I've had 3 transmissions rebuilt on my cars over the years, and I just want to say that I highly recommend Allstate Transmission and Auto Repair for transmission service or repair! After my first rebuilt transmission in my 82 Ford Bronco, that cost me more then twice the price I was quoted, I make sure I get a firm price for my auto repairs. Even so, on my last 2 transmission repairs, a 1994 Explorer and a 2000 Lexus, I was forced into spending almost 3,000 dollars for quotes on repairs that I was told would cost about 2,000 dollars! So when the transmission started slipping on my daughters 2002 Honda Accord, I told her to sell it and I'd help her get another car. But she loves her car and started looking on line for a place to get it fixed, she found Allstate transmission and they gave her a good price if they had to rebuild the transmission, but that it could be higher if there were any bad electronic parts. I knew where this was going, so I called them and spoke with Mitch, the transmission service advisor for Allstate. I told him about the problems I'd had with transmission shops in the past. He made me feel comfortable, giving me a guaranteed worst case quote if her transmission had to be rebuilt, even if it needed other parts then just the standard rebuild items. They towed her Honda in and got it checked out. No charge for the diag was very nice, but I was still cautious. They found the transmission had a bad solenoid, but said it could still need to be rebuilt, but, no matter what, the solenoid would have to be replaced. They installed the new solenoid, and the transmission started shifting again, but was still slipping in 2nd gear and it would have to be rebuilt. Again, Mitch gave us a worst case price to rebuild the transmission in her car, not just a generic one from off the shelf. He said it would take about 3 days to do, but there was a bunch of cars ahead of it, and it would take 5 days total, at least they were honest, this was another problem I had had with the transmission shops in the past, the transmission repairs had taken much longer then I was told. I had them get started on the rebuild, and he didn't even charge us for the labor to install the solenoid. They even got her a rental car from Enterprise rental car for only 10 dollars a day. I was starting to feel even better about their honesty, but then I got a message to call them, I knew what was coming. Mitch told me that the transmission case did need to be repaired, this was part of what he had talked to us about, that when rebuilding the automatic transmissions on the 2000 Honda Accords, most either need to have the transmission case repaired or they need to have it replaced, and that our transmission's case would probably need the same. The cost of the rebuild with the case repair was still well under their worst case quote, and the case would get back from the machine shop in time to finish the job on time. When Mitch called again I thought the hard sell for a higher price repair was coming, but I was pleasantly surprised to hear that the car was finished and ready for pick-up, within the time & price we were quoted, amazing! Mitch and Nicole took great care of us throughout the process, they were very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to us. My confidence in finding a good transmission shop in Phoenix has been restored with Allstate Transmission and Auto Repair, I give them a Five Star Rating!!!!! read more

I had just moved to the Phoenix area and noticed one morning that my car was leaking transmission fluid. It was a small amount and I had just had some repairs done before the move, so I drove the car around a bit more to see if it leaked anymore. Nothing else was leaking but then the check engine light came on. Being new to the area I looked around on Yelp and figured I'd give this place a shot. I took my car in and talked with Jeff about the issue. He called back a few hours later, explaining they didn't yet see a leak, so they wanted to hold it overnight to see if that triggered anything. They ran a diagnostic with the check engine light and he shared that my catalytic converter was not operating at peak efficiency. He was very honest in telling me that it could just be a fluke thing, and not actually a problem with the converter. The next day he called back saying they still couldn't find anything leaking, and explained what he felt caused the issue that made sense (car getting air bubbles and 'burping' fluid). He cleared the check engine code and said that if the light came back on within a week, I may want to bring it back to them get the catalytic converter fixed. When I went to pick up the car, I was shocked that there was no charge for keeping my car for a little over a day, trying to determine what was wrong. At that point, I knew I had found a new shop for my car if I have future issues. Unfortunately, the check engine light did come back on and I ended up taking my car back to Allstate to get the catalytic converter replaced. They did a second diagnostic for the issue, but waived the fee since I did opt to get the work done there, and had the work done by the end of day, despite a personal crisis happening with the family that owned the shop. Although I understand this is a standard practice for many mechanics, I often have had to ask at other places in the past to actually get the diagnostic fees waived. Even though taking my car to this shop is about a 40 minute drive from my house and there are other shops closer, I can't imagine taking my car to any other mechanic. The only thing I could see being a concern is that they do not operate on the weekends. read more

