Buyer beware: Unfortunately for us, the craftsmanship does not live up to the expectations of their Carvestone product. We requested a service call regarding cracks after one year. Since we believed they would live up to their word, we added, at the service manager's suggestion, to have the patio resealed after repairs. The crew that showed up stated that there was nothing to be done as they (Allied Outdoor Solutions) should have prepped the cracks and sealed them before the product was applied. The crew did not repair all the popped up areas and the disappeared for hours saying they were going for lunch. They returned at 7PM saying that they had another job they were on. Multiple asks to speak to ownership or managers have gone unanswered. read more

I had one of their reps come out a few days ago to give us a quote to pour concrete to extend our patio by about 250 square feet, add a 10x15 pergola, build a small outdoor kitchen and run gas lines for the grill (which is not included in the price). They quoted $83k! I'm also working with another contractor to build a 2000 square foot workshop and they only quoted about $50k to build the structure, pour concrete, run electrical and plumbing. Allied's pricing is ridiculous! They are taking advantage of people who don't know any better. read more

Buyer Beware!!! This was the worst project we've had done in 21 years of home ownership. Allied rated well, had the BBB ratings, had beautiful photos and brochures. We felt confident they would be worth paying the extra cost. Boy, were we fooled. The one good thing, because their cost was so high, we stuck to just the patio first and planned to have them put in the seating wall, pergola and 2nd level deck later. Seeing the terrible workmanship on the patio, we're so grateful that we weren't locked into a contract with them for the other projects! Our first concern was when we met with the project manager in the fall. We wanted to know which sprinklers we would need to have moved (from under where the patio would be). He said we didn't need to move any of them. We expressed concern over leaky pipes, he stated that they would cap all of the lines so we didn't need to worry. Fast forward to November when the work began. The crew came and excavated the area then they capped off the sprinklers at the heads themselves. My husband has installed sprinklers before and was concerned with not only the location of the caps but the quality also. There was a language barrier with the crew and he knew at this point he would like to cap the lines himself so he had them hold off on capping more and just leave the lines visible. The crew proceeded to fill in the forms with sand and soil, leveling it all off. Seeing that it was all set to be poured, we capped the remaining heads and turned on the sprinklers. The lines were ripped through in multiple places! They were going to pour the concrete over multiple broken sprinkler pipes! We called our project manager who said that the contract states that damage may be done to landscape. I mentioned that it frightened me that they would've poured over it without even checking for damage to the sprinklers. He said they always check the following morning. Wouldn't you think they would check before putting all of the sand and soil in there? Before leveling it all off perfectly? You'd think they would have turned them on while the lines were easy to see, prior to putting all of that in. We were now needing to repair sprinkler lines (within one day because they have a tight schedule) and at best it was going to take the project through until Thanksgiving. Originally we were told it would be done by Halloween. My husband was working 12 hour days and now needed to repair our backyard sprinkler system. After asking repeatedly if there was anything they could do to make this right, they apologized and said they'd take $100 off for the sprinkler heads that they bid to cap but didn't do. They didn't take anything off of our bill. Once we got the sprinkler repair work done, they came to pour. Didn't check the sprinklers at all. Arrived with the cement ready to go. Glad we had checked repeatedly. The foreman of the crew was very kind and hardworking but the majority of the crew spent a large portion of the day looking at their cell phones and sitting. After the cement was poured as it started to dry, we got another terrible surprise. Leaves and blades of grass were coming up from under the surface everywhere! As they would lift up a 1/4 inch divet was left in the top coat of the now flaking cement. It looked horrible. We had less than a week that our new 25x30 foot patio was something we could look at with anything other than frustration and dread over how many new flaws would appear today. We called AOS again. They said they would send someone out to take care of it. They came an put a little cement over the top. Leaving dark marks all over our patio (see pictures) that all dried much darker than the rest of the patio. The employee said that stuff like that "just happens, nothing they can do about it." Funny, because our friends just had their driveway replaced (by a company they made sure wasn't AOS) and as leaves fell onto it they panicked and asked the crew to please make sure that they got them out. The crew assured them that they always did that. Their driveway looks absolutely perfect. Our new patio looks like we just had a bunch of kids light fireworks all over it. Other frustrations: it slopes toward the house which we specifically requested they avoid. Also, when they attacked the rebar to the existing patio, they broke several large chunks off of our existing patio. They didn't do anything to repair this. Horrendous experience. read more

