I enjoy All the Best since I got my two cats; their products for pets are healthy, high quality, & from not mainstream vendors. I used to get raw food for the cats & even when they transitioned to vet prescribed food, stop often for other needs they may have (litter, treats, catnip, toys, cleaning supplies). The staff is always knowledgeable, attentive to the customer and their pets, & give great customer service if you are looking for something specific. I was in the neighborhood for another errand & needed to make it a point to stop by All the Best for some usual cat litter & random things. I typically go to the Burien or Columbia City locations yet had to leave a review for this location on Madison Street. The two working there, one of them seemed like the store manager, were helpful & took the time to ask what I was looking for...as I haven't been to this location in some years! I had mentioned about how construction on that block has changed things temporarily & they were kind enough to offer walking the bag to the car for me, which was thoughtful. I was waiting for the bus with my frenchie and Boston on this 80 degree day (my error completely, it got so hot so fast). I thought I had 10 minutes for the bus and when I ran inside and waited in line, it updated to 2 mins. I asked if I could leave it in the counter because my bus was nearby. Next thing I know, either the customer in front of me or the cashier ran to the bus stop with the ice cream and said "it's too hot today"'! It was nicest thing ever. We WERE a regular at Mudbay but now we will be a regular at All the Best. We walked in here to get our pup a treat after Dr appointment we decided to checkout this store. Mariko helped us and took our info down and gave us a birthday gift bag because it was one of our pup bday. Made our hearts melt. The lady in the store asked me if I needed anything, I told her I'm shopping for my cat's bday and she went to get me a free cat goodie bag filled with so many treats and food that we're likely adding up to $30. I was really concerned about my dogs' dental hygiene and didn't know where to start. The store manager (Joseph? Justin?) was extremely helpful. I was able to pick up some dental sticks that were easy for my senior dog to chew and some plaque-off powder. TL;DR: Nice, clean stores, friendly employees, decent selection of goods. BUT, online pet food orders are a nightmare, delivery information is outdated/incorrect, they seem to have serious issues with their inventory management and supply chain meaning the things you order are never there when they say they are, and the stores simply don't communicate well when there are issues (and there are ALWAYS issues) with an order. If you're there for dog/cat toys and treats it's fine, but if you want reliable options for pet food, you're better off looking elsewhere. For the past 3-4 years I've been ordering frozen raw food for my dog. She eats about a pound a day so I try to buy in bulk whenever possible. I've gone through several brands and ordered everything from 6lb bags of nuggets to 25lb boxes of patties. Initially the bulk orders were special order only so I had to call or walk in to order and pay then wait 3-10 days for the order to arrive. I was supposed to be contacted when the shipments arrived but rarely was. After a few emails with management we were able to figure out a solution: they would just stock the item (how awesome is it that they wanted to work with me?!) so it would no longer be special order. Well, one day my auto order delivery wouldn't process. For some reason the system was telling me I'm not in the delivery area. I live 0.6 miles from the store and have received delivery from this store before so after another series of emails I learn my delivery store has changed to Central District (about a mile away, double the distance). OK, I'll just come pick the orders up, I don't need delivery. So I go in to get my order and immediately I realize something is off...the nuggets usually move around in the box but these were all congealed into a solid 15lb brick. I should have refused this item but, giving the store the benefit of the doubt (they wouldn't have sold me spoiled food, right?), I just assumed there was a little extra moisture in the product and that was why things were sticking. I had to use a mallet to break the nuggets into servable portions. Big mistake, the dog immediately got sick and it took 2 weeks and $1800 of vet bills (xrays, ultrasound, blood work, stool sample testing, etc) before we determined it was the food. It had thawed as some point during transit, was refrozen, and then sold to me. I spoke with the manufacturer and they assured me the product is frozen from the factory, through transit, all the way through to the retail destination. So, sometime after it was delivered to the store it was not stored at the proper temperature, allowed to thaw, refrozen, then sold to the public. To their credit, when I told the employees all of this they refunded me for the food (about $80). I decided to give All the Best one more chance; I changed stores and now only order from Central District where they have a much bigger store and gave guarantees that frozen items go directly into the large freezer and never thaw. This was 2 weeks ago. I have an auto-order set up for one 15lb box of nuggets every 2 weeks. I've just received a notice that the item is not in stock and my order has been cancelled. What's the point of ordering in advance if the store won't use that information to manage its stock? I realize that there are things outside of the control of the retail store. Sometimes deliveries are late, orders get lost, and things happen. But with this store it's every 2dr or 3rd order that something happens. My dog is 18 months old and I was prepared to set an auto order and just let it ride for the next 10+ years but that's just not feasible here. At least not until they can improve their food storage safety and inventory management problems. I was trying to buy one item every 2 weeks, prepaid (around $200/month), with advanced notice, for the next decade but these guys are, unfortunately, seemingly not up to the task. read more

