You know what, I had a pretty decent experience with Allegiant, especially since my recent experience with other airlines have been pretty bad. My Allegiant flight took off on time, there was plenty of space in seats for everyone and my in plane experience was fine. The only real detraction I've had is that ticketing is far from their actual gates, but part of that isn't their fault but the airport's since there's so much construction going on. It still was a pain to have to go to the counter to check my bag-it was for free but I had to have that verified in-person and not online so it was a little extra harrowing to make that time hack as well as factor in the additional friction of getting shuttled to the gate, picture those old people movers at IAD or a city bus, just waiting, waiting, waiting until you think you might miss your flight. BUT, my flight wasn't delayed by hours, nor was it unexpectedly canceled nor did they lose my bag which also had the added benefit of me not having to wait for hours calling a customer service line. read more

Allegiant cancelled my flight without telling us the reasons. The next available flight is 2 days away. the customers have to pay for the extra cost from hotel, car rental etc. I tried to call the agent to reschedule, but I was put on a hold for 2 hours, still nobody picked up my call!!! read more

If you're flying into Los Angeles, be aware that Allegiant does not have a terminal there. My out-of-town family's experience: Flight ended at night on the tarmac Let off the plane onto a dark runway area Waited until a plane taxied by to cross the road to get into an unmarked van which shuttled them 10+ minutes to baggage claim. No disclosure of this when booking the flight Not ideal, especially when you're elderly or are traveling with small children. read more

September 22, 2024, flight 454, departed Des Moines airport. Destination, John Wayne Airport, California. As the stewardess passed out refreshments, I asked for a plastic cup of water. I was told, I can only buy a bottle of water with my credit card, no cash. I didn't have a credit to charge, yet had cash. I was told, she did not cash. cash. I was having a medical event in which, my mouth was drying to. foam. I couldn't speak clearly and I was struggling to breath. I asked if I cohave a cup, to get water from the bathroom sink and was told no. I went on to start a panic attack. The passenger sitting next to me, compassionately bought a bottle of water for me. That man saved my life. While the stewardess continued to walk by me and ignore me, didn't even ask if I had trash at the end of the trip. Allegiant does not have a humanitarian policy to give water free. Just know, if your gonna fly with Alligent, be hydrated. Called customer service, waited 1 hour, 42 minutes to speak to a rep. Told them of my experience. Was told it was reported. I asked if I'd hear back with a response. I was told no. So, off to society media and news networks I go with this. #waterislife read more

I've flown Allegiant about 30 times or so in the past 2.5 years. Here's what I like: Great prices if you can pick your dates. Early boarding, free drink and discounts periodically for their B of A credit card holders (only $59 per year and I only use it for Allegiant flights). Planes are clean, flight attendants mostly nice and direct flights to my destination. I've had 3 or 4 flights cancelled and when it's their fault, I was nicely compensated for my troubles. Another 4 or 5 flights were delayed but only 1 was more than an hour or so. However, I just do my work at the airport so time isn't wasted. I only carry a personal bag with me so no fees there and since I want to sit near the back, I pay $1 for a middle seat back there and hope the flight isn't full. Thus, still inexpensive flight...and again, direct! What I don't like: 1. Texts and e-mails are not early enough when there are delays or cancellations. I'd like to be kept informed so I don't go the airport too early. 2. They no longer fly our of LAX to my destination. John Wayne airport much farther for me but doable. 3. Yes, this is a wimpy one but.... they no longer offer the sweet tea as a drink....that was my favorite! Finally, I've flown a number of other airlines and have met with the same kind of problems periodically. BTW, I have noticed that most of the other airlines (even United) are now offering different fares, the cheapest of which also do not allow seat selection or free bags...and are still more expensive than Allegiant. I noticed a lot of 1 star ratings on this site and a few have horrific stories which probably earned that rating. But it seems to me that many others were from folks grabbing a cheap fare and then resenting the extra fees or something else that could happen on any airline. I've had awful experiences as well on various airlines (remember Christmas last year?) but crap happens sometimes so I do not judge a company based on one or two experiences. Anyway, while Allegiant is not 100% perfect, I am still a satisfied customer so far. read more

