Alliance installed a garage door opener for me recently and did a superb job. I was going out of town and asked if they could come the same day I called. He accommodated my request and answered all my questions about openers on the phone. He saved me some money by telling me which "bells and whistles" I really didn't need on an opener. He came with his technician (Enrique) in about 4 hours. Enrique was an extremely hard worker and very courteous and respectful. He and Chris both were a pleasure to do business with and I highly recommend his company, and particularly this technician. I will call them again when I need garage door repairs or replacement. Cesar came out to to troubleshoot our door issue. The upper strut had crack and needed to be replaced. The company could have been more on top of communication for the scheduling and arrival but once there Cesar was very helpful and good and breaking down what the issue was and what else needed to be done to resolve it. I dropped my kid off at school this morning and in my own little world pulled in the garage and hit the garage button, in my car, while still pulling in...who does that!?!? I messed up my garage door and it came off the hinge!!! Great communication, very affordable price, easy & quick to get someone out (with no initial fee!), but most of all honesty. Alright, so I was in tight situation garage door spring in a seven old house broke out of the blue. It really sucked too, then I upgraded my home security system on top of it with all awesome tech gadgets. My realtor recommended me to contact Chris. Over the phone Chris was awesome to talk to and work with. He gave me a reasonable estimated price and unfortunately my setup for my garage wasn't the norm. But he did work with me and explained to me the springs he was replacing would last up to 25 years. I received a year warranty for parts and labor from his company. Chris was inspirational and helpful from the start until he arrived to my house and finished the job. Needless to say he is indeed a people person and man he likes to talk with you. Can you believe that? His service was prompt with no nonsense. Very straight forward guy in my opinion. I am considering switching out my 3rd bay garage door spring in the future. I see a big difference between the spring he installed and the ones that came with my home. The main door doesn't look like it's struggles to open with the garage door opener. I noticed my garage door not closing smoothly and I could see it was bowing inward while closing and starting to bend the door. I had used Chris @ alliance overhead door several years ago to install a new spring so I texted him to take a look at the door. He responded promptly and committed to coming in the afternoon and texting when he was 30 minutes away. He was on time and gave me a very reasonable price for repair (replacing the door would cost over $1600). He installed a strut and reinforced the joint that was the problem in under 45 minutes! The spring on our garage door broke last night. I put out a request on Yelp for help. While I received a few responses very promptly, Alliance was the only one that gave me an instant quote/flat price without even coming out. And, he said he could be out the next morning to fix it! The other companies all said that they could schedule an appointment and then give me a quote. Chris' communication was excellent. He messaged me that he would be here at 10:05 a.m. Then, when he was delayed, he apologized and said it would be 10:30 a.m., which is when he made it. I truly value good communication. Chris was very friendly and efficient. He fixed only what needed to be fixed, for the exact amount he quoted me without seeing the project first...no hidden fees or add-ons after he got here. He informed me about the condition of my unit (which is 16 years old) and gave me an array of options for when it comes time to replace it, but in no way tried to sell me something I didn't need. When the time comes, I will definitely be calling Chris to install a new unit. read more

Some two years ago they replaced a garage door spring. I only now noticed that the tension was way lower than it should be, and asked them to have a look at it. Chris (the owner?) said he'd have a look, but then didn't come, asked for the information again, and didn't come, ... for 2 months. Until I got tired and called someone else. The others (who didn't have anything to do with the what happened here) came free of charge to have a look, tell me what's going on, and give me an estimate, within a day. Not even this he'd do. I removed some of my opinions that Chris objected to. Not sure why he has such a problem with them. To illustrate, here are the facts: - About 2 years ago, one of Chris's employees exchanged the spring. - About 2 months ago I detected that the door was unbalanced; at about 3 feet height, it would slam to the ground when let go. - About 2 months ago I contacted Chris about this. I even provided a video of the unbalanced door to him. - He said he'd have a look, but not right now. I should give him some time. - Since then, I have contacted him several times, essentially with the same result. - Last week I finally contacted another service provider. They came over within a day, without charging, for a free analysis and estimate. - They confirmed that the door was severely unbalanced. I paid them to fix this as much as possible. - After I published this review, Chris contacted me and wanted to come over today and check it out. - Chris did not contact me during the 2 months I was waiting for him to check out the problem. But it took less than a day after I posted a one-star review on Yelp that he contacted me and even wanted to come out and check it out on the same day -- after he left me hanging for 2 months. And here are my opinions, separate from the facts: - 2 months was more than enough time I gave Chris to have a look and let me know what he thinks about the problem. - After I called and paid someone else to fix the problem, I'm not interested in spending anymore time with Chris on this. I don't see the benefit for me. - I think that it is often when something goes wrong like this were you can distinguish the ones that are really good from the ones that do a good job but then let you hang when things go wrong. I definitely felt left hanging when not even 2 months were enough for Chris to have a look. Chris privately accused me of slander because of previously stated opinions that I since removed to keep the peace. He's right that these are not facts -- they are my opinions. They correctly express how I feel about this situation. However, stating a negative opinion is not slander -- slander requires making a public factual statement that is wrong. read more

The cable came off our garage door. We found another Yelp business, but after having them out twice to fix the same problem, we decided to move on. We called this morning and were able to get Chris out by noon. He contacted us promptly to let us know an hour out that he was on his way. He adhered to all the CDC COVID precautions which our family really appreciates. Chris sought to limit contact by wearing a mask, gloves and going through our other garage door to get to the broken one instead of walking through our house. When he was done he put the receipt in a place where I could get it and he could still be 6-ft away. One of the things I most appreciate is that he gave me some context as to what the issue was. I want to know what's going on and I appreciate Chris not assuming I didn't want to know. I feel informed. I recommend Chris and Alliance Overhead Door. I was set to give this business a 1-star rating because Chris scheduled to come by on a certain day and then never showed or notified us why he ghosted. But I gave him some grace. These are pandemic times and we all have pandemic brain. I contacted him again to see if we just fell through the cracks -- after all, the rest of the reviews here are so positive -- and he came out to our house to fix our garage door the same day. It was a simpler fix than expected (we thought we might have to replace the entire door) and he even suggested we change out our springs because they were too strong for the weight of the door we had, causing a safety issue. The spring broke on our garage door and I kept forgetting to call about it until late in the day. I finally remembered at 4 PM. Very friendly guys. Enjoyed talking with both. However after fixing my door, it stopped closing a few days later. Finally, my wife called them for a follow up fix or consultation. Dude came by and fixed the door in seconds by adjusting the sensor. He charged us an additional $97.50 for his two seconds of "work". Something that was their fault anyway and should have been covered under their first bill. Watch your wallet. read more
