    The one I ordered.

I ordered carpet from Lowe's and they sent the wrong one but I went ahead with it. Then I tried to get the one I ordered but customer relations wouldn't do it because I told them to go ahead and install it. Lane from customer relations checked into it and did tell me that the one I had installed is the one I ordered but it is not and my sister was with me. The gal that rang it up rang it up wrong. Anyway he did say that I do deserve a compensation. He called me and said they would send me 250 dollars after I sign the paperwork thru email. I'm not going to sign. This is the Lowe's on Beachway Dr. Indianapolis.

As you can see from my photos I needed to strip two layers of paint from my wood bookshelf, so off to Lowes I went to purchase supplies. Since I had never stripped paint before I spoke with a paint department associate to get a recommendation on the best paint stripper to use. CitriStrip Gel was recommended due to the size of the job. She also recommended I buy two finishing pads to remove any small bits left after scraping the paint off my project and a cheap throwaway brush. We discussed the fact that I had gloves and a scraper. While standing there with her I read the application instructions and they sounded simple enough...paint the gel onto the bookcase and it would strip up to 7 layers of paint in as little as 30 minutes and keeps working up to 24 hours after application. My first test was after a couple of hours and some areas had bubbled up but in other areas the paint was still firmly adhered to the surface...24 hours go by and no change! So I decided that I must not have put the gel on thickly enough so I reapply using the entire quart of stripper. Check again in 24 hours...no change!! Then I had to wait 2 days for the gel to completely dry before I tried stripping it again. You can see what I'm left with...this "stripper" actually stripped very little paint off of this bookcase. Silly of me to assume that a home improvement store would actually stock an effective product!!! Apparently my first step should have been doing some online research to get some recommendations from the professionals. So, after checking several online sites I find that CitriStrip is not one of the top 5 most recommended paint strippers (and I totally see why - yes it smells great but I wasn't particularly looking for a pleasant smelling product). And much to my surprise when checking Lowes (and Menards) to find pricing on one of the top 5 strippers, I discovered that neither store sells any of them. Guess I will try to find a local mom and pop hardware store that carries a decent paint stripper or I will be sanding all of this remaining paint off by hand (which I've already done to the outside of the bookcase). So frustrating to spend $30+ dollars on supplies to make this job easy and then be forced to spend literally hours scraping and sanding 1/2 of this bookcase. I'm wondering why Lowes (or Menards for that matter) doesn't stock a paint stripper that is on the top 5 recommended list. My not unrealistic goal for this project was apply the stripper outside, leave it for an hour or two, easily scrap the paint off and finish the project with a bit of final sanding. The upside to this review is that I have never had a negative customer service issue at this particular Lowes and my 2 star rating is based on the interaction with the associate who recommended the best product Lowes had available, made sure I had the supplies I needed and was very pleasant. Not surprisingly, she wasn't able to answer specific questions about the product but the directions were simple enough that a 5th grader could have followed them.

I dont expect much from this lowes it's not like any other Lowes I walk past 2 sales associates and said good morning they both looked at me as If I was speaking a different language as I walk down the aisles I decided to get a key made I walk up to the counter and said good morning again and the very old man said can I help you I started to say yeah u van say good morning back but I didn't . For anyone whose reading this review who has never read any of my reviews needs to know I am very big on customer service it doesn't matter where you work or what you do or where your at people should always have good customer service.

Don't bother ordering supplies from here . Unless you want to waste your time waiting for them to get it ready. I was told the day of 5/3/2021 that the order would be ready on 5/4 at 12 pm upon arrival to pick it up they said it wasn't ready and that it would be ready at 6 pm 5/4/21. I called and told them I'll pick it up tomorrow as soon as doors open and they said it'll be fine . I show up at 6 am on 5/5/21 and the order is not ready and said it'll be ready in an hour after being told it would be ready 5/4/21 at 6 pm. Wasted time and money. Was truly upset while customer service was making it feel like it was the customers fault . Did not feel welcomed and will not make big project purchases here anymore . I'm a Hispanic customer and the cashier kept saying "Migo" to me. That's was unprofessional and offensive to me at all cost

    This is cool.

