Minestrone Soup and Garlic Knots Minestrone Soup Garlic Knots

Above and beyond my expectations! I don't know where to begin. Not feeling well today and too tired to drive so I ordered my lunch from DoorDash. I was craving Italian and came across, Allegro's Pizza. So glad i ordered from here! I ordered Italian Sub on artisan bread) and Minestrone Soup. The soup came with fresh baked Garlic Knot's. The Minestrone, bread on my sandwich and Garlic Knot's were delivered piping hot like it came right out of the oven. Say's a lot about the way Allegro's packs their food to go. The soup is filled with fresh vegetables (cabbage, celery, tomatoes, carrots & potato) and hit the spot. If you are ever in the Thousand Oaks area and craving an Italian meal on the go, I highly recommend Allegro's Pizza. Allegro Pizza is my new Italian meal on the go place! Prices are reasonable for what you get and well worth it.

I called in an order at 5pm on a Sat and my takeout was ready in 20 minutes. I spied some great lunch specials walking in, will be back to try that. There were 5 employees behind the counter working, looks like they have their service figured out, which is very important as no one wants to waste their weekend time waiting for an unreasonably long time for food to arrive. Kids loved the pizza and garlic knots. I liked the meatballs with marinara sauce eaten with the garlic knots. The 2 meatballs were large, it's probably enough as a meal.

We ordered delivery via grubhub on a Thursday evening and we're not disappointed! The Caesar salad was fresh and crispy, and nicely presented. The pizza had generous toppings and a really good crust (not too thick, but not thin crust either). Garlic knots (?) got delivered as well, I guess maybe they came with the salad? Either way, delicious! We will order from here again.

Pizza was on my mind! (Review coming soon!)

Give me P. P! Give me an I. I!! Give me 2 Z's. ZZ!!! Give me an A. A!!!! What does that spell?? PIZZA!!!!! If you don't get as excited for pizza like I just did, you may or may not be a foodie. ---------------------------------------------------- Do you ever have those nights where you say, "I'm tired. I just don't feel like cooking, But, I still need to eat dinner."' Well let's review the obvious choices... Option A) Go to your freezer and stare at that frozen chicken breast that's been in the freezer for who knows how long and hope it magically defrosts and cooks itself. Option B) Make yourself a sad PB&J using the last two pieces of bread. Option C) Get PIZZZZZA!!!!!!!!! I know, I know. Only crazy people go with option A, and Option B is for those that refuse to throw on some pants and drive to their local pizza joint. Well I'm not crazy & I love my jeans so I went with Option C. ---------------------------------------------------- Last night we opted for pizza, but decided to give Allegro pizza a shot. We heard good things on the NextDoor app and wanted to give this local, mom & pop pizza shop our business. Using my handy Yelp app, I perused the menu and made my final decision on what to order. We went with a large pepperoni & pineapple pizza and their large Caesar salad which comes with 7 garlic knots. I called in our order and was given a 25 minute pick up time. Upon pick up, our order was ready as promised and the gentleman who checked me out was nice. The pizza itself was yummy, I even had leftovers for work today. Besides pizza and salads, Allegro's offers authentic Italian Pastas, popular Italian dishes and custom submarine sandwiches. So the next time I'm feeling like a little Red, White & Green cuisine Allegro's will be hearing from me. =)

The menu has some interesting options, the food came out quickly, and the service was very good. Quick take: Get the Chilean Sea Bass special if it is available, the homemade pastas, and the Prosciutto Rucola e Grana Pizza. Skip the meatballs. Know that nearly all the pasta is made in-house, while the spaghetti and penne are imported from Italy (if I'm remembering correctly) The Chilean Sea Bass special was the standout and absolutely worth ordering when offered. Since specials change, I would ask about it before getting too attached, but this would be my first choice. Everyone I was with agreed it was standout and wished they ordered it. The pastas are another strength. I do not like cream, and the server told me they could remove those ingredients, which gave me considerably more flexibility with the menu. It is also worth knowing that the spaghetti and penne are the one exception to the house-made pasta because they are shipped in from Italy. The cocktails were creative and interesting, although almost too sweet for me. Service was friendly and efficient. The only real drawback is that the dining room feels cramped, so this is not the place to go if you need a lot of personal space. Overall, Nonna delivers interesting Italian food, excellent homemade pasta and good service.