From Jack (sales) to Jesse (project manager), and everyone in between, we had an incredible experience and now have the back patio we have always wanted. The entire project included a tear-out, pouring of two new concrete areas, a bar/grill build, and a new pergola. Even with crazy weather this fall it was done in 3.5 months. The crew was polite and tidy. Our dog LOVED them all. (To the point that I had to keep him inside because he wanted the guys to keep throwing his ball!) The pergola is beyond incredible. It looks as though it was originally part of the house and roofline and not like an addition at all. Jack, Bradley, and Jesse were so patient while we made decisions. This included a couple of rounds of visualization involving spray paint on the grass where I drew out the shape I wanted and they measured and made a rendering to match it. Horrible, start to finish. Allied Outdoor Solutions has been the worst construction company I have ever dealt with. The ONLY good employee that we ever had contact with was our salesman Nathan. We scheduled a consult in early May to get some unleveled concrete replaced and refinished around our pool. Nathan came out and through some epic salesmanship, which I can completely respect, sold us on not only the concrete and carvestone work but a full pergola and outdoor kitchen. I worked as a commercial construction project manager in the past and have worked in construction most of my adult life, both hands on and now in the administration side. I know BS when I see it. If you want to keep reading this I would suggest putting on your rubber boots. We went with AOS because my wife and I are extremely busy and did not want the headache of being our own GC. Nathan was good, real good. He had all the right lingo, new what to focus on and how to get around the stuff that ended up making this entire job almost unbearable. Kudos to him. About a month after signing the papers for the job, a manager of some sort came out to go over the project and try to convince us to sign the final contract even though they refused to give a start date. Not even a window of expectation. We were assigned a "project manager", yeah, he didn't even live here! He was in Houston and our house is in Round Rock! He flat out said his job didn't require him to come to our house!!! How's that for a red flag? Not to mention he talked to us like he had been selling phone cases at a mall kiosk the week before. To say he was snarky would be an understatement. The FIRST concrete company they sent out was tasked with removing a section of concrete, prep it, install drains, and pour a new slab with a broom finish. yeah, not rocket science. It was obvious within a day that they sent a Busch league, lowest bidder "concrete company" out to do the work. I was watching them install the drains and pour the cement on my security camera while at work. To make life easy they cut the securing lips off of the drains, and they never pulled up the rebar as they poured. They simply left it on the ground and poured on top of it. By the time I got home there was cement all over my pool coping and a guy was trying to wire brush it off. I had multiple broken tiles, and they didn't put in any expansion joints in a 32 foot stretch of new concrete. Of course not a single employee from AOS was there and no one would answer the phone. Not even our "project manager" who lied later and said we never tried to contact him. It was easy to prove he lied with a few simple screen shots of a call log. The crew left us with a complete dumpster fire of a job. The next day after it was dry I went and looked at it. The drain was loose. It had at least an inch of travel in spots. After about 10 unanswered calls, which is pretty much AOS's standard procedure, a manager from Houston called and said he was in town. He wanted to look at it. He came in guns loaded to prove me wrong. Until he looked at it. It had already cracked in spots and the drain was crap. He agreed it needed to be taken completely out and redone. They were going to send the same crew. But we refused. A month later crew 2 came out. Cement work was great, but they were told to reuse the same drains. All the while knowing they had been cut and were not to standard. Guess what? The drains were still moving after round 2 of cement!! This is when we canceled our remaining contract with them. 2 weeks later we were told that they would need to cut the drains out and install new ones..... Yeah, how about that. They promised they could do the carvestone directly afterwards. We reminded them that we needed to be there for that and needed it scheduled a week out in order to get the time off to be there. The carvestone "expert" came out to do our consult and help pick colors and patterns. He was an idiot. I knew more about carvestone than he did just from reading about it online. He then wanted to start the next day. We couldn't for obvious reasons and he told AOS that we canceled him..... After that we did. We officially fired them and spent 3 months trying to get a price for the garbage they provided. Again, lots of heads to the snake. No one wanted to set the price and once they did it was astronomically high. They didn't account for the broken tiles, or stained coping. After a long conversation with the right person a more aggregable yet still inflated price was agreed upon. We thought it was finally over. We pay them and get them gone. WRONG!! I mailed them a check and got a call 2 weeks later. They never received it! I mail checks every day for work. What are the odds that the ONLY lost check I have had in years was with this company? I had to cancel the check and pay online. It finally cleared and now I am here, writing this review. read more

Where do I begin? First, I must WARN anyone looking for a reliable, dependable, professional company. You will NOT find it with Allied Outdoor Solutions. It is now a year since we signed a contract with this company and our project is still not complete. It is now a terrible eye sore in our backyard. The total for this project was 6 figures with 25% down. I failed to look at the reviews before hiring this company. I was impressed by their fancy marketing page in the weekly neighborhood flyer. Looking at the reviews now, I see they do a lot of small patio jobs. They clearly should not have taken our project on. We asked for a 16x20 detached patio with an outdoor fireplace, like the ones they advertise in their fancy flier. Nonetheless, they have failed in more ways than one. Ryan (who is no longer with the Company) came by our home and was very confident about accepting our project and taking a check for 36k. The contract stated it would take 4 months to complete. Ryan stopped returning our calls and then we were assigned to Paris. He was great at first and then he stopped returning our calls and texts. Months have gone by while building materials just sat in our driveway then moved to the backyard to sit for more time. Along with materials sitting on the ground for months, they were