The sweetest little boo bar restaurant.

Love this place. It's so very sweet. Food is excellent. Wine and drink offerings are stellar. Please support your local businesses. I love Allium!

The wifey and I wandered in one morning and boy are we pleasantly surprised. The flavors, the drinks, and the atmosphere. This is the place to be. I am making it our spot and you should too.

The service and food quality were absolutely impeccable! This restaurant takes pride in their food preparation, taste and quality!! I have to say my dinner was the best Rotisserie chicken I've ever had (great seasoning, moist and just delicious) Can't wait to go back!!!! PS: the owner modified my dinner to my request. Compliments to the chef!

This is the kind of place I almost don't want to write a review for because it is so good I want to keep it for myself! I've been lucky enough to have dinner at Allium twice, and both times it has been exceptional, from the service to the food and everything in between (including a wallpaper featuring alliums, which was just such a fun touch). The menu changes regularly, but some of the dishes we enjoyed were: - Allium dip: This is an absolute must order every single time. It's like an elevated sour cream and onion dip, and the house made potato chips are incredible. - Napa salad: This had the perfect balance of flavors and textures- creamy, crunchy, fresh, acidic, rich. The shaved Manchego on top was a really nice touch, I don't think I've ever had Manchego shaved before. - Parisian gnocchi: This was INCREDIBLE. I requested the mushrooms on the side because I am not usually a fan, and found myself wishing there were more! They were smoked and crispy and honestly unlike any mushrooms I've ever tasted. - Chocolate cake with chestnut mousse and winter citrus: This seemed like such an unusual combination of flavors, but again, it worked perfectly. The cake was delicious and the freshness from the citrus was really nice. - Don't forget the to-go case on your way out! The baked apple overnight oats were exceptional. I have my eye on the soups next time. There is also a great wine list that is very reasonably priced with some real gems, I also highly recommend trying one of their espresso drinks- their cappuccino was probably the best I've ever had. The kitchen is all-women, which was something I really appreciated that is so rare in the restaurant industry! The restaurant itself is pretty small (I'd say it seats about 12-15), but felt appropriately spaced out both times we went. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a gem Allium is. Already can't wait to go back!

    What an incredible lunch!

Ive been there for dinner time as well, it's lively, loud in a good way, and immediately feels like somewhere you could stay for hours. I ordered the miso ramen, and it was honestly one of the most satisfying bowls of ramen I've had in Connecticut. The broth was the star of the dish its deep, rich, savory, and layered with that perfect balance of umami and subtle sweetness from the miso and a bit nitty form the sesame seeds. The noodles had the perfect texture: chewy, springy, and able to hold onto the broth beautifully. Nothing was overcooked or mushy . What impressed me most was how balanced the ramen was. Some ramen spots go overboard with salt or spice, but this bowl felt refined. Rich but not greasy. Flavorful but not overpowering. You could tell there was actual technique behind it. The portion size was also generous enough to leave completely full without feeling uncomfortable afterward. The service matched the food perfectly and so freaking sweet. The decor is a lovely authentic izakaya with the wood paneling and everything. It's a beautiful homage to Japanese culture. Ok now menu. Lunch there is great but recommend going for the dinner menu over anything to have more options! The addictive cabbage is just as it says, addicting. It's acidic, savory and has the perfect crunch to it. The crab Rangoons are sooo good. They give you plenty of sauce and you can tell it's the good crab. The cold sesame noodles are perfect! A little bit of heat, a bunch of flavor. I'm drooling just thinking about it! The chili dumplings were good but a little too spicy for me! We also really enjoyed the kimchi carbonara and personally, I'm a sucker for udon noodles! And now the star of the show for me and something I've ordered three times now! The crab fried rice! The crab is so tender and buttery, like it actually melts in your mouth. And the pork belly chunks in it, also tender and delicious. I like dream of this dish every week! And the great thing is you can order the half size during dinner so you can try other things too! This spot is in my top 5 for 2026 so far! Please go try them asap!

That spontaneous decision led us to an absolute treasure. They offered the perfect Valentine's Day menu--easy to navigate and beautifully suited for the occasion without being overwhelming. For my appetizer, I had the crab cake, which was incredibly well-seasoned and served on a fresh bed of spinach. It was light yet flavorful, the perfect way to start the evening. For my main course, I ordered the grilled swordfish. It was fresh, tender, and full of flavor. What truly surprised me was the sauce paired with pineapple--it sounded interesting, but it worked perfectly. The balance of savory and sweet was spot on, and every bite complemented the next. To end the night, I had the passion fruit tart for dessert. It was the ideal sweet finish to such a fulfilling meal--bright, refreshing, and not overly heavy. The drinks were also delicious and thoughtfully crafted. The service matched the quality of the food. The owner and servers were attentive, welcoming, and genuinely involved in ensuring we had a great experience. Since we had our children with us, we especially appreciated how accommodating and kind they were. The atmosphere was warm, comfortable, and intimate--perfect for Valentine's Day but also family-friendly. We will definitely be back!

Drinks: cocktail was well crafted, although was surprised to see wine by the glass only!? Apps: Fluke crudo - tender, with so many unusual flavorings. Just spectacular. Maitake Mushrooms - earthy, smokey and full of flavor. King Salmon - again, very unique preparation, Fish was like butter; cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. Only critique - could have used something more to round out the meal... wild rice maybe? was a bit small. Burger - top 5 ever! Not over packed. Perfect medium rare, also bursting with flavor. Bacon jam and siracha and other seasonings on a tender brioche (?) bun. In contrast to the salmon, it was a really big burger, but I couldn't stop eating it, and super crispy fries made it complete. Peanut butter sundae - warm peanut butter foam with chocolate ice cream & chocolate fudge. Balanced and delicious. Ambiance was average -- small, with narrow paths; no tablecloths and hard chairs. A bit surprising, had expected a bit more upscaled given the menu, but the food was amazing, and our server was very knowledgable and helpful. We will be back!

My ex-wife, friend, and daughter's mother had pre-arranged the event, but they held up their end of the deal. The location really has the a wonderful ambiance (at least for our purposes). We had an even heartier laugh when I told them I brought it. Let me say this about the ambiance. It's just a fun place to be. The sights and the sounds are marvelous. The wonderfully potent and ever present odor of fish reminds me of the Fulton fish market on a humid, blazing hot summer day in New York City. To the people of the Boathouse, god bless.