We have been trying to reach out to Allegiant regarding this reservation for over a week with no response and are starting to get very frustrated. We spent close to three hours on hold last week with no answer or option to receive a callback, and today your customer service number goes straight to a busy signal. The live chat service on your website appears to be nonfunctioning. And we sent an inquiry by email last week with no follow-up despite receiving an automated reply saying we would receive a response within 48 hours. We were forced to cancel our previous flights over Christmas last year because we tested positive for Covid. We were informed that we had to use our flight credit by the anniversary date of when we purchased the tickets (not, as we believed, by the anniversary of the date of the actual flight). We have tried to use this credit to travel this summer, but due to your airline's extremely limited number of destinations and scheduled flights, we have been unable to do so. I am a high school teacher, so as soon as the school year starts up again I will be unable to travel again until the holidays, which is after the anniversary of our purchase date. Your airline's unnecessarily restrictive rebooking policy and our absolute inability to contact anyone in your customer service department has been incredibly frustrating to say the least. All we would like to do is extend the timeframe to use our flight credits until the end of the year so we can use it to fly home for Christmas this year. If we cannot find a reasonable solution to this very simple problem and we end up losing this flight credit, it will definitely be the last time we ever fly with Allegiant. This Allegiant is possibly the worst airline I've ever encountered. Before flying out of Montana I provided my documentation for a emotional support animal and even there they said if we have problems in Los Angeles file a complaint. So flying back after my father's funeral I forgot my paperwork at my moms and at the time of boarding we were denied boarding because I didn't have it in hand. The supervisor even berated me in front of other passengers asking my disability etc. really people how embarrassing and unprofessional. I will be filing a formal complaint about their employee. Needless to say we had to rent a one way car back to Montana 1400 miles!! read more

We had booked our flight to VPC for 2/13/2025 also a return flight to BLV on 2/17/2025. Flight 3103 was originally scheduled at 5:13 PM but was delayed until 6:35 PM. We had also paid for check-in baggage on both flights. When we returned to BLV airport at 5:15 PM the baggage check-in counter was closed! We were instructed to proceed to security with our bags, however some expensive items in my wife's bags could not be checked through. Since the items were expensive, the TSA agent advised us to take the items back to our vehicle since we had plenty of time before boarding. The time was now approximately 5:30 PM. On my return to the terminal at approximately 5:45 I heard an announcement for final boarding for our flight. I again had to go through security and my wife and other passengers went to our gate only to be told the doors were closed and we could not board. This was at 5:55. We simply could not believe this had happened. Another passenger with 2 small children was in the same situation. Allegiant failed in several areas. 1. Closing the baggage check-in early. 2. Stopping boarding early when clearly there we passengers at the gate. I believe the flight was overbooked and Allegiant had the opportunity to resell our seats, particularly right before a holiday. Because we had booked a return flight with Allegiant we had no choice but to purchase seats on a flight on 2/14. I am extremely disappointed in your airline . Our family have been Allegiant customers every since flights were offered at MidAmerica airport, but unless some type of compensation is forthcoming our family will never fly Allegiant again. read more

We purchased two tickets several months ago for a trip from Santa Ana to Eugene. This was the only weekend that worked for both our daughter and us to visit her for the summer. We were completely packed, ready to walk out the door to the airport when we received the dreaded text saying the flight had been canceled. There was no warning, nor was there any reason for the cancellation. There is also only one flight out of Orange County. We tried to shift dates around along with neighboring airports, and could not get in to see her. Even though we got full refund, we still do not get to see our daughter this summer and need to re-book for fall. They need to do a better job of servicing the small flight options they have. Because one cancellation means all of those people can't get to where they're going with no other availability or options like other airlines have. read more

I made flight reservations with this airline on June 24, 2021. They cancelled my flight two days prior to my departure on August 1, 2021. They do provide a contact phone number. You will either get a busy signal or if by chance you get through you will be on hold for like, ever! I waited 45 minutes listening to their awful hold music and automated voice promising you someone will be with you shortly. If you do not want to experience a bad day, I suggest you pass on this airline for your travel purposes of any kind. It's worth spending the extra money with a premium airline. read more

It is extremely disturbing that the flight from LAX to PASCO, WA has been delayed for nearly 6 hours. My 16 y/o child has been patiently waiting, since 1pm to board a 3pm flight. He has been given ONE ONE $8 food voucher and nothing ELSE!! This is unacceptable & utterly ridiculous! I can't drive back to pick him up at his departure airport because we'll lose our flight money. Family awaiting his arrival has had to rearrange schedules and pick up times. Do you people have any idea the inconvenience & trouble this has caused my child, family & us (parents) This is the first time flying with you and it will be the last. He's worked hard a summer long to save for this trip and this is the experience you give your customers?! What's a 16y/o child, alone at a boarding waiting room supposed to do?!! read more

