I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Armstrong Moving & Storage…read more Before our move, salesman Tom Allmon visited our home and discussed Armstrong providing packing services, including using donated boxes to reduce costs. Based on those conversations, we received an estimate of approximately $5,070. When the moving crew arrived on April 24, 2026, we were unexpectedly told that Armstrong's paperwork showed we were responsible for packing our own belongings. This was the first time anyone had communicated that expectation. With movers already at our home and no practical alternative, I was told Armstrong could still pack our belongings if I immediately approved an additional charge of about $2,200. Before delivery was completed, I was notified that the crew had exceeded the estimated hours and that I owed another $2,700. Multiple requests to speak with management were ignored, and promised return calls never occurred. When our belongings were delivered, several items were damaged or improperly reassembled, including a headboard installed backward, scratched furniture, unattached dresser mirrors, and crushed lampshades. Nearly a month later, I received a notice claiming I still owed $4,973 without an itemized explanation. After finally speaking with company president Todd Peterson, the balance was reduced to $1,433--a reduction of more than $3,500. This raised serious concerns about the accuracy of the original billing. In the end, a local move of roughly 10 miles cost $8,711, far exceeding the original estimate. Between the unexpected charges, damaged property, poor communication, and dismissive handling of my concerns, this was an extremely disappointing experience that I would not recommend to others.

We had a relatively complex move (to Canada) and these guys handled everything very professionally…read more Appointments were kept, the quote was honored, the packers were on time, pleasant, helpful in the scramble (that I think always occurs on moving day). The driver who brought everything to Canada called us a couple of days ahead of time to coordinate schedules and to discuss what we needed to bring to the Canadian customs office with him. We followed his recommendations and everything went smoothly through customs in about 10 minutes. Then all our belongings were delivered as scheduled to our new home. The driver and the local move-in crew did now know each other, but quickly got themselves organized and worked very well together. None of the belongings were damaged, none of the walls or floors were scuffed (even though we moved into a three story townhouse, so a lot of furniture went up one or two flights of stairs). The movers were even good natured about moving a couple of heavy pieces of furniture to two different locations (as we changed our minds about placement once the furniture was moved in). The move couldn't have been done any better.