Not a fan. They keep all kinds of dog treats open at very low to the ground levels. Taking in a dog is like taking an alcoholic to Total Beverage on free sample day. You'd think they'd be sensitive to what this does to dogs - to be around all these unpackaged treats - but in fact according to the store clerk, the owners are well aware but have decided to keep things as they are. It's become common to take pets into pet stores. I am not able to bring my dog into this one. It stresses both of us out! I'm baffled by the decisions of the owners to do this and would welcome their response/reasoning here on Yelp so other customers could make up their minds. What's the justification for keep literally hundreds of treats in open containers one foot off the ground in a pet store? PS was not amused by clerk refusing to share my point of view with the owner: "they've heard this complaint before and have already made their decision" is not giving this customer the feeling that my business is valued. read more

I love this store! There's a Mudbay two blocks from me and while they are good, I make it a point to drive to All the Best Pets for many reasons. Loyalty Rewards Program: I spend $$$$ on a raw diet for my dog and cat. It really adds up but they have an amazing loyalty program that applies to the brands I buy. They also give a birthday gift goodie bag of treats and a toy for my pets! Samples: I have a very finicky cat and been trying to change his food from dehydrated raw to frozen raw. The employees have provided me samples to help find a food my picky cat will love! Return policy: As noted, this picky cat of mine at times refused to try some of the foods I got him. ATBP accepts returns and exchanges for even open products. Also since they track all purchases through the loyalty program you don't have to worry if you lose your receipt! Range of products: They have a wide range of products for cats and dogs! They currently also have some amazing holiday themed stocking stuffers too! I also appreciate the range of CBD products. If you have a pet that suffers from anxiety like car rides, loud noises, etc... I recommend cbd oil drops! It's put my cat at ease during car rides. My only product wish is fresh grown wheatgrass for my cat. They do sell the seeds for it but I wish they carried some that is fresh and ready to eat. Parking: It's street parking but I always manage to find parking right in front or across the street from the shop! Amazing staff: Last but definitely not least is the amazing staff! They are so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! As a bay area transplant and pet care fanatic (former Pet Food Express employee), it has been a journey to try and find my new go-to place but I've finally found it! The store's atmosphere is cozy and inviting and even though it is small, it's packed with the best quality products. They have a wide selection of the necessities (my favorite is the giant raw freezer) as well as toys (super cute selection), clothing, treats and much more. After grabbing a few treats and going up to the register, I was pleased to find out 1. they price match and 2. they have a rewards program where every $400 you spend you get money back toward your next purchase. Riely was super awesome and price matched our raw food, opened an account for us AND took some time to research prices for bulk raw we were interested in. Here's some great plusses about coming here: It seems unlikely, but parking is relatively easy directly on Madison. If you're buying heavy stuff like food and litter, it's definitely recommended. They have all the quality foods, competitively-priced. In regards to their cat litter, I wish they carried the biggest bags of Feline Pine (the best litter!) since I have multiple cats. Well, two of them use the litter box...one likes to poop in front of it, but ATB can't help me with that... The bullysticks are a great value (only beat by Costco). If you buy them singly, it's like throwing your money away! But the multipacks are perfect. They have short ones for small dogs, but the price-point is so good on the long ones, I would consider just sawing them in half if needed. The staff here are remarkably friendly, always engaging and helpful but not overbearing. They also love to feed your (leashed) pet, which is probably why my dog nearly body slams me if she thinks I'm going to ATB without her. And they always have somebody furry up for adoption there. After a lot of therapy (Wooo-sa/I will not show it to the Laker Girls) I can now leave a place without a newly-adopted animal in tow. It's a lot of work but my guy got tired of thinking of new names for our menagerie. Maybe for Christmas, I'll get an IOU for me to pick one (just one!) animal from the shelter. Very friendly and generally helpful staff and a great neighborhood pet place. Not the selection or size of a big Mud Bay, but you don't always need that. One nitpick is that they have some of those "buy X bags, get 1 free" deals with the high-end dog food and the first time we bought, I swear the person said they would track it automatically for us and keep a record. BUT, it seems that was not the case, which we learned after buying several bags worth of $70 food. Good times. I love that it's a locally-owned company and close-by to my house. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about foods. They're also happy to provide samples of the foods and supplements for your pets to see if your pets will take to a certain line of food before you commit to a whole bag. But the staff also hasn't all been on the same page with their promotions. When I first went in ages ago, I was told they had a pet food bag program where they'd keep track of how many bags you bought and eventually you'd get one free. But at different times when I've gone back, I've been told I need to keep track of them, save my receipts and upc on the bags. I've also been told that I wasn't in their system so all the bags I'd bought previously hadn't been recorded or something. Now that Queen Anne Hill has been over-run by condo development ("until Birnam Wood moves to Dunsinane Hill," with lower Queen Anne being B.W.), the Madison Valley store is definitely the best of the small pet stores. Two spacious, comfortably furnished rooms give this a relaxed atmosphere and make for relaxed shopping for your feline or canine friend! Occasional sidewalk sales. As with all the Best Pet stores, there are usually a couple of kittens in a cage from Feral Care available for adoption. Staff do not appear as frazzled by the sheer volume (per cubic meter) of customers as at the Queen Anne store. They seem reasonably informed as well. Afterwards, treat YOURSELF by going next door to the Essential Bakery cafe, or continue walking down Madison--admiring the quasi-San Francisco charm of this still unspoiled, well maintained neighborhood--towards City People's Mercantile and the Arboretum... read more

I initially gave 3 stars because I felt like there was a little too much nudging toward raw food, but that hasn't been an issue at all for quite a long time. This is an overdue upgrade to 5 stars. All the Best is a great pet store with people working there who obviously love animals. Our dog loves going in there, and they're really generous with free treat samples. I love this place. I first came in a few weeks ago looking for a dehydrated food for my dog Maple. The folks at All the Best were so helpful, and they have a great selection of brands to choose from. I ultimately settled on Honest Kitchen. Unfortunately, my little pooch was not the biggest fan. So I took the food back, hoping that they might let me exchange it for something else, but also prepared for them to just say "sorry, dude." Well, not only did they take back the food, but they were super nice about it and again helped me to select another kind. Hopefully this new flavor of Honest Kitchen will do the trick! I also took Maple to All the Best to get her teeth cleaned (anesthesia-free). They have a company that comes in about once a month or so to do this. They take the dogs upstairs to the office to do the teeth cleaning so that there aren't so many distractions. I thought that the teeth cleaning people were very kind and that they did a great job. One more thing worth mentioning: they offer a rewards card that keeps track of your purchases and lets you earn points on the stuff you buy. read more

All The Best Pet Care on Madison is definitely worthy of five stars! It's obvious they love what they do and really care about the animals they see! I wouldn't go anywhere else! All of the staff appear to be very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions and are low-keyed; I've never felt any pressure to buy anything. My 15 year old dog runs up the steps like a puppy to go in, Shey and Ron are amazing! They even remember Cappi by name! Personalized service has always been my experience. A great addition to homemade food are their Animal Essentials Natural Calcium, Missing Link Plus which supports healthy joints, healthy skin and coat and sustained energy levels along with their Pro Den Plaque Off which helps with plaque buildup. They also offer special services, hosting dental cleanings. In the past my dog has had annual cleanings at the vet for $600. Now for $150 his teeth are thoroughly cleaned, it's hard to believe! I must agree with Eric and say that All the Best Pet Care is definitely worthy of 5 star status, though I cannot say the same for the Lake City Way store but I will leave my opinions on that store for another time. The Madison Park staff are way cool and oh so helpful. This was the first store I went in after we adopted Zoe and they let me in on all those little things a new dog owner must need...like treats, treats, treats. Ok, the fact that I spent about $100 on my first visit was less their coaxing and more to do with my need to spend money...and my pampered pooch (or should I say pampered pit ) was a better dog for it. I especially love this store because they don't force you into buying anything and everything just because they want your money. They will make suggestions, give you advice and even give you the odd freebie - like the raw marrow bone thingy they gave me. Yep, the one that left blood stains on my rug, but that was definitely more because my lack of common sense. Now tell me "would you put a raw bone that has bloodied remnants on your carpet for the dog to chew on?" Most definitely not. Well after talking to the friendly gals at All the Best Pet Care they suggested that I leave the bone out to dry up a little before giving it to the dog, and what do you know no more blood stains. All of the staff is so knowledgeable about the products that they seem to have the same understanding as I would expect a manager or an owner to have. I am always impressed that I can