the wrong size for the job so they had to re-order more. While this was going they brought in 2 paver guys to start the foundation for the base of the structure. Wow, thank heaven for the men that come form Mexico to do their craft, that's the only thing Allied Outdoors has going for them. They are the best at what they do. Allied Outdoor Solutions obviously do not know how to manage a project. I have never seen such poor management and lack of communication. On occasion, we will see some men show up on the project. Looking around aimlessly with no guidance. My husband would go out and greet them and find out what they were there to do. Funny thing, my husband had to re-explain what the project was supposed to look like and even showed them illustrations. He did that a couple of times, even to the point that the masonry guys said "we can't build a fireplace on the pavers we need a concrete slab." So here we go again, waiting and waiting while the wood rots and the sheets to protect the roof fly off. Now, we have a new guy calling us, Eric. He seems very nice and professional but we fear he will soon realize what kind of company he is working for. Allied Outdoor Solutions was a fantastic choice for our most recent construction project. They were a pleasure to work with and our patio turned out beautiful! We contracted Allied Outdoor Solutions to build out the patio on our new house. The project involved considerably extending our patio with an expanded cement area and Alumawood roof cover to accommodate a family-sized set of patio furniture, as well as a wood-burning fire pit. We also wanted a small outdoor kitchen with a built-in gas grill and bar area. Allied was more than up to the task on all these asks. From the very beginning we appreciated not only how prepared Jack was with the vast array of options on offer, but also how he helped steer us toward choices that made sense for us while still making sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. We weren't completely set on how we wanted the final product to look but Jack was both patient and accommodating through the early steps. Even when we had to make another bigger change later on in the process, Allied was both kind and gracious in allowing us to do so. Once we'd gotten underway, Carlos - our project manager - was always reaching out and making sure we were happy with how the work was proceeding along. Though we ran into a few issues along the way, Allied went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect in the end. If I had to come up with a con, I would say scheduling the work itself was a bit unpredictable. Even this is very much understandable as our particular area has a lot of new home construction and demand is very high. Our job continues to deteriorate with sinking uneven pavers, grout rotting away, cracking, etc. The job was installed totally incorrectly yet they looked my in eyes and said nothing was wrong. I have since spoken to a number of contractors to completely redo this job and all of them concur it was done wrong. One contractor used to work for Allied and said he quit because he couldn't look himself in the mirror anymore after ripping people off. It's what this company does. I contracted with Allied for a new patio cover which was completed in 2022. The scope of the project was to demo an existing wood deck and pergola, pour a new concrete slab, and build an Alumawood patio cover which would attach to my home. I choose Allied based on their reputation and I felt that paying a bit extra because of it would be worth it in the long run. Spoiler alert, it was not. The people I worked with at Allied were all really great and if that alone was the measurement stick I would sing their praises all day long. Unfortunately that is not the basis of this review. While there were multiple issues over the life of the project, I am focusing on two big issues and Allied's responses to them. The first issue is that the patio cover itself was to stop three feet from the edge of the slab to allow for a sunshelf and was to be supported by three posts in the front and a fourth was to be on the long side for support. Instead, the patio cover was built to extend all the way to the end and has four posts on the front. (The side post was not needed per Allied and as not added.) Running the patio to the end instead of creating the sunshelf as an outright error which they admitted; the extra post in the front I was told was something they could do if they felt it was structurally needed because I had signed a document that allows them to make these kind of changes. Allied offered me three options to address the situation: 1) leave everything as is (four posts, extended to the edge); 2) they would take everything apart and redo it to three posts with the sunshelf; 3) redo it to three posts and keep the coverage to the edge, but I would have to pay for the additional square footage. I had concerns about how a reduction would impact light placements and in perfect honesty I ended up preferring the extended coverage over the sunshelf. I wanted the third option (three posts, keep extended coverage) but since Allied didn't have to order any additional material and actually would have to do less work by not needing to re-cut everything I asked if they would be willing to waive the additional charge. Allied refused to do so. That was their right, although I felt it petty when there was no additional out of pocket to them between options 2 and 3. The second issue and the one I got no redress for involves the placement of two outdoor ceiling fans. When Allied drew up the work order for the city permits they presented a drawing of the fan placements that I felt was slightly off. I had a phone conversation with them and was told that the drawing was only to show the path of the electrical and didn't represent the actual placement. I verbally told them the fans were to be placed evenly and they agreed. I also sent an email recapping the conversation which I thought would protect me in case something happened. After construction I learned that due to the nature of the product all fixtures (lighting, fans) must be attached to a beam that runs in the center of each ceiling panel and based on how the panels were installed it is not possible to place the fans evenly. Instead, the fans are forced to favor one side of the patio or another. When