Adj: Acceptable, Affordable, and a bit Above Average So this is a budget airlines and the expectations should really match that. We've flown Allegiant Air a number of times and on average it's been pretty good. We pack light and only bring on our backpacks so we avoid the baggage fees. There are lots of fees, but we just don't buy any of those extras, such as picking our own seats. Since our flights are usually from Stockton to Phoenix, AZ, the flights are short and therefore we can put up with sitting in less than ideal locations on the plane. They always seat parents with their children, at least 1 parent with 1 child, so no child is ever left to sit by themselves, so the whole choose your own seat thing isn't important to us as long as there's 1 parent with 1 or both of our children. In fact, when you're booking your flights, a child cannot book on their own, there must be an adult's ticket booked at the same time, that ensures safety and also that the parent on the same booking will be seated with that/those child(ren). The comfort level isn't great as the seats are quite hard, they're acceptably cushy, but bring your own donut seat cushion or whatever you need if you are looking for extra back and bottom support. We like that the planes are Airbus and not Boeing ones, but that's not the biggest thing. The most important issue of course is safety, and we've experienced very professionally piloted Allegiant flights that are safe and smooth. The flight attendants have been good to great, and the pilots very competent and professional. 1-star taken for when they do have some delays (necessary) and some of them have been quite long such as waiting to depart b/c of some technical issues (understandable) and also once we were waiting for our checked item (really discouraged us from checking any luggage ever again) for over an hour after arrival. AWARENESS: I recently flew Allegiant Air from Stockton to Las Vegas for an event. About two weeks before my trip, I visited SCK and purchased my tickets from the counter. At the time, I also chose my seat. The isle seat in an exit row. NARRATIVE: Heading to Vegas to attend the 2025 Big Smoke cigar event, I didn't want to drive so, I decided to book a flight out of Stocktons airport on Allegiant Air. On the date of my flight, I arrive about two hours early and as luck would have it, my flight was already delayed over an hour. Even though I had already purchased my round trip tickets and seats in advance, I checked in with their agents at the counter and presented my military ID because, hidden in the fine print of their perks, military, including reserves and veterans, Allegiant offers two free checked bags, priority boarding and two carry on items at no cost. When the plane finally arrived, the boarding process was smooth and effortless. The flight to Vegas was took a little over an hour and it was uneventful. No complementary drinks or snack offered but they do offer those service at a cost. **credit cards only. No cash.** My return flight that Sunday was delayed also but not just an hour. It was delayed over three hours. SCENE: Allegiant Air operates out of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport on most days with flight to either Vegas or Arizona. The TSA process at SCK is quick and easy, especially if you have TSA Pre or Global Entry. RECOMMENDATION(S): I'd fly Allegiant Air again but, I'd give myself extra hours for their known delays. read more

Set proper expectations and I think you can have a good experience with Allegiant. This airline is a no-frills airline, but you get what you pay for. Going into this flight, I had my expectations set very low and ended up feeling like it was an okay experience. The one blemish was that as soon as I walked into the Stockton Airport, I was greeted with a text message saying my flight was delayed 90 minutes. To most, this would be an infuriating experience and honestly I felt the same. The one advantage I had was that I live literally 10 minutes away so I went back home to be comfortable. I checked in my bag, which was very smooth, and the app worked great for bringing up my boarding pass. Once my bag was checked in, I enjoyed the comfort of my home until it got closer to the new takeoff time. TSA screening was a breeze and boarding went easy as well. Our flight ended up getting moved up 30 minutes, so overall it was about a 60-minute delay. The flight itself was just like any others, just no free snacks or drinks which I already knew so it wasn't a huge shock to me. 56 minutes later, I was in Las Vegas. Absolutely avoid this airline! Customer service is horrible, the staff was rude and not helpful. Airlines refused to rebook the ticket when the connection was missed due to airplane mechanical problems beyond my control. They insisted I purchase another ticket which would have cost me upwards of $600 one way. They left me stranded in Nashville and I had to take a bus 4 hours to Knoxville. I would usually give them 4 or 5 stars. However, my last trip I flew from Vegas to Stockton, a one hour trip, and was charged $45 for a checked bag. Upon arriving to Stockton, I found they never loaded my bag, so my belongings remained in Vegas. Although they did contact me to send me my belongings, after receiving them I found my perfume bottle was broken and empty, which cost me $50 to replace. And the whole time at Stockton airport, there was no one to talk to us ( there were