I flew Allegiant Direct to the Midwest. It was approximately a 3 hour flight on an Airbus 319. I am usually a very frequent flyer and lover of SWA, however their rates were not competitive at the time we wanted to travel so we thought we would try Allegiant which quoted us a cheaper fare...sorta. First off, you check-in for Allegiant at Terminal 1 at LAX. This is where SWA & Delta are located. After going through the usual TSA screening, you walk to the announcement monitor to see what gate your flight is leaving from. This is where the real fun begins. After not seeing a coinciding gate number or even seeing the name "Allegiant" on the board, a nice security/helper came over to us and asked what she could do and we explained not seeing Allegiant on the board. "You need to go down this escalator, referring to the one on the opposite side of the entrance and catch the shuttle bus to the terminal. So, that is what we did. First of all, may I say, that if you are challenged physically you need to be careful and may require assistance in entering and disembarking the shuttle because it is about at 15-17" Hike up/down to get on board. (This message may also apply to folks with babies, toddlers, strollers, etc.) After riding on the shuttle for about 3/4 of a mile, you get to the mystery terminal. It is a beautiful new building somewhere at the airport. It is hard for me to say where, and I have been flying out of LAX since I was a year old. I just couldn't figure out where it is, but I would guess it is somewhere behind the Bradly International? Maybe I will Google Map this. So, you do the same thing in reverse when you arrive at this terminal. You get off the shuttle, which can be full of people (Covid?) and you may have to stand (fine if you prefer). Then you ride the escalator - providing it is working, or take the elevator (Crowded/Covid??) to the second floor of a new and very beautiful terminal. When you arrive at the top floor, you will see a lot of light from a wall of glass. Make note of this because this is where Allegiant boards. At the very end of at least I would guess 1/3-1/2 mile walk (notice the steps to physically challenged, toddlers, babies, don't check in that stroller.) The Good: The Airbus is a fine plane. If you have not flown one before, when it backs out of the gate it makes a whirring noise. This is standard the flight crew will not notice it but passengers may. "What you hear is a device called the power transfer unit, or PTU, which is designed to ensure adequate hydraulic pressures during single-engine operations. (P.Smith ask the Pilot website, ref.). So, know that everything is okay. I feel that the ceiling height is a bit taller in the AB 319 and the overhead luggage bins are easier to access, just a bit. So, based on this, I will give Allegiant a 75. I have flown the Boeing planes on SWA even the newest that was grounded, three times, and I was just not a fan, even before they were grounded or had caused problems. On The Boeing 737 Max 8, we didn't like the seating, the fuselage configuration made it seem a bit tight (we are on the taller side). Maybe most people wouldn't even notice. But when you sit there for a few hours, you may gain some preferences. During the flight, the pull out the cart and SELL their beverages - yes, water, soda (of course alcohol, this isn't First Class), and the same chip bags you pay a dollar or two at the convenience store for double that. No nuts were served (in case you are allergic). This was really bizarre, they had a pre-recorded ad played on the speakers for their Points Credit Card and the flight attendant came down the aisle with a stack of the applications to hand out. That was just weird. First, they sell overpriced snacks and beverages to a captive audience that came two-three hours prior to boarding a 3 hour flight, it seems a bit.....greedy. The Ticket Price!! Is not the real price. So when they bait you with a $36 or $49 fare, guess what? You have to pay for the seat. Uh, huh. "No, I will stand for 3 hours...to save the $129 to pay for an assigned seat (I like having an assigned seat) paying to bring a personal item like a purse or iPad, and a carry-on bag. You can buy these items separately, but they say you get a better deal on the package price. Checked bags are $40 for 40 lbs. So, this is where Allegiant is not anywhere near the level of service of SWA. SWA will not hard sell you refreshments (cart came down the aisle two times in the daytime, once on the night flight), SW will let you have a free carry-on, and two checked bags. And, SWA doesn't charge you for a seat, because they understood you were in agreement with them and the FAA, that you would not be standing for your safety and comfort. So, this is where Allegiant gets poor marks from me. Our departing flight was on time. The Returning flight was about ten - fifteen minutes late but made up for it. read more

Horrible service! Both of my flights through them were delayed by multiple hours! And we didn't learn they were delayed until after we already figured it out because we still weren't boarded. The only free bag you can print is a personal one, and have to pay for carry on. You have to pay for all snacks and drinks. The seats are very small and uncomfortable and the food trays were even smaller! Overall it was a very bad experience. I would not fly with them again and I recommend you fly with someone else as well! read more