drilling the holes to run the electrical, Allied did not verify placements with me (and I was home and available) but instead decided to place them so that one fan is over the seating area and one fan over a walkway where nobody will sit. Had I been consulted I would have told them to place both fans over the seating area instead of a walkway. You would think that Allied would verify placements with the customer - especially if that customer had expressed prior concerns, but nope. After the fact I was told that they could move the fans sure enough but the inch wide holes in the aluminum panels would be an eyesore - although they could put face plates over them if I wanted. I was not happy about this and let Allied know. I also told them that I was making a list of issues and that I would be bringing it up again when the project was complete. At the end of the project I did bring it up as I said I would and was told that Allied doesn't credit accounts they fix issues. And I responded they need to fix this issue by moving the fans and replacing the old panels as neither holes nor faceplaces are acceptable. First they told me the airflow was fine, then they said it was done according to the work order, then I found what I thought would protect me wasn't strong enough because they still refuse to address it. Multiple times I asked to speak with a manager (above their technical lead whom I found to be very condescending) and every time that request was never even acknowledged. Other statements in the conversation were responded to but every request to speak to a manager was completely ignored. Not once did they have even the courtesy to say "no". And at no time was I anything less than professional. I will never use Allied again nor recommend them to anyone else. read more

I had my back porch finished in their Carverstone about two years ago. While I'm happy with the job that was done - I now find after two years they are contacting me to power wash and reseal the back porch. The area that was done in Carverstone is not quite 8' x 15' - which is approximately 120 ft.². They want to charge me $1,157 to power wash and reseal this tiny little area! This is part of the warranty process and if you don't get it resealed every couple of years then you void the warranty - that was explained to me but not what the cost would be. Now, they do allow me to reseal it myself but I have to keep records of what I've done in order to maintain my warranty. A gallon of acrylic sealer cost about $36 and covers 300 ft.² I find this "maintenance cost" outrageous and I'm definitely not going to do it. I have a power washer and can certainly reseal this small area myself. To charge $1,157 is ridiculous - that's some pretty expensive labor you have going there because it certainly can't be the materials - I'm assuming you helicopter the workers in to justify the cost. Unfortunately, there's no helicopter pad in my neighborhood so I'm going to pass on this "offer". Read the fine print people and understand the hidden costs before signing. read more

2014 we had allied outdoor solution install Carveston our pool deck. it had been resealed every 2 years None of this was under their warranty. We have had color fading and cracking. Last time they came to fix the color and reseal. That work only lasted less than 6 months. When we reach out to them they final responded 4 months later with a +3,000 dolllar estimate. Quick Summary of the Highlights: First day, two of their employees fought at my home and the police were called because of this. Still first day, Allied damaged my pool line, which caused my yard to flood and damaged the pool equipment. Call me crazy (which Allied did (see the attached text)), but these things seem like a good reason to maybe not have someone back to your home. Then, two other employees, I say "other" so you aren't confused with the two who had the fight at my home. (I will come back to one of the two fighters later, let's call him Fighter 1.) These "other" two refused to leave my property after 3 separate requests to do so. All of this was on video, and even provided too Allied. After repeated calls and messages, Allied said they would refund my deposit. However, same day as agreeing to the refund, Fighter 1 (do you remember who he is from above?). Fighter 1 calls and says I owe him money and says he will come to my house to get the payment. Again, call me crazy (which Allied did) but I am not a big fan of people threatening to come to my home, especially people who already had a fight at my home and damaged property at my home and had the police come out to my home. I told Allied of this, and asked if this is resolved. Chad Turner, with Allied, said "we can't handcuff the guy to his car and stop him from coming to your house", which, I guess, technically is an answer. But, this might be me being crazy, it didn't make me feel a whole lot better. Also, right after they said this, Fighter 1 called me again. So, good times. Even Quicker Summary: Employees Fight at my home, Police called, Damaged property, Harrassment/Refusal to Leave, Threats from Employees, Damaged Property, and Handcuff Talk. If any of these things seem like an issue, you might want to find someone else to do your work. Read on below if you want more detail but basically the same info. Much Much Longer Summary: Signed a contract early May for concrete and resurface with Carvestone. Paid 1/3 down as a deposit at signing. Work didn't start until 3 months after the contract was signed. Even 3 months later, they couldn't give any sort of definitive timeframe when the job would be completed. First day, two of the workers get into a fight and the Austin Police were called to my house. Also, they hit my pool line which caused my yard to flood. I asked them to fix the pool line, because my yard was continuing to flood and it was draining my pool. But, they didn't. By the middle of the second day, I asked to cancel the project, stop work, and for them to refund my deposit. After this, the salesperson and Fighter 1 called/texted saying I owed them and that they did "good work". (We have different definitions of "good" and "work".) But, I had given them a deposit so no idea what they thought I owed. Next, the salesperson said someone was coming to fix the damage to my pool. When they show up, the salesperson and field supervisor say it is