at least 10 people missing luggage). It was extremely disappointing after all my successful trips. We actually went to the ticket counter at the Stockton, CA airport to purchase a ticket and ask some other basic questions. After waiting until a specific time to buy tickets which happened to be 4:40, the ticketing agents were late coming back to the counter at this point a line had gathered and the two ticket agents were clearly not wanting to be there. Our turn came up to by tickets to a new route which was Denver clearly offered online and the agent told us that was not a route and her coworker chimed in and said it was a new routing. We then gave our dates for travel which was July and she proceeded to tell us that they couldn't sell us the ticket because it was more than 3 months and both agents were pretty locked in with their answer delivered with an huge attitude. We let her know that the routing is available online, and it did not make sense why forgo a sale? It was being inconvenienced and knew something was off, I did my own research and emailed customer service and also went to the online chat feature. BOTH sources said that tickets for the route that we wanted we able to be sold! The chat agent told us that she would forward this to a corrections department?! The chat agent also gave me a direct phone number 702-637-7038 and no one ever picks up. 3 Calls in and wait times were going on 40 mins? After seeing all the one star comments in the reviews you literally are taking your chances. *Lastly, while we were in line a regular who flys told us to never book the night flights because there is always a problem or cancellation. I must say prior to me flying on his airline I did some research on yelp of course and was very hesitant after I had already purchased my ticket about flying on this airline due to all the negative reviews. My experience was actually positive. Yes I'm paying for convenience with using this airline because of its location in Stockton. I did not want to have to drive to the bay area or to Sacramento to fly on my usual Southwest so I opted to use this route because it's closer to my house. I would say when you're booking on this airline tickets do seem cheap but you end up paying for your seats, bags, carry-on, etc We arrived to the very small airport pulled up curbside unloaded our bags and walked right in. There was a line to be expected but I did opt to pay the difference to have priority so that I could stand in the priority line which is much shorter and goes by quickly. I noticed while waiting in line there was an issue with a passenger who was trying to Pay to have a bag checked. It took them at least 30 minutes and I'm not sure if they totally solve his problem so my advice is if you're checking a bag please buy everything ahead of time do not wait until you get to the counter as you might run into problems. Also the baggage wait for your checked bag is only 40 pounds I was expecting 50 and had to take items out at the counter which was OK because I had a carry-on bag as well. Once we check our bags we had to walk them so I left I actually dropped him off which was about 50steps. Then we had to make our way through TSA which again the line was very short even though I do have TSA pre-check so I was faster for me but even if you don't have at the airport so small you don't really need it. Then just like that we were at our gate. About five minutes later they had a start boarding in group orders and we sat on the plane took off and we're on our way. I certainly love flying Allegiant Airlines from Stockton Metropolitan Airport. I transit between Las Vegas and the Bay Area often and this airline is very convenient and excellent in flight! Allegiant Airlines is the major airline serving Stockton Metropolitan Airport besides United Airlines which recently began launching flights out of SCK. The airline offers daily flights everyday with services to even Phoenix and San Diego weekly. Allegiant uses Two types of airbus aircraft, the A319 and A320. I kinda miss the DC-10's that the airline flew with in its main flee. Such nostalgic.. Overall I love how friendly this airline is towards senior citizens and military personnel. I can count on this airline for good deals and respect towards passengers. A cool tip I recently discovered is that the airline sells airfare tickets at a lower cost than on the website. I was going to roll my Whip Black Beauty to Las Vegas like I usually do every year. Then one of my coworkers told me about Allegiant air and their low prices . When I looked at their Website I was surprised to see how low the Roundtrip price was to Vegas $250 with all the Fees and Surcharges. A lot Cheaper than Driving LOL . So I booked a Round Trip Flight. The Las Vegas flight leaves out of the Stockton Airport. A matter of fact Allegiant is the Only Airline flying out of the Stockton Airport. The Stockton Airport is a nice Facility . It even has a Subway Sammich Stand. I had booked the first Vegas flight of the day. Unfortunately the Flight was delayed by 90 Minutes. When the Flight did arrive it was a fast Turn around. Allegiant uses an MD -80 Aircraft on their Vegas route . The MD -80 is similar to a 727 . They both have a rear retractable Stairwell. The MD-80 is a fairly comfortable Plane to fly in. I was lucky on my Flight to Vegas the Flight Attendants were quite Attractive and Nice. The Only bad thing about Allegiant is