I was in need of an urgent repair for my damaged garage door on a Saturday afternoon. I sent out for responses and quotes via yelp's quote gathering service. Chris with Alliance Overhead Doors was one of the 1st providers to respond. I wanted someone to come out to review the damage & provide me an estimate & ideally make the repairs as soon as possible without my needed to take time off from work. I didn't want to have to pay a service fee just to get an estimate & find out it too expensive of a repair. Chris gave me an estimate using the pictures I uploaded to yelp which was more than reasonable given the damage. He was able to come to assess the repairs needed the same day within the window of time I had available. He also kept me informed of his ETA as he was coming from a prior job. As I suspected, the damage was going to cost more than his original estimate. TBH I was concerned that the damage was beyond repair and I would need to plan to replace an entire 1 to 2 rows of panels across the entire garage door. He gave me a revised estimate for the potential repair he was going to try. It was again was very reasonable. I was amazed by his creative problem solving ability in the repairs he made. It is obvious he has significant amount of knowledge & experience with garage doors. He was able to repair my garage door and prolong the life of it. Overall I was very pleased with the availability at short notice, responsiveness, communication, skill of repair, and value for the work performed. I can not recommend Chris and Alliance Overheard Door enough!! I was convinced I was going to need a whole new garage door after accidentally damaging it trying to reconnect it to the garage door opener. I called chris at 8:30. 3 hours later my door was fixed. Chris is a nice guy who knows garage doors. He replaced 2 tension springs. He was in and out in an hour. Would have been faster but he's personable and easy to talk too. If you are in NW Austin give him a call. I am a DIYer. But I called Chris for this. The main reason was because tension spring are hard to find - ie lowes and Home Depot don't carry them. I really didn't want to wait a week for them to come in. Ok. The tension spring broke on our double garage door this morning. Chris arrived the same day at about 4PM and had the spring replaced before 5PM. Chris is very personable and friendly. Since the Coronavirus is ramping up in Leander & Cedar Park, he wore a face mask for the protection of both of us. He worked quickly and effectively and also fit in some interesting conversation. I needed maintenance done on our garage door and had to wait over a week for an appointment with a door company - not Alliance. Before that happened, one of the springs snapped and made the door unusable. Of course, it was after 6pm so i couldn't reach a live person. I checked out Yelp, sent in a request to repair/replace and attached pictures of the problem to Alliance Overhead Door through the Yelp site, Chris replies and says, oh yeah, that's definitely repairable. So I give them call and we set up an appointment. Chris shows up and says I can do this and that for this price, and I says let's go for it. Less than 30 minutes later Chris says it's all good, check it out. He told me the weak points of the garage and that he made quick modifications to make it last longer, and I'm just standing aside happy because I don't have spend a lot of money replacing the thing. If you need garage repair work in the greater Austin area, these are your guys. We had a torsion spring break, making it difficult to open our oversized and heavy garage door. Chris was very quick to come back with a competitive quote. Winston came out the same day (a Saturday) and made a temporary repair to get the door operational while he acquired the oversized springs for our heavy door.