We were initially seated outside next to a family with two young kids who were pretty loud. Totally understandable (we have kids too), but we were hoping for a more relaxed, cozy night. Our waitress was great from the start. After ordering the fritto misto calamari (which was good), we asked if we could move inside since it was pretty hot out. I do wish we had been seated inside from the beginning, especially for a birthday dinner. Once inside, the experience completely changed for the better, much more intimate and exactly what we were looking for. We also got a red wine from the Pursued by Bear line (don't remember the exact one, but it had a bold bear on the label) -- smooth, full-bodied, and went really well with the pasta. I got the cacio e pepe and my wife ordered the strozzapreti. Hers was definitely the standout -- the pasta was soft and the red sauce had a lot more flavor than I expected, especially since I don't usually go for red sauce. My cacio e pepe was still good, just a bit simpler. For dessert, we had the vanilla panna cotta and Nonna's cake -- both solid and a nice way to end the night. Overall, a really good experience. The service and indoor ambiance definitely made the night.

Unfortunately, the experience left us extremely disappointed. The biggest issue was the unprofessional service and attitude of our waiter, Emmanuel. First, the wrong dish was brought to our table. We actually suspected that something was wrong, so we specifically asked Emmanuel if this was the exact dish we had ordered. He confidently said yes. However, when we received the bill, we noticed that the dish listed had a completely different name and was clearly not what we had ordered. What was especially disappointing that when we pointed out the mistake, the waiter barely reacted and did not seem concerned about the error. On top of that, a 20% tip was automatically added to our bill, which we paid. Other service issues also occurred. Our child was served a completely different dish than what she ordered. We also had to wait an unusually long time for one of our drinks, and it was only brought after we reminded the waiter about it couple of times. For a restaurant of this level and price range, we expected much better service, attention to detail, and management oversight. We were fully prepared to pay for a good experience, the price itself was not the issue. The problem was that we paid for what we ordered but did not actually receive it, and when we brought the mistake to the waiter's attention, it was handled as if it were not important. We left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed, and, honestly, somewhat misled. This is a one-star review, and I strongly believe the management needs to pay much closer attention to the quality of service, staff training, and overall supervision of the restaurant. !!!!! So overall, we completely do not recommend this restaurant!!!!!!!

Great hospitality and high quality ingredients!…read more We tried Marcello for the first time last weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our experience but we felt there were some areas for improvement. Located in a strip mall on Hillcrest Drive, this restaurant is highly accessible and parking is ample on the front. Our host told us that this restaurant is nicely situated to view the fireworks on July 4th, which we planned to come back for the second time. The menu is simple and standard. We ordered the fried calamari as appetizer, and a shrimp pasta and meat pasta for entrees. The pasta was soft and tasted homemade, but the seasoning felt a little light. The calamari was flavorful but felt generic. Another aspect that also stood out is the lack of music or lighting to set the ambiance. While I liked the table setting, the ambiance felt a bit stark. With so many Italian restaurants in our neighborhood, I feel there needs to be some tweaking in the menu offerings, service, and ambiance for it to stand out. With the high prices and good quality ingredients, the restaurant has the potential to become top tier with some tweaking. Our meal came to about $100, which was reasonable for the quality and service. We will be on 7/4 to try other menu items.

We ordered the braised lamb tagliatelle, cozy salad, and the branzino. All were absolutely fantastic. The noodles were tender and the sauce was incredible. Rich but not overpowering and the portions were ample! The cozy salad was a great appetizer for us and I would recommend about 100x of the beets and oranges on that, because they were so delicious. But I'm sure others would enjoy that they took a supporting and not main role. Alberto knocked it out of the park. As a lifelong guitarist myself and an avid fan of Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel, and 90s throwbacks, he alternated tastefully between fun covers and other more romantic or classical pieces. His articulation was impeccable and as I took a bite of the tagliatelle I told my wife "I think I might actually cry right now". It was an absolute delight to the senses! The food was prepared expeditiously, and while it seemed that guests were welcome to linger and hang, or even have a longer evening, we were in and out in under an hour! I couldn't believe the time flew by. Just terrific all around and we are so excited to come back to try the new menu--the staff told us it rotates every 6 months.

My co worker and fellow paisan was so right and why the hell did I wait years to try this place. We were seated at a 2 top set up very elegantly and our server David was quick to greet us and fill us in on the nightly specials and his favorite dishes. We started with a Aperol Spritz and a Lemoncello Spritz (by the way Rustico makes the Lemoncello in house). Great start to cleanse our palate, complimenting the bruschetta and I have to say I haven't had anything better than their bruschetta short of our trips to Italy. I went with several nightly specials such as the grilled octopus and calamari salad, very tasty and incredibly prepared. Followed by the Almond crusted Sole, my wife enjoyed the house made tortellini in a light cream and pancetta sauce. David our server was very attentive not only to just our table but the nearby tables as well, friendly smiling and so helpful, an important quality in a server rarely found these days. Our entrees were incredibly delicious and portions were good size, the decor and ambiance very familiar and reminded me of some of the ristorante's we dined at in Italy.
