Carne asada fries and double jalapeño cheeseburger

My husband and I got the carne asada fries and double jalapeño cheeseburger. I've been in Nevada for 3 years and this burger was the most delicious and flavorful one I've had so far. So yes highly recommend it

    Sam’s Insane Buffalo Wrap

April 5, 2017 Wednesday - 12:30 PM for lunch 1 Adult Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 4 stars Service - 4 stars Background - Saw that they would be near the office. Atmosphere - Beautiful afternoon to wait for your food to made. Truck had great menu placement to make selecting you item easy. Food - I had Sam's Insane Buffalo Wrap. No buffalo in this wrap, but chicken Buffalo wing style. A good amount of chicken in the wrap but the iceberg lettuce was not working for me. Some celery and carrots in the wrap would work great. The side salad was just iceberg lettuce and sliced carrots with dressing. Service - Friendly and face. Hard to see them from the angel you are at when ordering and receiving food. Future - Sure.

Straight Jacket, potato pancake, and Mac & cheese bites. The color green was noticeably absent.

This was an occassion where my curiosity outweighed my sensibilities. Trying new foods/places is not necessarily friendly to the waist line. If I'm going to try a place I want to experience one of their signature dishes not just a side salad. On this occassion, I was on my way to find some kind of sensible chicken salad or the like when I spotted this truck. These are gourmet wraps. I tried their Thai wrap once a few weeks ago as a healthier option/middle ground. This time I went with the Straight Jacket which is a bacon cheeseburger done as a wrap. I had the potato pancake as a side. And since I was already "all in" I tacked on some Fried Mac and Cheese bites. Yes...the effort to be more health conscious was thwarted by the convenience of the truck proximity. The good...Tasty..tasty...tasty food. The burger was huge. The potato pancake was nicely seasoned. The Mac Bites were fatty bliss. I mean it's Mac and Cheese...ultimate comfort food...but in this case it's fried too! The bad...I'm suffering from after lunch remorse. I had to let out a belt notch to accommodate this meal. I see a lot of time on my exercise bike tonight and throughout the week. While the burger parts were done well I found the wrap less appealong than a bun or a roll. I also missed the crunch of lettuce with each bite. While the wraps are a reasonable price tacking on an extra side like the Mac Bites is excessive in quantity and cost. However it may be a good option if splitting a meal with someone. The good news is the staff informed me all their wraps can be done as a salad. I will be stopping by again when they are around. I'm hoping it will be that nice mix of protein "tasty" goodness with the presence of healthy greens. Their wrap selection is diverse so it's worth giving this place a whirl. You'll find something you like.

Choosing Blend as our caterer was easily one of the best choices we made for our wedding day!…read moreWorking with Whitney and the Blend team was an absolute pleasure from the very beginning. They were always quick and responsive to answer our questions and the ease of scheduling our tasting was so easy! We loved that the tasting was an option and we both agreed this was easily our favorite part of the planning process. The only difficult aspect was selecting final proteins, sides, and appetizers because they're all SO good that you wish you could choose them all. The catering team on the day of the wedding were so freaking sweet. They were flexible, rolled with the rain, and didn't skip a beat on timing or set-up. It was important to us to attend our cocktail hour (in lieu of photos and missing out on guests), but as an extra benefit - the second I'd finished an appetizer, the Blend team was magically at my side to give me another. Truly, 10/10 service! In an unexpected moment, one of the Blend catering staff had congratulated us on a beautiful wedding and had then said: "They say rain is good luck on your wedding day because it washes away all the hardship that's come before." I've previously heard that 'rain on your wedding day is good luck', yet I'd never heard the second part of the saying or 'why' it's good luck. She couldn't have known our story, but my husband's a Marine and we've been together for 11 years through countless deployments, exercises, and overseas assignments. Her sharing that with us meant so much and it's stuck as one of the profound moments where I felt incredibly present and rooted on that day. Not only that moment, but all of the Blend staff were so kind and present with all our guests. I would see them laughing and joking and our guests could not stop raving about how good the food was!! They also LOVED that there was the option to go back for seconds. Each of the Blend staff at one point had complimented my dress (it was black!) and they all made me feel beautiful and seen in so many ways. As the late night bites were passed around and one of the trays emptied, the Blend girls joined us on the dance floor and it was such an epic blast. On the logistics front, Blend delivered yet again. We had 2 guests with allergies and 2 guests with dietary preferences and coordinating their needs were so easy. We also discovered one of our guests had a tonsillectomy 3 days before our wedding, so we messaged the Blend team to see if they could make any last minute accommodations and again - they delivered! From the food, to the service, to their people - Blend is one of the best choices you can make for your wedding. I can't recommend them, their food, or their staff enough. Our final selection choices: - Appetizers: Korean beef short rib wrap, pork belly skewer with maple bourbon glaze (MY FAVE), and the tuna tostada (my second fave!) - Mains: The gochujang buttermilk fried chicken thighs and New York steak with au poivre sauce - Sides: Mashed potatoes (we LOVED the smashed potatoes during our tasting, but opted for mashed instead to dip the protein in, IYKYK), grilled asparagus. - Salad: Honey crisp salad - Drink station: apple cider, strawberry lemonade, and cucumber water (This was also such a huge hit for our guests that don't drink! They loved having more options than just soda or water.)

