved!) And their service was quick, efficient and really nice! In fact, I was supposed to return the party equipment the next day, but I couldn't make it. I called them, explained and they didn't charge me a late fee. Now that's what I call great customer service. They also don't sit there and look over what you rented right in front of you with a fine toothed comb. I was able to get assistance carrying everything in (and out), they printed me up my paper work and I left in less than 5 minutes. Plus, they are a pet friendly hotel and don't charge anything extra to bring your furry friend! We booked a standard king room. We had an easy check-in experience where we signed a short waiver related to having our dog on site, and then headed up to our room on the fourth floor, which was beautifully furnished. The room is color drenched in a dark burgundy and features artful touches throughout, including an antique-looking vanity mirror and a mahogany hutch that contains robes, a safe, a refrigerator, and a mini-bar / coffee service. There were a few things I would tweak to make it a 5-star hotel in by book: first is eliminating the blinking green light on the fire alarm, which was bright enough and frequent enough to disrupt our sleep. Second is having a bedside table on both sides of the bed. Third would be offering ear plugs. We were not significantly disturbed by being downtown, but it is situated in a busy area of the city and this would be a nice touch for guests who are more sound sensitive. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay here again. The on-site bar & restaurant is fantastic and the proximity to explore the rest of downtown is unmatched.
