I could bring it in and then it would sit for 4-6 weeks before they could look at it. I asked If I could make a reservation to bring it in in 4-6 weeks and was told no. A quick google search brought me to Austin Sewing Machines. I called them about service, and guess what, they gave me a reservation to bring in the machine in 4 weeks. Well how about that!? The cleaning/maintenance price was very fair. They had the machine for about 3 weeks and called to let me know when it was ready. They told me step by step what they had done and what was replaced, etc. I held my breath for the final price and it was amazingly reasonable and fair. I was over the moon. Picked up the machine a day or two later. They went over the repairs again, and reminded me there is a 90 day warranty. My machine is happy and working just fine now. This is the new shop for me even though it means a 50 mile round trip rather than a 10 mile round trip to the other store in Austin. The store is clean and bright and the folks working there are lovely. Going to make the trek up north to check out their fabrics and notions.

Unlike others, they offer a wide variety of fabrics too- not just what the shop owner likes, but muted, kids prints, vibrant patterns and solids. I was assisted by the very knowledgeable and helpful, Rachel. After being measured, she recommended % Jobst pantyhose. She worked with me taking pains to assist and teach me. Prior to posting this review, I read through many and I would certainly put my experience in the very positive column. To those who have said you were upwards to 25% higher than other establishments, I must disagree. My pantyhose were $90. The Amazon price was $80. I find the additional $10 was a small price for pay for Rachel to have spent a lot of time with me. She was patient and kind. Should I choose to buy a second pair I will not order from Amazon, but rather call to have you send them or revisit the store. You provide a valuable service. Additionally, you are a small local business. I like to support local and I feel you and others like you have a right to make a profit. The only suggestion I would make would be to have a few videos available on your website for those of us who need reinforcement on how to put such things on and take them off. We swapped out our existing chrome faucets for gold hardware, and the difference is night and day. The previous faucets had a very sleek, almost Star Trek-ish look (a fun nod to my hubby, who is a serious sci‑fi fan), but they no longer fit the direction the bathroom was taking. Once the rest of the space came together, it was clear the chrome felt out of place. The new gold faucets align beautifully with the overall design and add warmth and elegance to the room. They tie everything together in a way the chrome simply couldn't. What felt like a small change ended up making a big visual impact, elevating the finished space and giving it a more cohesive, intentional look. If you're on the fence about switching hardware finishes, this is proof that even after the "big" remodel work is done, thoughtful finishing touches can truly transform the final result. I was literally wowed when I walked into their showroom last Saturday. It was a mecca for everything home. Honesty, if you can't find it here, I don't know where you can. The only quibbles I have is that they do have departments and specialists for each department. I worked with Aaron in appliances but he could not help me with anything other than appliances. I also spoke with Kelly the day before by phone--both extremely pleasant to work with. Their computer system is not tied into their floor inventory, and apparently hard for even their staff to navigate, making identification of available stock on floor challenging without eyes on. Their desk phones are not wireless, so checking on an item on the floor means holding or calling back from cellular. This is a small, family-owned business. Now that Harway is no longer family owned and a part of the Ferguson brand, the choices for shopping local are dwindling. But don't let family-owned mean expensive. They price match with big box and offer much better service to compete strongly. Although I did not buy that day, I have them in mind for a couple of items. Recommended. Five stars.

I was shocked and very disappointed as the watches weren't even valued at that yet one of the watches had tremendous sentimental value. I then took them to another jewelry shop and they sent me to Hilderbrand Jewelers. When I brought my watches in the gentleman who greeted me took my watches to the back for evaluation. In a very short time, he came back and told me that both watches could be repaired for $25 each. They just needed to order the parts. I was SO happy!!! My watches were ready in just under a week and I couldn't be more pleased!!! I will take all my watch repair needs to Hilderbrand Jewelers in the future. They also had beautiful jewelry! When I picked up my watches I learned that this is a family owned business and it shows!

Honey Bee Quilt store was my destination as I was seeking a quilt restoration location. Honey Bee Quilt store was lined with beautifully designed and sewn quilts. Interestingly, you can rent a large quilting machine in store. Someone was sewing a quilt while I was in the store. Of the quilt stores I have frequented, Honey Bee has the largest and most intricately sewn quilts. When I was small child, I remember my mother hand sewing these beautiful quilts. These were not the beautiful quilts with perfect squares, octagon or star patterns. In addition, they did not have the white filling that some quilts have nowadays. However, they were extremely warm, cozy and made with love. My mother sewed her quilts from clothing that her children no longer wore and from pieces she found in thrift stores. The inside of her quilts were clothing laid flat and tacked together. Rewinding to those times, I sat in a red Mexican wooden chair with little colorful flowers across on the back of the chair with a strong Raffia like seat. As my mother sat and sewed her quilts, I read to her, which is first how I gained a love for reading. While I grew up in a single parent household, it was filled with a tremendous amount of love and laughter. My father died as result of a work-related accident when I was 7 seven years old. I associate my mom's quilt with the love in our household and my love of her. Fast-forward to today, my one and only quilt I have from my mom has materials that are moving around. Therefore, they need to be redistributed and tacked down. This restoration effort first led me to a store on Anderson Lane and then to Honey Bee Quilt store. Unfortunately, both stores only sale sewing supplies and/or sewing machines. I met the nicest woman at Honey Bee that referred me to a Sewing Guild in Austin. So, I am extremely hopeful that one of the ladies in the Sewing Circle can help restore my mom's quilt, which has a great deal of intrinsic and sentimental value.

Tucked into a shopping strip I wasn't sure what to expect but the fabric selection was nice and it varied from my normal local quilt shop so that was fun. The staff were friendly and they were extremely busy. I really loved the selection of patterns and pattern books. Definitely plan to go back and peruse a bit more leisurely next time. Open Monday-Saturday and nowhere close to my home office, I'm limited on when I can get there, but will be worth the effort now and then.