Best caterers in Reno? I certainly think so!…read more I've had the pleasure of enjoying the culinary creations from blend catering at many many many events throughout the years and I finally had a chance to have them cater one of my own! I was looking to host a 40th birthday party for my wife and reached out to the professionals at blend catering to help craft a menu. I knew that I wanted the menu to be entirely gluten-free and be something that could be vegan friendly. They directed me to the Mediterranean section of their menu which has clear influences from Israel and I got really excited because this also happens to be the type of cuisine that my wife loves. We had that za'atar chicken Shawarma, spice cauliflower and carrots, dill infused rice, freshly made hummus and a beautiful Israeli salad featuring a ton of mini heirloom, tomatoes, shaved, radish, and cucumbers all in a tangy vinaigrette, and 100% of the menu is gluten-free and everything except for the chicken was also vegan! The team at blend delivered everything to the venue and set it up in chafing trays for easy service. They provided tongs and spoons necessary for serving the food and we brought our own plates and silverware to make sure that was on brand for the party. The feedback on the food was incredible and even though we ordered food for the exact number of guests that were in attendance, there was even still enough food left over to provide one or two meals afterwards! This crew is top-notch and I recommend everybody do their catering with blend!

The catfish Omg…read more Granted, catfish is not for everyone. But this, this was great! Perfect batter, perfect seasoning, crispy outer, fluffy, tender moist meat on the inside. Not a bone in one of them. Paired with the dirty rice side and a corn bread muffin, this was a meal I haven't had since I left Arkansa over 20 years ago. The catfish was great! The rest of our party was generally pleased. The fried potato wedges were really done nicely, and cold mashed potatoes were excellent. Oddly, must have been an off night, the brisket was chewy than gas station jerky. That's anomalous for this restaurant though, this was the second time I've been here, and it wasn't like that last time. I like the simple clean decor. Not gaudy, not overly done, clean and neat. The service is generally good! Oddly, each time we had a male server, there is a curt attitude to them. The female staff were great though. Polite, attentive and willing to help. One server assisted excellently with a language barrier and the menu. Thank you miss. All in all. Turning into a favorite BBQ place. Well try here one more time to see about consistency. Well worth the visit though Try the catfish

And one of the places the bus took us to was a Maori Hangi, which is sorta like a Luau, only more fun. Cooking a pig in the ground is part of their culture and let me tell you, they know how to cook a pig. It was to die for. Vesta and I met Rob last June, when he was catering a Beer NV event and we were treated to his roast pig and now here is where I compare it to that Hangi Vesta and I went to with Shino and her crew. It was every bit as good. There is just something about roast pig and beer. It's a combination made in Heaven, I'm sure. Flash forward to this morning. Vesta and I pulled into a parking spot on the Sierra Street Bridge at a quarter to seven, behind Rob's van as he was getting out. So naturally, I wanted to take his photo for my Facebook 1001 Days of Faces project so asked him and he said yes. And if you're getting married and you want someone to cater your reception, you might wanna give Rob at Pig Out a call. He's pretty reasonable, his food is delicious and it's different. Your guests will be talking about it for years to come.
