Made the drive to Stanford Shopping Center, today, to visit Allbirds since DH was interested in ordering some shoes from their website. I suggested we go take a look in store so he can try them on. Was disappointed when we walked up to their store and found signs posted on their door & windows saying "This store is closed" and to go shop online on their website (see photos I've posted). After returning home, I discovered that the last Allbirds store in SF also closed. Not sure if there are any other Allbirds stores left in our area. read more

We've worn Allbirds in the past but have always been online purchases, so I was a big surprised/excited when I saw a physical store at the Stanford shopping center! They were having a "30% off entire store" promotion so I was motivated to get something before I leave the store even though I knew I could probably get them cheaper online - it's so much nicer to be able to try on shoes in person before I buy them instead of exchanging via mail when you purchase online. I did end up getting 2 pairs of shoes - but it was definitely hard to get someone to help me with sizes because there were only 2 people walking the floor (and helping customers) & 3 reps are the counter appearing busy (but unsure with what). When I was checking out, I asked multiple times to confirm that the sale was applied because the price was A LOT higher than I had expected. After I walked out with my bag and checked the e-mail receipt, I noticed that the promotion was NOT applied and I had to go back for a refund. My kids and I waited forever to get a salesperson to help us. There was a free salesperson walking around but he said he couldn't help us because he needed to do inventory. Eventually we were helped. They didn't have a size 12 in the model I wanted so they said the could ship me a pair. There were no refunds available on this model but since I wasn't able to try them on the guy said I could bring them back and he would me get a refund if they didn't fit. They didn't fit...I went back to the store and no one would help me get a refund. read more

Came in at 6:55pm (posted close is at 7pm) to buy a pair of shoes for my daughter. Literally had a size in mind and was totally flexible on color, just wanted to avoid paying for shipping for ordering online. Honestly could've been a pretty easy sale, but without asking me what I needed, the guy just told me they were closed. It looked like there were still customers trying on shoes that could've easily been there past 7. I was already on the fence on whether or not I wanted to try Allbirds for myself and my family but definite skipping after this. Bought 2 pair of Allbirds last month. My first, and my last. I had send a pair in month for an exchange. I put that I needed to exchange a size 9.5 for a 10. The exchange never came so I called. They said they had it in their system as an 8 for the exchange so I asked them to change it. They said my return had not come back yet. As it had been a month, the rep said he would release the exchange. Then he informed me he forgot to change it to a size 10, so I would have to wait and do the exchange again. Really dude? You literally just did the exchange and you can't recall it to correct it? I'm done. There are too many other shows out there. read more

My experience in the store was good, the sales associate was very helpful. I have two suggestions for all Allbirds physical stores that I think can boost sales: 1. You have to ask a sales associate each time you want to try on a different shoe. And also, you can't even pick up and feel the shoes on display - they are kind of attached to the wall. Instead, I would suggest they have one pair of the most common sizes (e.g. W7-9 and M9-11) in shoe boxes underneath the display shoe for each model, for ppl to try themselves. 2. Have a few iPads in the store that allows people to browse the different colors for each model and their current price. read more

We looked around the entire Stanford Shopping Center for a pair of men's ankle length rain boots for a long time. Non of the stores carried it with the exception of Allbirds. We found a great pair with outstanding 30% sale. It is a quality made water proof ankle length rain boots, great design, very comfortable and safe on slippery roads during rain. Most importantly the very young staff at this store were extremely professional, helpful, customer friendly, easy to interact with great communication skills. Our entire shopping experience was super pleasant and we spent less than half hour in the store to have our shopping needs met by the great staff. As of today, Allbirds stock is down 44% in the past six months. I hope customer service isn't related to that. I really don't like giving one star reviews, so I'll give it two stars solely on the product. I love the shoes. I have three pairs at home. But if there are three of you behind the counter and you see customers needing help, it's only logical that you stop talking about life and help customers. And I don't mean dumping shoes in front of them and going back to your conversation with the other two. I'll buy online instead and stop wasting my time with people who would rather catch up with their coworkers. read more