Very satisfied. I was so frightened by the reviews I read on here. I was expecting a plane that was in horrible condition inside and out. I was expecting flight delays and to be nickel and dimed for everything. Truth of the matter is that it was clean on time and the staff was very nice and helpful l. I spent 212 for NON STOP flights from LAX to tulsa Oklahoma which included my seat selection for my flight there and back and my suit case there and back. Overall I saved about 150 by choosing to go with allegiant and not another commercial airline. Also this is a NON STOP FLIGHT to tulsa oklahoma folks..come on that is awesome! You cannot get that with any other commercial airline. The only cons I can think of for the fancy people are... -No food services on board only snacks chips and peanuts etc. -No TV's on the plane or behind the seats... bring your tablets guys -seats don't recline- don't catch a red eye plane you won't be able to sleep. -seats are not comfortable. They remind me of stiff baseball arena seats. No cushion. -lax terminal for allegiant is odd. No seating area. If you can live with these minor cons... you will be fine. You will be so happy with your savings. read more

If I could give a minus star rating I would. Definitely the worst airline I've ever flown!! On my return flight home I showed them the same tags for my service animal that I used on my original flight with them & they denied my flight even though they allowed the tags to be more then enough for my original flight. Missing my flight home from Memphis to lax on a Monday afternoon, there next flight wouldn't be until Friday evening! The guy at the counter was so rude & disrespectful about what type of service my dog provided. Galvin c hill has probably the worst costumer service skills I've ever encountered & should not be working job where you're being paid to "service" humans. Specially with all the stress that traveling encounters. Ontop of that horrible experience after buying a last minute flight with a different airline, it took me over a week to get my luggage from lax because NO ONE is ever there! It's crazy this company actually gets business. But as they say. You get what you pay for. & their service is as cheap as the flight. read more

I traveled with this airline all the time. Never had any problems with my carry on small backpack. But today the guy by the boarding gate Robin gave me so much problems and ask me for $50 cash for my backpack. That was the only thing I had carry on . He was very rude and wouldn't let me get on the plain till I paid him $50 cash. I was the last person getting on the plain . He said I must pay him $50 cash or I miss my flight . He put the cash in his pocket . In LAX . This is a picture of my backpack. Our flight was at 7 am , now is 8 am still sitting in very hot plain . The plain air-condition does not work because they can not start the plain . Everybody is getting very aggravated. read more

I bought my tickets on Allegiant because - flying from LA to Northern KY, there aren't a lot of good options. I won't fly any route that isn't direct so my options are limited. Allegiant seemed a bit cheaper, but after you factor in all the added costs, it was maybe $100 less. I will gladly pay Delta the extra $100 to never fly Allegiant again. They charge for EVERYTHING. And they don't make it easy. They don't have curbside check-in for your bags (that you've already paid for) at any airport... so you have to wait in line. You pay for checked bags AND for carry-on bags. And if you don't pay in advance you are going to pay a lot at the gate. They charge $5 if you don't print out a boarding pass. Also, your bag has to be under 40 pounds -- the standard for most airlines is 50 pounds. If you're over 40 pounds, you're gonna have to pay. The flight attendants seem pissed off to be working for this junk airline - we also hate it for you that you are doing this for a living... but be kind and this might make it better? They will not even give you a cup of water. The woman sitting next to me had a dog and she just asked for a cup of water... NOPE... They only sell bottles of water. NO free water. They also don't have hot coffee. Now, hot coffee on airlines has been a thing since... FOREVER. But you cannot get a hot beverage on this airline. NO COFFEE. They will try to sell you a "cold coffee beverage". That is NOT the same. Your seat won't recline. There is no seat back pocket. You will be in misery for the length of the flight. There is no Wifi, there is no comfort. This is like taking a dirty city bus. I didn't really save any money - I chose this because they offered a well-timed direct flight between LAX and CVG... but I would NEVER do it again. A complete shit show of an airline... read more

Worse than spirit airlines by far, didn't know that was possible. They canceled my flight 3 days before I was supposed to fly with no reasoning, couldn't offer me a rescheduled flight, and I didn't get a refund for months. Had to find a new flight 2 days before and it cost me double the price because it was so last minute. Customer service is as awful as everyone else has been saying; its been over three months now and they still haven't gotten back to me. They just send you automatic "we're sorry for the delays! maybe check our FAQ and you'll be able to figure it out yourself! :)" messages. Highly recommend just avoiding allegiant at all costs. read more

I thought this airline was halfway decent until I've had a couple issues, and now a plane that was built before I was born? unbelievable to even have a plane in service that you have to put security seal on the toilet because it is separating from the wall. Not to mention how loud the plane was to the point you had to raise your voice to have a conversation with the person next to you. Also it's not like the tickets are always cheap I paid $245 one-way and $147 for the return California to Oregon. The only reason why I even thought about flying with them is they are the only flight direct the other airlines I'll have a layover either in Portland or San Francisco. Looks like i'll be seeing a lot of Portland or San Francisco read more

