This past November my car was parked and I arrived to see it damaged. Went through the steps of getting car towed, filing a claim, getting rental etc. Following week "Angel Martinez" calls me to inform me he's been assigned as adjuster for my claim and on his way to check my car. 20 - 30 minutes later calls to say "total loss". I had my doubts but I'm no expert. He then says I must, at my expense, tow my car out of body shop! "Where do you suggest I tow it to?" I asked. His response was that it didn't matter to him. Just get it out. Not having a safe place to put my car, where it won't get towed or accumulate parking tickets, I stated I couldn't. He said something about any storage fees for my car would be at my expense! Then says my claim is being investigated. Obviously not believing the facts! No problem, no other damage to ANY person, vehicle or property. Therefore, no OTHER claims filed!! 2 MONTHS later, after having to pay over $600 for my own rental because although the delay was on THEIR part, he WOULDN'T extend my rental! Keep in mind, I'm still making both my car and insurance payments. I was forced to borrow money to get some sort of transportation to get to and from work, because I CAN'T LOSE MY JOB! Now, after NOT answering nor returning my calls or texts since mid December, he finally calls to say my car is now repairable!!?? WTH? I'm guessing he wasn't content with just ruining my holidays and jeopardizing my livelihood, he now wants to mess with my head! Now I get a "Update on my policy" email; stating that GEICO can no longer insure me due to "malicious intent to defraud"!! WTF?? As if I wanted to go through all this unnecessary BS and expenses! Again, there are NO OTHER CLAIMS involving or related to my claim. No property, vehicle or person. This is their way of trying to cover for their adjuster who lacks proper training and professionalism. (In my opinion.) I must include that it very unfortunate that this guy has been the most difficult and unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. By no means does he reflect the many very helpful, courteous and professional individuals I've dealt with while my years with GEICO. It's time for me to find new insurance, not a problem . Oh by the way, several friends and family members of mine, including my 4 kids and their spouses, are equally upset with this outcome and will also be looking for new insurance.