that any Beverage or Snack on the flight you have to purchase . No Freebies. Pro Tip - Buy Your Beverage At The Vending Machine in The Gate Area A Lot Cheaper Than The Plane. And Bring your own Snacks. My Flight to Stockton was the First Flight out of Vegas was on time . The Flight Attendants on this Flight were Attractive also . But a Few had very Bad Attitudes and were Rude to a few of the Passengers . Plus the Landing back in Stockton was really Rough almost Whiplash Rough. First time flyer with Allegiant Airlines. I was looking for a good deal to fly back to my hometown Las Vegas when I discovered Allegiant services Stockton Metropolitan Airport. I usually fly out of San Francisco or Sacramento with Frontier or United. I was glad I was able to try Allegiant. The service was great and the staff was wonderful! I'm definitely adding Allegiant to my list of airlines I choose to fly with. I recently learned Allegiant is HQ in hometown Summerlin, Las Vegas as well! Gotta support our Vegas companies! You guys, Flying with Allegiant isn't THAT bad . With ticket prices being as low as they are, Can you really be picky and have high expectations? You simply get what you pay for here and that shouldn't surprise you. A fellow Stockton native once said: " Im not surprised mfers." You should take his word and not be surprised too. This is the only airline that flys out of Stockton Airport. What you see is what you get. And what exactly do you get, you might ask? An airport located away from Stockton crime, traffic, and chaos. So take it from another Stockton native when he said " Don't be scared homie!" When boarding, you will notice that you'll be walking outside like the star that you are except its not to your private jet. Once you realize you're not the star that you once thought you were and a private jet isn't waiting for you outside, you'll probably be sad. You will then have to put your luggage away and take your seat. When taking your seat, you'll probably want to look at the brochures in front of you. You'll skim through them for about 5 minutes and then realize another sad thing. WHAT! No complimentary snacks or drinks? $5 for a sandwich thats not even a foot long? You probably were already over the sadness from realizing that you're not a star with a private jet but your sadness soon comes back when you've realized that you get no complimentary snack or drink. Thats ok though, by the time all this has happened, you'll realize that you're almost to your destination. That was quick! And this is why im giving Allegiant 3 stars. It serves its purpose and gets me to my destination when I need them to. I've never had any problems here and will definitely continue to fly with them. read more

If I can give a zero star I would. I took a flight out which was no problem and on time. Plane was dirty, actual trash on the seat, however budget airline so not the end of the world. Flight back was cancelled at check in and the agent said sorry next flight is Wednesday, this was Sunday morning 4 something am, and we would get a refund and $150.00 voucher. I called the Airline three days later to get an update on refund and voucher. When I called in they said because it was due to weather there is nothing they can do except issue a refund. The agent said it was due to staffing!! I had to scramble to find a flight back home and arrange a ride back home. After 9 hours I got back home after booking the only flight available that day! I would not recommend this airline and there is no "value" if you can't even get home. The customer service via the phone do not care! It's worth it to fly out of Sacramento. I never had a flight canceled and more reputable options and price points are not that different. One last thing, when the flight cancelled, I could not get a live chat agent, an email response and the line was too busy to answer that day. Avoid this airline if you can. I will be telling everyone I know about this experience and give them the same warning. Very disappointed with this airline. So flying Allegiant to Vegas. I know, big mistake. I fly all over with my dog. She is a Registered Service Dog, NOT EMOTIONAL SUPPORT. Actual service dog. Gate agent says she can't board. I need a dog carrier and pay extra $100. Their own website says service dogs no problem and no extra charge. Agent doesn't care. I call allegiant (not easy finding a number). I recount story to phone agent. My brief hold lasted 22 minutes. She says she talked to gate agent who refused boarding and the bitch totally lies and says I said my dog was a pet!!! Are you crazy!!! I told the gate agent at least 30 times she's a service dog, I presented her documents which legally isn't required but I did it anyway. Gate agent ent flat out lies to phone agent. Why I'm the hell would I say my dog is a pet!!! Phone agent apologizes all over the place BUT I STILL MUST PAY THE EXTRA $100 PET FEE AND BUY A CARRIER!!! How cool is that? I'm originally from the bay area so its cool to see Allegiant Airlines operating in cities like Stockton, Oakland, and even Monterey. I primarily fly via the Stockton route to Las Vegas as I have family in Sacramento. I love the classic feeling you get when you first arrive at Stockton Metropolitan Airport. I feel like i'm in a 1950s movie or something. Check in is two hours before flight. Allegiant Airlines is a budget carrier so I recommend you look on their website for baggage fee's, seating