I think Fusek's True Value is the only other hardware store in the downtown area, so for those who reside near here (especially those who own homes with lawns downtown), there is now another option. It is located across the parking lot from the new Bodhi Cocktail Bar & Thai Bistro in the site formerly home to Indy Reads (which moved to Fountain Square.) Before you read any further, know that because I don't live downtown, I didn't engage in any transactions while here, so I hope others will soon add more detailed shopping information than I can. The shop is especially prepared for home owners in the area. Lots of items for outdoor work as well a the standard aisles of small items do it yourselfers need and can't find elsewhere. Note that when we visited, a "house" dog was lounging near the counter. So, I would advise not bringing your pets with you to shop since I don't know how they might interact. The dog did not move during our entire visit. Seemed well mannered. One of the benefits of shopping here is that they are open 24 hours a day. My wife asked and yes, they do get shoppers throughout the night! I am glad I'm too old for those all night projects now, but realize that when you get started on something, you sometimes just want to get it done and having a place to get the supplies you need is a huge benefit! The one negative that keeps this from an even higher rating is that the parking is very limited and if you wanted to bring a big truck for hauling larger or multiple purchases, you may have some difficulty in the small parking/loading area compared to most hardware stores I have frequented. But, the store did have a lot of needs covered. I think they are supposed to be a paint supply specialty shop as well. But I didn't realize that until I got home and read some info on their website. If you are downtown for some excellent food, stop by and check Trust out. It might save you a trip to one of those big box stores later. Review #3905

He seemed agitated and cut me off mid-sentence and walked away from the register. He also said he would 'check with someone.' The cashier and I were both confused by this. She asked him to confirm whether or not he was talking to someone else about it while he was standing 10 feet away noticeably not busy. He scoffed and replied 'I'm not doing that today' while rolling his eyes. The cashier looked uncomfortable and apologized to me. The manager didn't care if I made a purchase or not. I'm not sure if he was in a bad mood before I came in, but he was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional in a situation that could have easily been treated with more grace. The other Sullivan locations nearby have been amazing with their customer service. I recommend shopping with any one of them instead.

Located in practically the perfect…read morespot on the corner of 62nd and Keystone with a Broad Ripple Avenue address, Hedlund's Hardware looks and feels like a blast from the past precisely because it really is a blast from the past. Established in 1935 by Claude and Mary Hedlund, Hedlund's was at first a General Store but now limits itself to a somewhat broad definition of hardware and a personality that practically defies explanation. I avoided Hedlund's for quite some time. I'm a wheelchair user and Hedlund's Hardware is one of those places that practically screams out "You're going to break me!" as I delicately wheel myself through the aisles (or the ones that are passable, a fact that will change from visit to visit). The truth is that some people will hate a place like Hedlund's. It's a chaotic, eclectic, and seemingly disorganized (It's actually fairly well organized) establishment in a world where we want big box convenience and 19-year-old Tommy pretending he knows everything there is to know about plumbing or house repairs. HINT: Tommy doesn't know. At Hedlund's, though, they do actually know stuff. Hedlund's is not a big box store. In fact, it's not even a particularly big store though it's much bigger than it appears from the outside. Hedlund's is not a Sullivan's Hardware, a nearby behemoth that is also local but is much bigger and more contemporary. Hedlund's is, at least in my view, a bit of a cultural icon. It remains in the Hedlund family and is locally owned. I have no idea if this is the original building, but it's definitely symbolic of the history of the area. As I noted, if you need true accessibility it's not likely to be found here. You can get in the doors (most days) as they're level to the ground. That said, Hedlund's packs stuff in here and aisle passage is hit-and-miss. However, folks are friendly, helpful, and actually knowledgeable here and it's worth it to at least visit the place even if you don't completely fall in love with it. It's a unique space, a unique hardware store, and sort of an outcast right between Lowe's and Sullivan's on Keystone yet it continues to be a beacon of sorts and I'm sure glad it's here.