Fighter 1, who is going to fix the pool line. I previously told them Fighter 1 wasn't allowed back on my property. (You know because of the whole fight, police, damage property thing, oh also he has no experience as a plumber.) I then tell the field supervisor and salesperson to leave (3 separate times), which they refuse. They said they can stand in the street and don't have to leave. In their defense, I did say get the _____ off my property. All of this was recorded, and even provided too Allied. I am going to have to pay to have my pool line and equipment fixed, finish the demo, and pay to have my yard fixed. Response from Claire H: I have reached out to 4 different people, and called that number 3 different times with no call back. This is a form response and clearly not sincere. One process you could "refine" is not having employees threaten customers or employees get into fights where the police are called to the customer's home. Just a thought I finally heard back from someone a couple of days later, and they said they would refund the deposit. However, I got a text from Fighter 1 stating I owe him money for the work since AOS is refunding me. (See the attached text.) This is the same guy who got into a fight at my house, and the police were called about. I told Allied about this, and that he also said he would come to my house to get the payment. They never got back to me, and I followed up several times. They finally said they "believe" they have this resolved but can't guarantee anything. Chad Turner, with Allied, said "we can't handcuff the guy to his car and stop him from coming to your house".  This is an insulting response because obviously that isn't what I am asking.  Also, right after I hung up with Chad (literally around 15 mins later), Fighter 1 called me again. read more

We wanted a large patio for entertaining space and a place to put our hot tub. From the beginning interactions with Jack we knew we were working with a professional and thoroughly knowledgeable company. We had lots of communication through the whole process. They even threw in the front porch area as a bonus. And if for any reason you couldn't reach one person there was always someone knowledgeable to speak to. Having been in customer relations roles for many years, I know the importance of communication and Allied does a great job. Highest praise definitely goes to the Field Supervisor: Ryan McDonnell. He was prompt and attentive and I can't say enough good things about the interactions with him. When we couldn't reach our construction coordinator, Ryan was always prompt to reply or address concerns. He made the experience better. Also, the concrete crew knew their business. I think the head concrete guys name was Vargus? He was friendly and communicated well. The carvestone crew was amazing! They put up with me being an artist and color being very important to me, turning the sample board creation into an hour long process. I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. In the end, they are artists themselves and they did an incredible job creating the stone look I was after. We now have a beautiful patio that will last for many, many years and I want to spend every day outside (once we get past the 101 degree days . Worst communication, least dependable, most mismanaged, and highest cost of any contractor I've encountered in the greater Austin area. Went through two project coordinators (Josh H and Matthew D), contacted their Marketing Manager (Ashley A), escalated to two Directors (Matthew B and Jordan W), and each one let me down repeatedly. It was this simple: wanted a second story deck, an outdoor kitchen, a pool deck expansion, and I wanted it to be enclosed as much as possible. Their overly hyped iPad explainers and TheHomeMag adverts said this would be quick and easy. Well, it has been 2.5 months and I got half a dozen canceled appointments, two sets of incorrect renders, and an estimate for $540k with no follow-up to explain why. The ballpark estimate the second project coordinator (MD) gave was for just north of $100k, so this was a shock and their Director of Sales canceled an appointment and stopped responding to emails to breakdown why the quote was 5x what was reasonable. There is a systemic communication and compassion deficit from top to bottom. We decided to go with the more expensive turn-key operation here, and they were a huge disappointment. It has been almost TWO MONTHS and after multiple no shows, flakes, and company surveys, still no one has bothered to show up and clean up the rubble left on my neighbor's side of the property line. Additionally, they had agreed to come back and level a few pavers that were tripping-hazards. Since 97% of the work was done, I took my project manager's (Paris) word that the work would be completed and cleaned up early the next week and paid them. This has now resulted in 8 weeks of chasing him and the company around to no avail despite multiple promises on their end. They have wasted considerable time, and now I need to find another company to pay to finish. I've been stood up regularly and am now being ignored. They put a lot of effort into the beginning of capturing your business, but ZERO effort in completion or cleanup. I cannot say they were worth the upcharge for "turnkey." Their bid was considerably more than any other. They cost more and do not save you the headaches. I would have been better off with a smaller operation that actually cares about their customer's satisfaction and doing the right thing. Customer beware.... Follow up: Interesting that they keep wanting to "talk" about it but yet that yields no action! Still no actual call from my PM or even response... still no work done. Even their customer service keeps apologizing for the issues and yet can't get anyone here. AND Like another reviewer, we had two rounds of up charges. After contracts were signed, they "forgot" to include the paver delivery and wanted another $1k! Wondering if that is a scam to upcharge. Altogether, it was a fortune for two sections of driveway, and I still have to worry about my elderly mother tripping and find someone to cleanup my neighbor's side. Same time wasting run-around. Honestly, one of the worst experiences of my 30 years as a homeowner. The customer service is NON EXISTENT. The timeline promised was overdue Long ago. Weeks and weeks ago. The