My very first visit here was great. Two staffs who helped me out was friendly and knowledgable. I wish I knew the name of them, so I can give a shout out. It's a shame though that I had 180 different experience when I visited a week later. The shoe i purchased was a bit small, so I had to go in for an exchange. As I entered the store, I saw a sign that there is a promotion going on for buy one, get one 30% off. A week ago when I purchased two shoes, it was 15% off. I've had big retail stores apply new promotion to the purchase I made if it was within the acceptable window, so thinking a week difference is worth the try, I asked if 30% off can be applied as I exchange one of the shoes for a bigger size. Well - my mistake in even asking because the staff who took care of me immediately gave me a frown, asking another person "we cant, right?" Then the response i received was no we cant do that unless you return this and purchase another one. ummmm okay, so that's basically yes? So I said oh okay go ahead then. Then they ask me, so you are going to purchase another shoe? I was like huh? no I'm not purchasing another shoe. Look at the receipt, we already purchased two shoes, so all you have to do then is to return the shoe i brought, and process it again as you give me the bigger size.. Long story short, It was a very confusing situation where it could've been simple yes or no convo, and I would've been totally fine to just leave the store with a bigger size shoe and stick with the price i initially paid. But what upset me was the attitude given throughout the process where the staff giving me a frown, exchanging eye contact with another staff and rolling her eyes on the side (yes - i saw you girl, my eye has a great range of peripheral vision LOL). Come on - AllBirds has such great mission of sustainable biz. Please have staffs match up to that standard to provide not so condescending attitude. read more

My fiancé and I have never tried all birds shoes but have heard of them and seen advertising frequently. We were in Stanford Shopping center and decided to pop in. We were greeted immediately with friendly hellos by two different store associates. The store is well lit, organized, and clean. We tried on three pairs of shoes while we were there and were helped by an awesome guy named Luis. He was seriously so nice - he took out the shoes from the box for us and helped us with the laces and when we tried to put the shoes back he insisted that we didn't have to. He answered all our questions and gave us good product suggestions. My fiancé landed on a pair he liked but we didn't purchase since his mom said it'd be a bday gift for him. Luis was nonplussed that after twenty minutes of helping us that we didn't buy immediately in store. He wished us a nice day and we were on our way. Great store experience :) read more

These were touted as "the world's most comfortable shoes" when they first came out. I have purchased Allbirds for years and found I preferred the original design as they were much more comfortable, but as the company grew and became more mass produced, the shoes are not quite as comfortable and seem to not last as long. That said, it is still my go to shoes for running around in. I have around 36 pairs mainly of the wool lounger, and always the one I reach out to first for running around to do errands. read more

New store in the Stanford Shopping Center! The store is aesthetically pleasing and bright. They have their shoes on the left and some exercise clothes on the right. The sales associates were very helpful in answering questions and getting us shoes. Allbirds is a bit odd in that they only do half sizes in certain shoe types. My husband unfortunately really wears a 9.5 but the 9 is often too small and the 10 is often too big. He also has flat feet (no arch) and the shoes here seem to not work well for those with flat feet. The shoes look great though and some of them are indeed waterproof! read more

As a non white customer I did.Not feel comfortable in the store . Perhaps it had to do with my causal appearance? Not sure . Staff person was not enthusiastic greeting me . I replied I'm just seeing what you have . No follow up , no smile , just went on his way . Two younger white females came in and he was full on interactive with them. (Please understand that my english is not fluent enough but I will try to review my experience as best as I can). I visited this store on August 7th and it was my first Allbirds experience. I liked their shoes being comfortable but still cute. However the salesperson ruined the experience. I was taking a look displayed shoes and the salesperson came to me to ask if I want to try the shoes on my size, so I asked her if I can see with two different sizes. She brought two sizes and I tried them by myself. She never asked me if I was ok with the shoes or If I needed any other helps. It was not big deal to me that she did not help me closely but I was very uncomfortable with her facial expression and her tone. I could feel that she was little bit rude and did not want to help me. However I decided to buy the shoes as the shoes had no problems and told her that I want to buy that. She didn't ask me anything and she just brought all the difference size shoes to the counter. In this point I was little bit worried. She looked hassles and unfocus on what she was doing even though their wasn't many customers on that time. In any way I finished my payment and she ungratefully pushed the shoes bag towards me. I came out the store and told my husband that I like this shoes but for some reasons I felt uncomfortable with the salesperson. I came back my home and realized she gave me mismatched size shoes. One is size 7 another is 7.5. She was not carefully check the size and just put them on the box. Now I need to drive more that 30 minutes again to change the wrong pair shoes. If my experience in the store was good and if she nicely treated me, I would be ok with her mistake and did not post this review. However I couldn't stand that I spent my money and time just to get this undesirable experience. read more