options and even food. The team that is based in Stockton are terrific! I love how they're friendly and pro-military! Boarding is very cool as you are able to get a glimpse on what aircraft you'll be flying. Allegiant operates mostly second hand aircraft like the Airbus A319 to the Airbus A320. I miss the days when Allegiant had the MD-80's and Boeing 757. Allegiant airlines operate daily flights from Stockton to Las Vegas. Definitely an alternative if you want to beat the bay area's heavy and busy traffic. Horrible customer service, rude people. They have cheap flights but get you on carry-on. Don't take any luggage larger than 9x14x16 or the airport charges $50 each way. They only allow 1 personal item should be very small. If you takke a carry-on that's not within the limits pay online, it's $20, airport charge$50 each way. Add that to your ticket price and you'll see it would have been better flying SW. Needless to say, I'll never use Allegiant again, I won't use them to go to Raider games at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. Many of the reviews have been so similar to my experience that I'm beginning to believe allegiant air does this on purpose... I had a flight scheduled for 6:40 out of Stockton to Vegas and, just like others have said, it has been delayed first for 90 minutes and now until after 11pm. This is not where I want to be spending my Saturday night. I'm just waiting for them to tell us the flight isn't taking off tonight at all... Just like the told the people in the other reviews. How could this happen to so many people? There's no way this is just a coincidence, there's no way the same flight to Vegas breaks down every week or multiple times a week. The airport is clean and nice and small though. I guess that's a plus. So I can't blame the airport I don't think, just the airline. UPDATE: the flight WAS cancelled, like clockwork! Should have followed the yelp reviews. I yelled at the people who gave me a $100 voucher, a hotel voucher, and rescheduled my flight for the next day and I asked why this happens SO OFTEN and they basically admitted that this happens every week on the last flight of the day. Soooo whatever you do... DON'T BOOK THE 6:50 FLIGHT TO VEGAS DURING THE SUMMER! They said it always overheats. I asked how this flight hasn't been taken off of the schedule and they couldn't give an explanation. They dragged this on for hours, telling us there would be a replacement plane there soon but there was no plane coming. We initially booked a flight to Vegas from Stockton in July 2012 but had to cancel our flight because we could not make the trip to a death in the family. We re-booked our trip in February 2013 and managed to get Priority Boarding to and from Vegas. I had heard a lot of good and bad things about Allegiant Air including the prices. My gf traveled from Stockton to Irvine frequently to visit her bf and I also heard that they flew to Hawaii as well. I was interested to see how many experience with Allegiant would be like. I noticed immediately via their loudspeaker that they warned the customers that no open alcohol beverages were allowed on the plane. Not sure if this was catered to us because we were heading to Las Vegas or if this was standard practice, it just seemed a little ghetto! As we boarded and got through the ticket agent we went up to the airplane. The stewardess are usually in the front greeting the customers so I really pay attention to this. I am really big on first impression. I was standing behind a tall man and could hear the stewardess greet him and welcome him aboard. He continued to board the plane and walk to his seat. The stewardess, her name was Crystal and she was a bit pudgy with blond hair looked at me, then looked at my watch and my ring...and my purse and rolled her eyes. Really?! Do you not think that I will see and notice that. She did not even bother greeting me or welcoming me. I knew instantaneously that I did not like her or what she represented of the company. The experience on the flight was fine, a bit bumpy and I would recommend bringing your own food because you will likely pay a lot for snacks (small Pringles for $3 or Gardettos for $4). Fees! All the fees end up almost costing the same thing as a regular flight on another airline. I've heard you should go to the ticket stand and purchase your ticket in person to avoid several fees though. There's also fees for using your credit card vs. your atm, to pick your seat (assigned seats otherwise), for carry-ons, beverages, etc. The airline provides cheap flights to Las Vegas and apparently to Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona as well as seasonal service to Honolulu, Hawaii. While we boarded early/on time, it took a while for the plane to depart the runway. It was stuffy inside, because they didn't turn the air on until the plane started moving.This was my second time flying Alligiant. After the first time, I told myself never again. I lied. I fly this airline often because it's extremely convenient for those of us living in Stockton and flying to Las Vegas. Even when our flight is delayed, the pilot tries to make up time lost any way he can. The problem is the flight staff don't seem to care to assist passengers while boarding. I don't check my bag but I pay for my carryon and book a seat in the front. Even after my comment about the lack of space being ignored by the flight attendants, I walked