I had my transmission rebuilt by a different shop, which will remain nameless. The reason I'm not mentioning the name is that I received a full refund for the faulty rebuild. Three years after the rebuild, it kept blowing sensor blocks every two months or so. The nameless shop kept replacing the sensor block. It would last about two months and fail again. Five sensor blocks, a computer, and three years later, the shop owner refunded my money. I took my 2001 SType Jag to Allied Transmissions. I told Mike the whole story about my bad experience, and I was doubtful Allied could fix my trans but I was wrong. The tech said the sensor block had bad solder joints, about three. He also found a bad seal and repaired it. This happened 1 and 1/2 years ago, and my car is still running great. I promised Mike 1 1/2 years ago I would give him a 5 star review. After the way I doubted him and mistrust him, I stopped by the shop to apologize to Mike for my behavior and thanked him again for the great job they did. BTW, Mike is a really nice guy too. First dealt with Allied in about 2017 when my Jeep would roll while in park. I was expecting a pricey repair, but was pleasantly surprised to find out it was just a bolt that needed tightening. These guys are great! They took my dad's 2003 3.2TL with the faulty automatic and turned it around with a new torque converter in less than a week. The kicker is that it was completely covered under warranty from the original transmission replacement a few years ago. The transmission appears to be faultless so far, and the shifts are as smooth and quick as new. What's more, they paid even more than the pre-arranged 50% of the cost for a rental car for the 6 days! Let me start by saying that I did not have my car repaired here. This review is based on my experiences when getting my free diagnosis. I knew that I probably needed a new transmission when I went here. The manager/owner Bob sent one of his technicians to ride in the car with me and listen to the transmission. After that, he put it on the lift and told me he thinks it sounds like the bearings are bad. When I walked back into the office I noticed a white board in the shop which read "Goal: $10,000". Under that it listed all of the cars I could see being repaired and how much each one was going to cost the customer. ie Pontiac $1275...Ford $1300... This was my first sign that I was more of a dollar sign to this guy than a customer. The second bad sign occurred when I asked Bob a relatively simple question about manual transmissions. His reply to me was something like, 'I don't know, I'm not a tech.' Strike two. If you own and operate a transmission specialty shop, I expect you to be more knowledgeable than all of your techs. Bob gave me an estimate of $1475 for a bearing kit. But he told me if I bring the car in by next week I could take $300 off. A transparent sale trick I guess. I told him I didn't have the money to bring it in so soon. And then, Strike three. He looked at me and with a condescending, almost sarcastic tone he said, "Why did you bring it here if you don't have the money?" Well, to answer your question Bob, I brought it here because your website has 1 HOUR FREE DIAGNOSIS blasted all over it. And how am I supposed to get my car fixed on a limited budget if I don't get an estimate first? After that I was done with Bob and Allied Transmission Company forever. I ended up going to Four B Auto Service based on Yelp reviews and I got a used transmission installed and other work for less than Allied's estimate for a bearing kit. Read my review of Four B if you want to hear about a great shop. As a final example of how poor an impression this place made on me, at one point I asked Bob how much it would cost to fill my leaking transmission oil right then until I could get enough $ to fix everything. But surprise surprise, this TRANSMISSION shop didn't have any synthetic gear oil on the premises. Strike four, goodbye. read more

My experience could have been a lot worse, but it also could have been a lot better. We were originally going to have our insurance tow our vehicle to the transmission shop for free, but when we talked to Bob on the phone he offered free towing as well. We thought this was a great offer and decided to take him up on it. After a few days of the vehicle being at the shop, the offer of $2400 for a rebuilt transmission was just too much - our vehicle was barely worth that even with a working transmission! After a day of mulling it over we decided to call Bob back with the news. Only after saying the repairs were too much did he offer to just 'fix' the transmission for $1300-$1600. Had he offered the less expensive option to begin with we may have taken it, but it was still a little too steep, considering the worth of the car. After we told him we were just going to try to sell it we found out we would have to pay the original tow. Only $75, but money we didn't HAVE to spend since we were going to use a free tow service to begin with. The two stars isn't for bad work per say. Rather, it was for the backwards way that we were dealt with. read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service. They scheduled me to come in and then cancelled at the last minute saying they were too busy. I had arranged my schedule based on leaving my car that day and they completely disregarded that. I asked if I could schedule for another day and they said NO because they crystal said they do not schedule appointments. She said the only thing I could do is to call in every morning to see if they had any opening. It was a very disappointing experience!! read more

I took my car to get repaired. I gave them the information about how my Suzuki Forenza needs special equipment to get into the transmission. I thought this was understood so when i asked them to check the fluid they said they needed more time to figure out how to do that. I had to wait over the long weekend to find out the results which where that they never had the equipment and would need to borrow it from another location that would take a week to do. Therefore wasting an additional 5 days that the car could have been taken somewhere else. Slightly frustrating. Maybe they would be better for another repair but for my Suzuki completely useless. read more

