I went with my son to Asset Recycling yesterday to purchase a couple things he needed. I honestly…read morehave no idea how people find things here without an employee. Items are organized but nevertheless it took a bit of time to locate what we needed. Asset Recycling houses over 30,000 square feet of new and ready-to-use resources. My son has been here often so he's becoming familiar with certain areas and found what he wanted. I, on the other hand, was overwhelmed. Asset Recycling is a division of Youth Fair Chance, Inc., and in operation since April of 2003. They are a non-proft organization who works to divert usable building materials from landfills while offering donors all allowable tax incentives for their contributions. The charity's focus is to provide today's youth with a fair chance for a safer and more environmentally friendly future by eliminating usable building materials from landfills.  It provides neighborhoods and individuals, especially the ill, needy, and youth, new and affordable building materials for home projects. While the Asset Recycling warehouse primarily contains windows, doors, paint, plumbing supplies, flooring, and lighting, you can also count on finding interesting deals, arts and crafts items, holiday and party supplies, home decorating items, fabrics, and more. Asset Recycling is open to the public with a focus on serving those most in need of assistance with safe and affordable housing.  Inventory changes often, so frequent visits are encouraged. Asset Recycling is located on Holt Road with entrance and parking in the very back of the building. Stop in when you're in search of building supplies and have some time.

There is NO return or exchange policy, even if it's defective. There was a competitor supply store right around the corner from my house, but they were quoting twice the cost of the switch ($14.25 at central supply). So I drove 30 min to the east side (I live on the west side of Indy) because they had been friendly on the phone and it was half price compared to the other store near me. Once I arrived, I quickly found the parts counter and was somewhat unprepared to order as I was unsure what I needed. I had snapped several photos of my pressure switch/tank to help me. That's when one of the regular plumbers (who was ordering parts also) looked at my pics and totally helped me order all that I needed to do the job. While we waited for our orders to get picked from the warehouse, I continued to learn more about pressure switches from the nice plumber who had ordered my parts for me. The staff and patrons were friendly, and very helpful. I was able to also purchase the wires I needed as well as a new pressure gauge because they have both plumbing and electrical supplies. Total bill : $27.38. Competition : $32.50 for just the pressure switch. I will definitely come back for my next plumbing/electrical needs. Thanks, everyone, for your help - it was a success made easy because of you.

Luv this place, they are actually really helpful. Especially when you come in needing such things…read moreas doohickeys and thingamabobs. Very skilled at charades and guessing what you might be trying to say. And if they can't guess it, they get more players (store emploees) involved, until the mystery is solved and the proper tool or gadget guessed and found for you. I have always heeded their advice and they have not steered me wrong yet. So much better than those huge stores where you have to beg folks to help you and run around finding them, which can take a few miles. In this ACE store, you won't make it to the first aisle without someone greeting you and asking if you need help finding something. Kudos to this mom & pop store.

Then they sold me a fingered oven glove which was just what I needed for my small hand. I have literally been looking for months for this thing. So then I asked them if they also had cotton candy and a pony and that's when I finally struck out. A real true-blue old hardware place like I like them. It's basically the Tardis inside. Looks like a standard Ace - but don't be fooled. Also, everyone is helpful and nice. A huge bonus. This is a bit of a drive for me but so worth it.

My Husband & I bought a new $2,000 Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower from the West 10th Street Lowe's…read morethis month and, while we absolutely LOVE our Mower, their Customer Service was VERY disappointing! The BEST things about this Store is that they are a large enough retailer to carry this brand at reasonable prices; their website is really easy to navigate; and, their local Delivery Representative, Charles, was a TRUE professional! Charles, unlike the rest of the Associates I spoke with, was polite, professional, on time, empathetic and, most importantly, showed INTEGRITY by personally calling back the following day to help correct the "wrong" made by the Store's delivery schedule and the condition of our Mower. You see... The 1st problem occurred when I ordered our Mower online. The site offered me the option for the time of delivery, for which I chose 12n-4p. In response, my Husband & I both took time off to be available specifically during that period. I even called that morning to confirm our delivery, for which a Lady assured me that our Mower had just been loaded & would be here as promised. At a quarter to 4p, I called back to check on the status of our delivery. I was kept on-hold for such a long period of time that I hung up & called back twice. By the time I finally reached someone, a Man answered & said that our Mower had just been loaded & was out for delivery... just like the Lady had claimed earlier that morning! I explained that my Husband & I had already cleared our scheduled from 12n-4p waiting for our Mower, and it was almost 5p then. That's when the Man explained that the delivery schedule was actually 8a-8p, not the 12n-4p option that was offered to us online. I was livid! He assured me that, since we were just 2 Exits from the Store, the Driver should be there in less than 20 minutes. He even offered to call the Driver while we stayed on the line. As luck would have it, we were disconnected as he tried to put me on-hold & the phone continued ringing, with no answer, the 2 times I tried calling back! (Btw, he had our information right in front of him & he could have called me back; but, he never did!) Now we come to the 2nd problem which occurred when our Mower was finally delivered at 7p!!! When the Driver (Charles) unloaded the Mower, my Husband noticed that the key was already in the ignition & that the ignition was in the "On" position. He expressed concerned & soon realized that the Mower was loaded with a COMPLETELY DEAD BATTERY!! With everything that we had already gone through, my Husband was pretty upset. But, Charles was so understanding, apologetic & such a WONDERFUL ambassador for the Company that my Husband agreed to accept the Mower on the condition that he'd use our own charger for the battery. And, if that didn't work, Lowe's would have to make it right the next day. Charles agreed. I called the Store to tell them what happened & all the Lady I spoke with said was, "Oh, I'm sorry." Thank GOD the 10th Street Store has at least ONE Associate (Charles) who knows what TRUE Customer Service is all about! He even called me back the following day to personally check to make sure that our battery took a charge, to apologize for our less-than-pleasant experience & to assure us that he would have personally brought us a new battery, if necessary... How refreshing!!

Not a good experience. I wanted to purchase two bathroom vanities and arrange for installation…read more According to the Lowe's website this was the only location in the area that had the vanities that I wanted in stock. I couldn't find an associate in or near the Bathrooms department Finally I saw an employee and she said, "Whatcha need?" Apparently she didn't work in this department so I kept searching for an associate. The second employee that I found told me the name of the associate that worked in this department and said he would be back soon. When this third associate returned I told him that I wanted to arrange for installation for two bathroom vanities. He told me that would be arranged through the appliance department. He told an appliance associate that I needed to set up installation for vanities. The appliance associate said he didn't know how to do that, so the Bath associate explained how to do it. Finally after the Bath associate walked away the Appliance associate ended up telling me that they didn't offer installation for bathroom vanities. I pointed out that there was a sign in the vanity saying "Installation Available." He said it wasn't allowing him to set it up so it wasn't available. A wasted hour and after speaking with four different associates I couldn't get what I needed. The next time I'll go to Home Depot where they have great, knowledgeable associates.