Absolutely the worse air line. zero customer service, if you want to get touch with customer service phone at 702- 508-8888 is IMPOSSIBLE. Anytime night or day the phone is busy. Even if the phone rings you have to wait another 2 to 3 bourse hoping someone to answer. they lost one of my baggs in flight from Springfield Missouri to LAX. on April 6/22 when i arrived at LAX, no one was around, no one at check in counter up stairs and no one at the office by Carousel. waited in LAX for two hours and i couldn't find any allegiant personal. couldn't find anyone. since that day in last 20 I have sent more than 20 emails to customerservice through Allegiant airlines site, their instagram sites and directly to emails, made more than 20 phone calls and staying on hold more that 30 hours. today is April 20. I still have no news about my luggage. today i have been on hold more than 3 hours , still no one comes on line . that is what you get at ALLEGIANT, problems, lost luggage and aggravation.. We had good experiences with Allegiant Air in the past, but what they did today is unconscionable. Yesterday morning they texted to say it was time to check in for our flight, which was scheduled for 24 hours from that time, at 9:23 a.m. Then at 2:25 this morning (yes 2:25 a.m.) we received a text stating that our flight was cancelled. No reason for the cancellation was given, but it apparently was not due to COVID or any other legitimate reason. It seems that the flight we were scheduled for is now, suddenly, available only on Saturdays. We then had to request a refund, but there were issues with that, so we called. The wait time was about an hour to speak to a customer service representative. We have saved money by flying Allegiant in the past, but they will not have my business again. read more

Just arrive 20 minutes before your flight and they take care of everything. My favorite part is that they have their own security so you don't have to go through the regular tsa security. I know a lot of people have a lot of complaints about Delta Airlines. But, you have to keep everything in perspective with all domestic carriers. They're all pretty much the same. They all try to do a good job. But, sometimes problems arise. Hopefully that won't happen to you. Personally, I've never had any real issues with Delta Airlines First Class. Sure, sometimes the flights are a bit delayed, but they've never been massively delayed or anything like that. That's a good thing. In terms of service, I really recommend that you fly First Class on Delta Airlines. Sure, it's not anything near International First Class. That's a completely different ball game. But, flying domestic first class really gives you a bit of an advantage. First of all, you get to board the plane first. Meaning, you're allowed to get to your seat, put your bag away, and sit back and relax while all the other passengers struggle to find their seat and a place to put their carry-on luggage. In terms of what they offer for food and drink, it's all complementary. Is it great food? No, not really. It's pretty much what can be expected. But, it is a step above economy class, and certainly you don't have to pay for it. This is the same with their drink menu. Anything you want to drink, alcohol included, they provide to you for free. Plus, you do get a considerably larger seat than the ones they offer in economy class. Overall, as with all flights, you just have to be prepared to accept what's going to happen. Certainly, we all want the best experience possible. And, for the most part, Delta Airlines has never let me down. But, you have to be willing to roll with the punches. The best way to do that, I believe, is to fly Delta First Class. It really takes a lot of the edge off the trip, and makes the whole flying experience a whole lot better.

My plane left Los Angeles International (LAX) exactly as scheduled, flight preparations were organized and folks got in line according to their assigned zones. Many of our senior citizens in wheelchairs were allowed first and there were a lot of staff who facilitated the departure protocols. The flight was very smooth with some bumpy ride along the mid-flight but seems comparably similar with any other flights I've taken everywhere. The stewards and stewardesses seemed not so sweet and focused, not the usual, can we offer you something"? I'd say, it's probably cultural although this are just observations on my part, since this time, I bought an economy class ticket during the last minute. Eva Air has the best food compared to other airlines that fly the SEA route, chicken pasta, Chinese-style cooking and a comprehensive fruits and sandwich galore accompanied our meals. The timeline for serving food and snacks was perfect, not so late nor early, just about right. They also seem to recognize our need to sleep and allowed quiet and dark during our flight and bathrooms were also clean and fully packed with everything we needed. One observation is the wide seats and better spacing of their plane compared to other Asian airlines, who pack their seats and seem very tight and skimpy. The stay over transition was alright although they (Eva Airlines transition staff) keep asking for printed tickets in Taiwan when some of us had difficulty activating our phones to show them our online boarding tickets. Since passengers aren't able to access anywhere, they should have a better way of not trying make us feel, we have to painstakingly look for a WiFi access (was too weak for an international airport and inconvenient to those travelers just passing by) to be able to show them our boarding tickets again! Our transfer trip wasn't too bad as we safely landed in Manila on time as scheduled, and smoothly.

I liked it so much that I flew them again to Japan despite a longer travel time (they connect through Taipei) rather than paying for mediocre service on an American carrier.