ask anyone a difficult question about a product or ask for a recommendation and every person always has a solid answer for me. The products that All the Best carries are top-notch. They have stopped (or at least almost stopped) carrying anything that is made or passes through China (don't quote me on that one) and have very high-quality pet foods to choose from. The products are naturally very expensive, especially compared to somewhere like Petco, but the quality is really there. Just read the ingredients! When you walk into All the Best Pet Care, if you're lucky, this wiry little tree stump of a dog will come skidding up to you across the hardwood floors, sit on one or both of your feet, and await some pets. As my friend Matt would say, "CUTE." This is a super great pet store that feels like the semi-comfortable house of someone you don't know very well but want to spend more time hanging out with. It's bright and well organized, only carrying the things you need and a few extra things you might not have known you need but you totally do (aka Fling-a-Ma-String; ask a cat about it). Their prices are reasonable, the selection is good given the size of the store, and they have semi-regular sales. Luckily/unluckily for me, my three beautiful, wonderful, perfect cats only eat that Gucci cat food that costs more than half a Tropical Mango Breeze roll from Momiji (see yesterday's review) and use this litter that must be half gold dust based on the price tag; All the Best carries the Taste of the Wild and Tiki Cat and Ever Clean that my tiny, furry dictators demand and it's a very short drive from my house to get it. Other bonuses include: two cats always living in the store, available for adoption and typically given free reign over the pet beds, toy aisle, and the arms of visitors; the cool, cute, knowledgable and super friendly staff who ALWAYS offer to help you carry your purchases to your car (even if this is a store policy, it just seems so sincere!); the decent selection of weirdo cat toys and chronic hydro catnip; the fact that they're open every day and there's a 30 minute load zone right out front that's usually empty; pet food donation bin and little containers collecting money for various pet charities all around the store. They totally love animals here, for real. They have a super confusing frequent buyer program that someday pays a $20 dividend. I'm pretty sure I've spent at least $1.2 million dollars here in the last year and I still haven't seen any money back, but I'm assured it's coming any day now. I've yet to visit Pioneer Pet Feed and Supply, which in my mind is the actual perfect pet store (I follow them creepily, religiously on Facebook). Until I'm disciplined enough to drive out to Pioneer Square to make that dream a reality, I'm very happy that my close choice for pet junk is such a great one. read more

People in Seattle love their dogs and the employees at All the Best are no exception. This location is a cozy, welcoming place for both pets and their owners. It offers a variety of quality products, many of which are great for the environment as well as your pet. I am also thankful that they offer Orijen dog food, since it can be hard to come by. This is my local pet shop, so I get the majority of my supplies here; that being said, I have always received excellent service and have almost never had trouble finding items to suite my needs. The staff is always friendly and willing to spend time with you when you have questions. Plus, you can sign up for a free incentives card to earn point s towards store credit with every purchase, which comes in really handy if you are buying supplies for multiple animals like I do. They also offer a variety of other services like dental cleanings on occasion. The only thing I would like to see improvement on is the selection of dog toys. I have had trouble finding toys that are small an durable enough for my Dachshund; he has an incredible ability to pinpoint the weakness in any new toy we get and destroy it in just a few hours. Still, I'm not going to really count this against All the Best since no toy is indestructible and not all dogs are like mine. All in all, I would highly recommend checking this place out. I've had good, great, and indifferent experiences at All the Best. I usually visit this store, but have found that the Lake City Store is about the same--although with better service. They carry a variety of "healthy" pet foods and claim to really know about animal health. There's no information about the training or background of employees, so I'm going to assume here that they are trained in-house. While I like their products, I can raw feed from the grocery store for much less money and significantly less attitude. I come in for cat litter/food and occasionally dog treats. Riley at All the Best recently saved my dog's life. This might sound dramatic, but in all seriousness...she did. Our 18 year old pup, Indie has recently been diagnosed with Kidney Disease. I prepped his homemade food and supplements for hours in preparation for a 9 day trip out of town and lined up his favorite dog sitter and dog walker. In a unexpected change of events Indie spent the first 2 days with our family. Several of the food containers were accidentally misplaced. I called ATBPC in a panic. Riley helped me select a veggie base and raw food combination (plus rice ) that mimicked what I'd prepared at home. Riley then hand wrote the instructions for each item and walked my dog sitter through the process. Indie now enjoys this food more than what I was making and is eating more food (we were at a point where he also kept avoiding meals which was very unlike him).