project manager named Paris will not keep me updated as to what is going on/what the problems are, unless I call him over and over and over again during the week. When he says he'll call right back, it is always a lie. Really, I'm appalled and seeking to find out who owns this company. And no one has bothered to say "we are so sorry", which would go a long way. Will my pool deck ever be finished by these people? Poor Craftmanship, No accountability The least I can say is I'm beyond disappointed with our completed project. I did a lot of research on various companies, read reviews, looked at photos, etc. We chose Allied for their professionalism, beautifully completed projects and their stated commitment to client satisfaction. I'm disappointed with all aspects of the project. I was excited to get our project going! Now I wish I had never done it. I wanted to have a nice outdoor space installed by skilled professionals. Seems reasonable. Our end result looks like a DIY with an absurd price tag and looks nothing like the beautiful photos we were shown. The company won't acknowledge their poor craftsmanship or find a reasonable solution, place all responsibility on the client and is taking no ownership of their work. I would think if this is company standard, my patio would be the highlight of their website but I just don't see the photos posted anywhere.... weird. If I had a dollar for every time Allied told me "don't worry, you're going to love this" I'd be able to pay cash for the project. It feels like a Jedi mind trick. It was a small job on their spectrum so I feel like they simply don't care how disappointing this is - I'm sure if I had a $200k job I'd be treated better. I didn't expect this type of discrimination. There's a 3x5 puddle in the middle of the patio. The grout and rubber coating discolored within 2 days of installation and will not come clean no matter the amount of scrubbing. The best they can say is this is their product standard. They don't stand behind their work. They aren't concerned with client satisfaction, they only want money. I was called for payment 20 minutes after the job was 'complete' when I had given them feedback on the poor quality of work fully expecting someone to contact me to make it right. The only call I got was for payment. I have another outdoor project I need done but you can rest assured that I will find another company to avoid paying outrageous prices for a poorly done job. The term 'you get what you pay for' does not apply to Allied. Main issues: The patio pools in the middle any time water comes in contact with the uncovered portion of the patio- rain, condensation, lawn watering resulting in a 3x5 puddle I have to sweep away. They claim they knew this, but they didn't tell us in any pre-construction meeting. In fact, we were told the opposite. The grout and rubber coating is stained yellow and looks old and dingy after only a few weeksIt won't come clean (haven't tried pressure washing every day, sorry). I chose their recommended colors but am now being told I picked colors that are too light. No disclosure that in less than a week they would no longer look like the colors I picked. The carvestone lines were poorly drawn- a child could have done a better job. They 'fixed' this but you can tell where they ground out the lines. The crew left their trash in my yard and were generally disrespectful of our personal space- Soda bottles in the yard. Used a our storage container as a trash can. Poured leftover concrete on my lawn (killed it in spots). Left fist-sized chunks of concrete all over the backyard. Thoroughly disappointing and frustrating situation that we can do nothing about except leave a review and hopefully help others avoid the mistake we made. read more

I would not recommend Allied Outdoor Solutions. Several friends/neighbors are having their deck remodeled and asked who we are using. We told them not to ever use this company. The sales people are young guys who are slick bait and switch types. From day one we were promised things that never was the case. We had on our quote to have a landscape planter built just like one we already had. The quote said "to be exact and with caps" instead they tried to install a small cheap version with no caps. Wouldn't change the order so we had to find another vendor. They sales person also said 4 weeks from start barring rain and it was almost 8 weeks not due to rain but because "There are 11 jobs in front of you" . Also, they have a NO ESCALATION policy - so if they are late or damage your property they will not allow you to escalate to management. I emailed Houston twice and called the Dallas office twice and no one would return a call or even acknowledge my communication So when things go wrong you have no recourse. Also, the Preconstruction Contract alleviates them from any responsibility. There was $123.00 worth of property damage - landscape cord severed, expensive outdoor matt severed in half filled the hot tub prematurely and had to drain it at cost to our water bill. They said if we paid out final bill short $123.00 they would take legal action. Wow. So we have to buy this ourselves though THEY damaged it. In the construction agreement this is called collateral damage and alleviates them from any responsibility. Also their crews complained that ALLIED PAYS THEM LATE. They also said the construction supervisor doesn't communicate well with them. The crew had to ask us repeatedly what they were supposed to do that day. We are building a roof and outdoor kitchen this spring and will not use Allied at all. Terrible company. read more

We had gotten several quotes from various companies for a new patio. We were hesitant to pick the company we wanted to work for and decided to go ahead with Allied Outdoor Solutions. We were not disappointed of our choice - they did a very decent job at completing a patio project. Jesse, the project manager, did an excellent job at letting us know and taking care of a few hiccups along the way. The final result looks really good, we just wish that the crew had taken a little bit more care of cleaning the workspace better and protect surrounding structures better during demolition, construction and sealant application. But overall, very satisfied with the way we have been treated and glad to finally get to enjoy our patio! read more