down the aisle looking for space while looking back to them as they looked the other way. Once I found room I was too short to reach and I had to bother another passenger for help. While flying back I found one of the same flight attendants and a new gentleman and they did the same thing. I was skeptical to fly with Allegiant Airlines but the prices were cheaper to go to Las Vegas than other airlines. The cheaper airfare had a cost to it. They charge for check in and carry on bags. What they did slow was a personal bag such as a purse or a small backpack. Allegiant allows you to choose your seat when you book your flight. I paid a little extra to be seated near the emergency exit for extra leg room. The service on the flight was average and you can purchase drinks or snacks during the flight. Overall, this was a decent flight to Las Vegas. I would normally fly with Southwest Airlines but I would definitely use Allegiant Airlines if the price was a lot cheaper. Know what you are getting yourself into before you book a flight on Allegiant. Its super cheap, but its cheap for a reason. They charge you for everything. Keep that trade off in mind! If you are good at packing light and don't mind the extra drive out to the stockton airport, book a flight. Really, the destinations are so limited and relatively close by. You don't need to pack a lot. Make packing a game and try to get as much in as you can using as little space as possible. Also, make sure you eat and have something to drink before you get on, because nothing is free on allegiant. I made reservations to fly into Vegas w/ my family for vacation in May, today I get a text msg saying my flight has been canceled & when I go online to change the dates it says I can not re-schedule my flight & I have 72hours to contact Allegiant.... Overall experience okay if you fly without any any ANY luggage. Only your self and a purse or bag pack that you can put under your seat. "I said under your seat". They charge you (20$, online(each way))(triple the price at the counter(each way)) over the bin in the airplane. It was my fault for not reading the fine print, but I assume it was such a great deal, I didn't bother reading. Stockton-las Vegas round trip 220$ for 2 people. I was that sucker checking early and than reading it to realize that I had to do add on my over bin for 2 luggage to Vegas and 2 luggage on the return after tax I spent. This is not even worth including you have to buy your seats and ranges from 1$-25$ where you want to sit. As you can imagine it's adding on. Overall I spent 500!..... I should just went with my first option southwest airline. I had checked and it was 350$, I decline it due to that it was 100$ more and at the end I paid way more for allegiantair for the cheap price. Southwest at least have free cancelation and free over bin luggage. READ THE FINE print. 1star for the price. Overall flew was fine 4star. This only great price if you have nothing but your self. You won't be paying any luggage or anything. read more

If I was rating the flight out, I would give them 4.5-5 stars. Easy parking at the Stockton airport and only $10 a day. The food at the restaurant was pretty good and the service was great. Check-in was a breeze. It's such a small airport, you really won't find much in the way of lines... with one exception. When anything goes wrong. Our flight back was a mess. They overbooked by 17 seats. Seventeen. It took over an hour for them to beg people to give up their seats and they had to keep upping the incentive. It took so long that my friend and I went to the bar to get another drink. When we finally began to board, we were told by the guy taking our tickets that we had to leave our drinks behind. I have never had that be the case, considering we bought our drinks inside the airport after the security line. So, we had to slam them. If I'm paying $16 for a glass of wine, you had better believe I'm drinking it. The insult to injury is that our friends directly behind us were allowed to bring their drinks on board. I wasn't sure what to think when the flight attended took the gas mask and dumped it on the floor for the safety demonstration. When we finally landed almost an hour and a half late, we taxied almost to the gate and then sat at a dead stop. After about 20 minutes of just sitting there, the pilot came over the loud speaker and mumbled something about a 5 minute delay. That's no big deal right? 5 minutes. That 5 minutes turned into a half hour and when the passengers started to get vocal and restless, the pilot finally came over the loud speaker and said we would be moving soon and to please give the crew a break because they "have had a day." Well yes, when the airline overbooks a flight by 17, I would say so. I'm sure you have plenty of "days." After over an hour of sitting on the tarmac at a dead standstill, we finally moved. I kid you not, we moved about 15 feet and they brought out stairs. Before we actually got off, they brought security onto the plane. We were supposed to arrive in Stockton at 8:30. We didn't get leave the airport until almost midnight, due to all of the unnecessary delays. Oh and they charged us $36 per checked bag reserved at the time of booking. It will cost you more if you wait and try to do it at the airport. They charge for a carry on too, and they charge for all snacks, and water. I'm surprised they gave my friend a cup of ice for free. read more