Bait and switch! DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO AN EXCHANGE!!!! Was returning a pair of shoes on the 19th that were exchanged on the 23rd! Though the return policy says 30 days and it's only been two weeks, they are using the receipt from the original purchase that was purchased on the 13th which I don't have those shoes! Be very cautious when you purchase anything at the store and don't exchange!!! They will use your exchange as the original date and tell you that you're outside of the 30 days. I usually just buy my allbirds online but I happened to need to grab a new pair before my Disneyland trip tomorrow so I figured I could just jump by at their Palo Alto location after work to grab the pair I wanted. I have only been to one other retail location for the brand and that was their outlet location in Livermore. The store upon walking in was very spacious. They have the shoes modeled along the left side upon entering, with all the sizes and pairs behind the cashier. The right side of the store has a handful of offerings of their clothing line. I came in on a Tuesday around 4pm. There were a handful of customers trying on shoes already. I had a work from home day today so I was dressed pretty casually (ie: hobo with leggings and flip flops ). Probably why I was not approached directly. I had to wave someone down to try the pair I wanted. I tried them on just to be certain everything felt good (never know even though I'm a reliable same size across the brand!) I was in and out under 5 mins and dropped over 100 dollars on a pair. - star for having to wave someone down to help when employees were casually chatting amongst themselves. Don't underestimate potential customers just on how they dress. Especially when you need to request service to try or pick up products. In the future I'll probably either order online or just make the trip to the outlets. I prefer being able to check out the product on my own rather than waiting on someone to assist me. read more

I simply stated my issue and the sales associate was very rude and aggressive towards me and accused of bashing the shoe and asked me to leave the store. A friend of mine raves about Allbirds being oh so comfy. Since I'm on on my feet for nearly 8 hours a day, I decided to purchase a pair. I am a true to size 5 but some of the styles just doesn't fit right. The back of my feet would slip in and out when I walk. I assume it's because of how soft the material is on the onside. I couldn't purchase the style I wanted because of this issue so I opted for something else. I don't know if they earn commission here but I was really bothered by the way the salesperson rushed my mom and I to buy our shoes. I barely put on one shoe to try and the worker would ask me if I like it. I don't know dude.. I just put it on. I told them I liked the look of it so far and that was enough for them to rush me to bring it to the register and pay. I'm sorry, can I put on both pairs and stand up for a second to see how comfy it is and how I feel about it first? Same thing happened with my mom. It was uncomfortable watching them stand there staring at us putting on one shoe and not giving us time to feel it out. Mom and I decided to each get a pair. Moms old school so she paid in cash. She gets her money out and I help double check it before giving it to the worker and this worker reaches out and tries to grab the money from our hands before we even finished counting them. I have been wanting to try Allbirds shoes, and was glad to find an Allbirds store nearby at Stanford Shopping Center. I went there today. There were very few customers, and two or three employees. The employees mostly ignored the customers. One finally came to see what I wanted. He brought me only one of the styles in which I expressed an interest, then disappeared again. Eventually I got him to bring one more. I asked about other colors, and he looked them up on an iPad. I asked if those colors were available in the store. No - he would have to order them. This is something I could just as well do myself online at home - which I just did. By the way, the chairs where one sits to try on shoes are likely to dump the customers into the floor - so sit down carefully and watch your balance. The only useful information I got from my trip was to ascertain my correct shoe size. I buy most of my shoes at Footwear Etc., a small local chain with fabulous shoes and great customer service. In all seriousness I think the Allbirds employees I saw today should visit a Footwear Etc. store (or several), observe, and learn how to do their jobs! You seem to have a quality product, but without quality customer service, you won't be able to sell it. read more

Love Allbirds but I would not recommend this store. I went to the store on Sunday, May 29th mid-day. There must have been over 8 very young salespersons working. Instead of actually helping customers, they were talking to each other. I had to interrupt two women to get help. I tried on two different styles, salesperson never returned to ask me about fit or if I needed anything. I finally flagged down another salesperson to try on another style - he came back said nothing in my size but didn't ask if I wanted to try another color. I flagged down a third salesperson who helped me. Again, none of them ever came back to ask how I was doing. The store was not packed. I eventually decided on shoes but I was having a hard time putting the shoes back in the box and kept dropping the four pairs of socks I was buying. No help. Finally get in line to buy when someone asks me if I need help. I asked to speak to the manager (another very young person) I told her that I had a terrible experience and she said thank you for my feedback as she turned around and went to the back room. So no, I wouldn't recommend this store. I will go to the store in SF or just order online. That's how bad the service was. read more

I, and a friend, received Allbirds for Christmas. The shoes are comfortable and appear to hold up well. We both decided to purchase another pair, the comfort and durability seemed to justify the price. I called the Palo Store, and they said they closed at 7. After work we drove straight to the store and the doors were locked and they were cleaning at 6:45 pm. Frustrated and disappointed I contacted the Allbirds corporate and got back a generic "Sorry for the inconvenience we will notify the store" response. I was expecting more of a personalized response from the company that stressed customer service. The shoes are great, but the customer service so far has not been impressive, and if you're going to the store go well before the posted closing time so as not to waste your gas. read more