Allied transformed our ordinary patio into something extraordinary in less than 4 months. From first contact until last, the team has been nothing short of remarkable. Communication and service mean a lot to my wife and I and allied absolutely delivered. Taylor J took our napkin sketch and helped turn into something beautiful during the design phase. Our coordinators, Madison and Rachel, were two of the most genuine, nice, and responsive people my wife and I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Juan and his team did a fantastic job with the construction and was very easy to work with. He and his tetanus so much pride in their work. Peter and his team worked efficiently and diligently to get the carvestone done. Finally, our field supervisor, Jack, was amazing! WOW, that's literally all I can say about our experience with this incredibly professional, customer and quality oriented team at Allied OutdoorSolutions! We had a complete dual patio addition and extension in our backyard, also build and install outdoor kitchen, and evening out the current patio to one even level with carvestone overlay. From our conception meeting with Taylor, to our engineering meeting, our office/communications lead Nicole, our site leader Ryan, plus the on-site teams led by Evelio, Alma, Jack, Joseph, Juan...I'm sure I'm forgetting someone, (sorry) we are beyond thrilled with the end product. The entire project came in on budget and slightly ahead of schedule! AOS seamlessly handled permitting, inspections with the city along the way, coordination of 5-6 different crews (given our scope of work) with timing, materials, demo, rebuild, reframing, etc. They addressed our questions promptly and thoroughly and sometimes anticipated the info we needed. My wife and I have finally decided to make our backyard a destination (pool and outdoor kitchen). After hearing ads for these guys on the radio I decided to give them a call. I especially like their website and the flow of it as we started thinking about what we'd want to do. The initial consultation was very good and both the salesperson (Jack) and I had a good idea of what we wanted to do. Jack also left us with several brochures and ideas - some of which we hadn't even thought of. Jack also has the patience of Job as the design and consultation process has been one that has had us change our minds several times. I have held back and avoided writing a review about Allied Outdoor Solutions (AOS) but we have reached a point that the egregious behaviors and lack of customer satisfaction require that others be aware of the gaps and complete abandonment of what was committed. We signed a contract with AOS on February 3, 2021 for a full renovation of our pool deck including removal of existing flagstone and coping. The deliverable was a full cement base with appropriate slope and drainage, coping replaced, tiles replaced, then Carvestone applied, all of this was committed to be completed by the end of May. There were a series of complete program management failures, the coping wasn't ordered as AOS "forgot it", once that was identified the shipper was given the wrong address and this coping was "lost" for approximately 4 weeks. I stepped in and personally called the shipper rattling a few chains (the shipper was completely surprised that a customer was calling) as AOS was taking zero accountability of ownership for tracking this down. They finally located this material in Houston, I live in Austin, but was told it would take 4 weeks to get it to my home. I finally called the President of AOS, Drew Williams, and asked that he get involved as this was going sideways because his people couldn't risk mitigate or problem solve. I told Drew this was easy, get a pickup and drive this copping to Austin, a 2.5 hour drive then get things moving. Well, the coping finally arrived (I will not go into the deliver debacle as AOS is not accountable, let me just say I'm happy the delivery driver wasn't harmed as he lost control of the pallet jack and damaged many parts, fortunately they were salvaged). Going forward, the coping was placed but there was no sense of urgency, the people doing this work didn't show for 4 days when they could have worked then they sent 1 man to do this work for 3 days, a true 2 to 3 man job (where was the safety element here?). Next was the prep and pouring of the concrete, I relied on AOS to bring in a fully capable crew. Let's just say that all the "work" by this crew had to be completely jackhammered out plus they didn't put in any expansion materials, they didn't put up any plastic to protect the fence around the pool or the stucco around the house, they short ordered the cement at 9 yards (it took 16), what a complete disaster. You know what really is troubling? At no time was any Program Manager from AOS onsite to check or validate the quality or workmanship of their chosen contractor! 2 more calls into Drew Williams and I thought things were tracking, he sent Fernando to demo the first mess (great job) then they brought in Angel to clean, prep, form and repour - excellent work, that all finished today 6/24. So I ask the PM for next steps with very specific dates and timelines, I'm told they can "estimate" and "do their best" but even though I'm "high on the priority list" no one can be here until July 5. Let's look at what needs to be accomplished: they loaded my pool with debris, it needs to be drained, acid washed, then refilled. They did a poor quality job on tiles, they need to be morticed and re-aligned. The Carvestone needs to be applied. There are so many items I just asked for a timeline to get the pool usable, we've lost all of June and the big family event for the 4th won't happen because of AOS's complete disregard to what they committed. I will post this on as many social media sites as possible to raise awareness, I am also pursuing other remedy, stay tuned. If I were the President of AOS, after getting 3 calls from a dissatisfied customer, I would have been on this insuring that my best and brightest were making it come together at the highest quality levels, the PM that owns responsibility for the failures is still on the job after I asked he be removed, AOS at the top levels is just not listening of responding. This may be long but I left out all of the texts, calls, emails, etc trying to get AOS to meet their obligations and commitments, I cannot express how dissatisfied we are - 0 out of 5 stars and we still don't know when this will be completed. read more

