I would normally just not return to the business but I felt this was necessary. I called in advanced to check if they had my oil filter they said yes, they had 5 of the premium oil filter. I came into the store within 10 mins and the person I spoke with said they only had the regular kind. I asked them for 3, so I would have extra for the future. The person returned and rang me up. I headed straight to get my oil changed. As I was waiting my car for the oil change, I realized he had only given me 2 filters and charged me for 3. Also the staff at the Oil Changers said Allied sold me the wrong part. Allied sold me a paper filter and my car needed the Mopar metal one. The guys at Lube boys called around and couldn't find anyone that carries my filter. The $15 spent at Allied isn't worth the time to go back and return the incorrect products. This whole thing was a waste of my time and for Lube Boys who were so kind and patient. read more

I am now retired and no longer do enough business to maintain an active account at Allied Auto. However, they remain my go-to source of automotive parts because of their inventory, quality of parts and knowledgeable staff. As good as they typically are, I was especially impressed with Jose on my most recent visit. He was extremely pro-active and exhibited excellent customer skills. I am helping restore an antique farm tractor for LEAF here in Fremont and Jose took the exceptional amount of time required to help me locate the parts and materials needed for this endeavor without the typical make and model information. We had to compare a variety of different parts to find the ones that would be best suited for this project. Ok went there for a belt and some coolant bought it, big guy doesnt give me back my credit card with my receipt didn't notice, went back didnt give it back too me when seeing me. I called Allied Auto Store in Fremont late last Thursday night and the gentleman (Sean/Shawn) that helped me was very helpful. He looked up the battery I needed for my 1974 VW Super Beetle, and gave me a reference number. Saturday afternoon, I walked in with my number and was serviced immediately. The pricing was 1/2 the price of other auto supply stores, I highly recommend Allied Auto Store located on Grimmer. Classics Bate and Switch. I got a price for a part on the phone. Later the same day when I went to purchase it, the price was nearly doubled. When I ask the employee why the price increase, I got nothing but a sob story and a bad attitude. He would not honor any part of the phone quote. Had I made this purchase on line, I would have saved 20%, not given up a portion of a day for the drive, and not had my day ruined because of bad business practice. When I think about it, over the past 4 or 5 years, I've seen the integrity of this store slide downhill. I'm a disabled veteran. With that, I don't expect better treatment than any other person. Great pricing, knowledgeable staff, and a LARGE inventory of parts. Example: I needed a new water pump for my Lexus. Called the dealership, they wanted $275+. Called Allied and they gave me 3 different options in brands and prices. I opted for one of their recommended brands... turns out, the factory part is manufactured by the same company that Allied recommended but for A LOT less than what the dealership wanted to charge me. read more

This place is a joke! Bought injectors cap and rotor for my car. Mechanic did not need them. They refused to refund the injectors! They could only refund the core! So I gave them back brand new injectors for free! Do yourself a favor and go to AutoZone or O'Reilly's. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I've been coming to allied since I was a kid when this location was located by cloverleaf bowling alley. I would never, ever even think of buying any of my car parts anywhere, but allied. Everyone here is knowledgable, and very polite and helpful. For example, I've seen Keith working for allied since 2000, and he's the manager. They have prices lower than anyone for a retail store, and they run their business with integrity. My account with allied is so old that I'm getting my parts around 40% off of the list price, and I'm only a regular customer with an account number. I'm not even a car shop or mechanic. Not a great experience. Lines get horribly long about mid day, especially on Sat. The guys behind the counter try but they gave us the wrong rotors, and seals. We had to come back and exchange them only to find out they only had one of the correct seals. We called everywhere, found a place in Oakland but when we got there realized the guys at Allied wrote down the wrong part number, ah! And of course they didnt have the right one either, what a bust! We have been in the car driving back and forth and all over town for 5 hours... Because they have an extensive warehouse we will have to come back here but not because it's a good store. read more

4+ months later and I still haven't got my parts. First time, they didn't put my order in so I waited 2 months for nothing. Second time, I waited a month to find out they ordered the wrong part. Third time, I waited a month to find out that the part I ordered was on back order and they didn't even know when it was gonna come in. "2-3 weeks," yeah right. What's worse is that I gave them 3 chances. I could've saved myself the commute from San Jose to Fremont by going to O'riley. These people don't know what they're doing, except for Mike. Best customer service in a long time. I went into Allied today around noon to order a part for my Jaguar. Jose was at the counter to help me out. I knew it wouldnt be a simple find, and he agreed but less than a minute later he found the part! He gave me the option of ordering through them or just going online and finding it at a lower cost. He even went a step further and googled the part number and pulled up listings he found online. Then he took it another step futher and allowed me to take a picture of the listings so I could order it on my own. To me that's going beyond the call of service and I greatly appreciated it.