Awesome service ! My Car was running really bad I barely made it to the shop! After 5 minutes of looking at my car they found out what the problem was I was going to take a taxi home but the owner bob offered me a ride home (I lived close by) which I really appreciated! They do an in house finance for people unable to afford the whole bill which was awesome without that service I would not have been able to afford my car getting fixed and probably would have ended up taking the bus for a few months until I was able to buy a new car! Zero Stars!!! I had a noise in the rear end of my pickup. One of the mechanics was in my truck and I drove it very slowly so he could hear the noise. He confirmed that it was the rear end and said maybe the spider gears were broken. It was in the shop for a week before they even got around to looking it aut the rear end. The shop manager called me and said that the rear end "looked beautiful" and there was nothing wrong with the rear end. He told me that it must be the transmission. They drained the transmission fluid and didn't find anything. Did the same with the transfer case and nothing. Then he calls to tell me it was the springs in the rear end that needed to be ground down. The positraction has been in that truck or over 10 years. Long story short, over $1300.00 and two weeks. You be the judge. I also had to have the left side of the bed painted since they left out and it was side swiped. Good luck!!! read more

So I just got my car back from this place and I was very pleased with the service. Originally I had my car towed to Calabazas RV or Auto on the recommendation of a friend. They don't fix transmissions there but gave me the number to Bob @ Allied. Transmissions are expensive as heck and it was going to take me some time to come up with the money. I explained my situation to the guys at Calabazas and Allied and both places were great. They told me to just call them when I would be close to having the money and they would get started and they wouldn't charge me a storage fee. :) Allied transmission offers financing options for those who qualify it which is great, even though I didn't qualify for it... Hey they offer it so that's a good thing! I called and bugged Bob and Crystal with my 100 questions and they were always very polite and helpful. The transmission has a 3 year warranty on it and the mechanics ran a diagnostic check on the car to check for other problems as well. They stand behind their work and Bob has been in business for almost 30 years. Needless to say, I was able to work the money situation out and got my car back on the date they said it would be ready. Top notch place!! I was reffered to Allied from the people who usually do my lite maintanance on my 2003 Lincoln LS; Last week my "Check Transmission" warning came on my computer display on the dash, I also noticed that the RPM's were reving up real high between 2nd and 3rd shifts then the infamouse "Check Engine Light" displayed I was going to wait till my day off to take the car in but on my way to work it really was strarting to run bad so I called and spoke with the office Manager, she was very helpful and knowledgeable I told here I had an appt later that week but really did not want to drive the car in that condition of fear that I could cause more damage to the transmission; She told me to go ahead and bring the car in and offered a free diagnostic, I was very nervouse because I thought it was going to cost alot of $$$; After the diagnostic I was told it could be one of two things a "Servo" or "Band" gone bad she quoted me an estimate of what the repairs could be I told her to go ahead with what ever they needed to do, she told me they would know more once they took the cover plate off and looked into to transmission further. I should also say that I did call this place on a Sunday when I was reffered and left a message, I got a call back from Bob the owner within an hour! The office manager set me up with a rental at a very resonalbe price, after them having my car in their shop for just two days I was called by Bob and he said the problem was the "Servo" and that everything else lookied good and that I could come pic the car up. I was so pleased that they did not try and up-sell me they fixed what needed to be done and it was quite resonalble!! They also guarantee their work for 6 months on the repairs that I had done. We just had our 2003 Jetta transmission repaired here. We had taken the car to the Stevens Creek VW, where they wanted to replace the entire valve body. But Bob at Allied did a thorough diagnostic and found only a solenoid needed replacement. Bob did the repair at less than half the price the VW service shop was going to charge us. Not only that, he towed the car for free, answered every single phone call, and always called back when when he promised he would. And he completed the repairs when promised, too. Automatic transmissions are complicated and expensive to repair. That being said, I will give you my experience with Allied Transmission. I recently had Allied Transmissions rebuild the transmission on my 86 Corvette. Initial estimate was $1295 but end cost was $1815 out the door. Of course it is difficult for any transmission shop to estimate repair cost until they open it up, just a "heads up" that more often than not, it is going to cost you (much) more than the original estimate. The financing is available but it is only 3 month no interest. After that, the interest rate is 23.99% min. so keep that in mind if you do the finance option. I have had the car back about 5 days now and I have noticed a new "clunking" metal sound when the car goes into OD gear. Not good. At this point, I would not drive it very far as the sound is really loud. They do give a 1 year warranty (or 12000 miles) so I will update this after they repair the transmission again (FYI - they also offer 3 year, 50000 Mile warranty that will set you back another $350.00) read more