It was great working with Jack and Jesse at Allied Outdoor Solutions. From the time I set up the appointment until the concrete was installed, everything was seamless. In fact, they were able to put in our concrete sooner than expected. Jesse was available anytime to ask questions and he came out after the project was completed to do a final walk through and address any concerns that we had (we didn't have any). I've had the product for quite sometime and although I liked it years ago, I've decided to replace it with natural stone primarily because they recommend resealing every 1-2 years and out cost would be $1200. I had it done 2 years ago but now, to me, it's better to replace it and move on. I would say that's the only thing to consider; maintenance. Might be cheaper to do it yourself but over 10 years with them performing the resealing, it would cost me $6,000. read more

Although a few glitches along the way, the project is finished and looks great!! Starting with sales, Jack came out and sold us on the Carvestone. We had a bid from another place for a totally different concept but after speaking with Jack, even though the cost was nearly double, we decided to go with Carvestone. We expanded our existing patio more than doubling the size. We had our meeting with the concrete supervisor and a different Jack, the Carvestone supervisor. The project was ready to go and then pushed back. When the concrete part began, the group sent was unprepared and a 2 day project took a week. Much time was spent by the understaffed crew sitting around waiting for materials. They began the second day before normal/allowable work time causing us to apologize to neighbors for the noise. The communication with the crew and supervisors was less than stellar. The actual job done was very good. They have to learn not to promise what they can't deliver. Now the opposite was true for the Carvestone work. The crew of two arrived when they said they would. Communication was excellent. They kept us informed every step of the process and did exactly what they said they were going to do. Jose is a professional who knows his job well. They were both artisans. Jose helped with the ultimate color scheme and the finished product is amazing. We incorporated the design with our old patio and have about a 300 sq. ft. entertaining space (plus a slab poured separately for our grill). This crew worked efficiently and left the area cleaner than when they found it! Jack, the supervisor, came near completion and was helpful and very accommodating. He has great customer service skills. We would highly recommend AOS to our friends, neighbors or anyone who wants to add beauty and value to their home! read more

I had an outdoor kitchen and carvestone installed last summer. The process was awful, constant delays, lack of communication and worst of all poor quality workmanship. These guys didn't follow basic building principles, for example they ran the drain for the kitchen sink uphill right onto the electric box. It's been a year, there are cracks everywhere, looks like crap, the electricity to the kitchen is constantly out, very disappointed, definitely would not recommend. read more

Unimpressed upon completion but deleted my first poor review to give them a fair chance and live with the patio first. Three weeks later I'm still very underwhelmed. The salesman was incredible but execution is far less than satisfactory and way over priced when you consider the results. Biggest complaint and final straw, we chose the flagstone pattern to incorporate existing cracks as they are not warrantied, which is understandable. Sales pitch is that the cracks will be skillfully incorporated into the grout lines so they don't stand out if/when they come back. Once the material was poured over our entire 800 sq ft odd shaped patio, and before grout lines were carved, I asked the supervisor how he knew where the old cracks were and he pointed to his head. Wow! Photographic memory and he chooses to lay Carvestone for a living, I thought. Needless to say after four weeks it's cracking in various places and they are no where near the grout lines. Don't remember this many cracks in the ten year old patio we replaced! Furthermore, the reason I went with this product is because it was supposed to look like individual stones once completed. The color of the grout lines is inconsistent making sections of the patio blend together. Insult to injury, they decided to dispose of the excess material in a multitude of different places in my grass leaving large patches that have killed my lawn. It's hard to enjoy a backyard when most of your time is spent pulling weeds in a crushed granite walkway. That was our situation until we had walkways put in. Allied Outdoor Solutions improved our backyard by building permanent walkways. Matt Knobloch came out and we walked over the project potential. He gave us a bid with several options allowing us to choose based on wants and budgets. His crew started very soon after we agreed on the project. I can't say enough good things about Peter and Joseph. They are young men who understood the vision we had for the project and went about building it. They also showed an artistic flair in free handing the flagstone pattern for the walk. The colors used matched existing structures beautifully. We completed a patio replacement project with Allied Outdoor Solutions and we are really very happy with the result. We had an old wood deck and a concrete pool deck that has a carverstone type finish ( hand carved stone ) and we wanted to replace the wood deck with a concrete patio and have the finish match the original pool deck. We had the pleasure of working with Jordan, Shea and Chris at various stages of the project and while Shea did tell us that we should not expect the two areas to match and that the crew would do their best to come close he could not promise a match. Well he was wrong ! The crew doing the carverstone got the match we were after and we were so pleased. After the project was complete we found a small area on the original pool deck that must have lifted during the reseal and when we pointed this out during our final walk through Shea said he would take care of it himself and sure enough he came out and patched the spot.
