    When I moved into my neighborhood years ago, I went the easy way with picking my insurance agent,…read moreusing the same State Farm agent that the community was using for its master policy. In retrospect, that was a really bad decision as the agent pretty much took all of our business for granted, between being pretty much unresponsive when it came to customer service, never doing policy reviews, and ever-increasing premiums despite never having filed a claim. The last straw was when I reached out to my agent to help solve a problem about some of my policies not displaying online several times, finally receiving a response telling me to get in touch with State Farm's IT department directly. Excuse me? What's an agent for if they don't work on behalf of their customers? It was obviously time to leave State Farm and shop around for a new agent. Several of my friends have used Erie for years and spoke very highly of them, so I hopped onto the Erie web site and found Foresight Insurance quite literally a few blocks away from my house - and this was indeed my lucky day, landing in the hands of Michael Cruz and his team. I made an appointment to meet Michael in person, and he spent well over an hour with me reviewing my old policies, asking me a lot of insightful questions about my home, car, and umbrella liability policies, then going through some options with me. By the end of our meeting, I not only had better coverage that were well-tailored to my individual needs, but my premiums actually went down significantly. The excellent customer service experience didn't end there - not only did the folks at Foresight arrange for canceling my old policies so I wouldn't have to deal with State Farm directly, Michael followed up with me about a week later to bring me up to date on the transfers and to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. When I traded in my old car for my new wheels a few months later, getting the new insurance in place couldn't have been smoother, with Michael's team also making sure that I knew what to do when - including not cancelling my old auto policy before turning in my tags! All of my questions have always been answered very quickly, often within an hour of me sending an e-mail. You can't ask for better responsiveness than that! I'm just coming up on my first year with Foresight, and once again, Michael has shown how focused his firm is on customer service, doing a policy review with me and making some minor changes to my policies to bring things up to date. You really couldn't ask for better people to work with - they're very good at what they do, they put their customers first, and they're incredibly nice people as well. So, the next time your renewal paperwork arrives in the mail, give Michael and his team a call and get an 'insurance check-up'. You'll be very, very glad you did!

    This review is not for State Farm. I love State Farm. This is for the odd call I received from…read morethis agent's office. We have been with State Farm for years. Someone called asking for my husband, making a mistake with his name and calling my cell. The agent said he wanted to help "poor people" save money. I asked why he didn't already know we had State Farm. He said that, "Like State Farm is like a franchise so there isn't a universal list." I warned my agent's office, who looked up the number of the person who called me. It was a legitimate State Farm office. If this person has people making calls on his behalf, he may want to retrain them. I called the "would be helper of the poor" (his words) to find out how he got my number. He said he would put my number on the "do not call" list with headquarters (I thought there wasn't a universal list). I actually want State Farm to call me...but from agents I know. Why a Maryland agent would solicit a DC resident over the phone is a puzzle. The weather is too chilly for any shade today. UPDATE: Over a year after I wrote this review, a Yelper was offended and sent a "compliment" to let me know. Two Yelpers can have a disappointing or good experience and both be right. I "get" what cold calls are about. My number isn't public. When a State Farm rep calls the customer of a colleague, that implies he doesn't care about team work. If any anyone else is offended that I was creeped out by this call, please feel free to let me know. The purpose of Yelp is to share feedback.     I got AAA roadside Assistance and I use the service for the first time this weekend. My car had to…read morebe towed from my residence to the shop of my choice. I confirm the address with the tow person and expected it to be there and being worked on. I had called around and found a place that could fix the car on the same day and this was a Saturday. I called the shop few hours later to see if it was ready. They informed me that the car was not there. It was almost closing time for them. I was assuming it would be done by then. They towed the car to a ADDRESS AND LOCATION. They took the car to a AAA workshop that was a mile away from where i wanted it to be. I did not get my car back till Sunday morning because the keys were in the shop and they could not tow it back to where I needed it till Monday when the shop opened and I could get my keys out of there, so my whole weekend was done I had no car I had to pay so much extra to get it fixed. I chose the shop because it was way cheaper and would have been done the same day. So, I had to get it fixed at the AAA shop where I paid more I took Ubers everywhere I had to miss work on Monday but I asked them to give me a rental at least so I did not miss a day of work. They said they could not give me a rental right away, but I could get the rental and then ask to be refunded for all the expenses. I had to rent a car for Monday and had my car fixed on Monday and then had to go pick it up. It was a nightmare and this was the first time I used AAA so my experience with AAA has been so bad I don't think I will ever recommend or have it myself ever again

    We have been members of AAA for past 30 years. They have a great towing service. I have used AAA…read morewhenever my car needed to be towed to a repair shop or the car battery had to be replaced. Their IPhone app works well and I have is used it to contact service center for a tow truck. The AAA membership is renewed annually. We also use AAA to obtain map and travel guides, which are free to members.