I called Allstate Transmission to talk to them about an issue I was having with the transmission on my 72 Monte Carlo, I spoke to Nicole and she was very nice and knowledgeable about what I was concerned with on my vehicle. She set up an appointment for me to get it looked at and was honest about how busy they were and when they could look at my vehicle. When I took my vehicle in to get it looked at, Mitch was very nice and listened to my concerns and then expalined in detail what they would be doing to diagnose the issues I was having. He assured me he would treat my vehicle as if it was his own, which made me feel very comforatable leaving my vehicle with him. Mitch called me and expalined in detail what they found on my transmission and stood by the original price I was quoted even though they found a couple of unforseen problems that had to be repaired to resolve the issue I was having with my transmission, he also let me know how long it would take to do the repair. Mitch called me when the repair was complete and it was completed two days earlier than originally estimated, which was a great surprise. I picked up my Monte Carlo and I am extremely happy with the work they did and with the price which was very reasonable for the repair that was done. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Allstate Transmission for all your transmission needs. Mitch and Nicole are very knowledgeable, honest, professional and have amazing customer service skills, they make you feel like you have known them for years and they truly do care about their customers and take pride in the amazing work they do. This is the only place I will ever take my vehicles for transmission work! Mitch and all his staff are truly AWESOME! I use my truck for a lot of serious hauling and towing and need to know it will do the job. I took my truck in to have the transmission serviced and basically told Mitch I expected to need a new transmission. After they serviced it and test drove it, Mitch called me and told me it was ready to pick up. When I got there to get it he took the time to explain what they saw while servicing it and explained his thoughts about it. What was so impressive to me was, like I mentioned, I pretty much told him to tell me I needed a new tranny. Not only did he not do that but he explained in great detail how they felt about the condition of it and what to expect. I have since decided to replace my transmission so I don't end up stranded somewhere having to use some shop for repairs that I have no knowledge of or control over. When I called Mitch and explained my thoughts he understood and gave me his feedback on what various options they could give me. He understood that I use my truck primarily to tow and haul a lot of heavy stuff. He priced out doing a heavy-duty re-build that would make my tranny as bullet proof as possible. When my trans broke down i have shopped around for a mechanic shop to get it fixed. I visited about 3 shops that specialize in VWs and they all wanted to replace my tranny instead of figuring out what the problems is and fixing it. A friend of mine at work told me about Allstate transmission. I went to them and in about half an hour they figured out that they needed to rebuild my transmission. over a year and 12k miles later, my was still going strong. recently i have noticed that it started hard shifting in the 2nd and 3rd gear., so i took it back to them to check it out. They diagnosed the car and figured out what the problem is. Unfortunately it was not something they could fix; however they took the time to shop around for the parts to give me an idea about how much it would cost and referred me to someone who can help. My car has been having this problem "that i chose to ignore" where the rotter was rubbing against the break plate. I have spent $150 at another shop to get fixed but they did not. I never even told Allstate about that issue but when i drove the from they parking lot i noticed that it was not making any noises. When I got to work i noticed that the issue was fixed. HANDS DOWN THE BEST SHOP YOU WILL EVER DEAL WITH. One last thing, when i visited them, i spoke with Mitch and Nicole, the 2 people at the front desk; let me tell you; they are the nicest and most knowledgeable people you will ever deal with. I'm leaving this review for Allstate Transmission And Auto Repair because the service I got from them was outstanding! They were recommended to me by a co-worker when the transmission in my Altima started having problems. After talking to Nicole on the phone I took my car in to get an estimate. They checked it out and I needed to have the transmission rebuilt. Nicole gave me the price for the rebuilt transmission but told me that the cost for the work could be more depending on what they find once the transmission was taken apart. She explained in detail what was included in a rebuilt transmission and about the parts that could be damaged that aren't included, very helpful information. She gave me a price for the best case and a worst case scenarios. I took the quote and off I went. I tried to get a quote from two other shops; Aamco and Super Discount, but neither of them would put anything in writing. Both shops wanted me to agree to pay to have them take the transmission out of my car and have it taken apart before they could tell me how much it would cost to fix it. Neither would give me a worst case price, very frustrating! I ended up back at Allstate and I had them do the work. The service through the repair was just as with the quote; upfront, no games and very helpful and friendly. The transmission work they did was great and the price was very good. I went looking for a tranny shop before it broke, for a 21 yr. old Dodge ram 2500 4x4, which I had ordered new in 1997,{I know most of the bolts by name} daily driver every day @ 3:00 am. Having been a heavy equipment/fleet mechanic for over 25 yrs, I had every intention of doing the clutch myself, but, medically unable to accomplish this task now, my hope was not high. I read all the reviews ahead of time, Allstate was 2nd on my list of 7 shops to check out. I found Allstate Transmission And Auto Repair after Googling transmission repair shops in Phoenix. What a mess, luckily there are reviews to help find a reputable transmission shop! I was surprised to see how many bad reviews there are for transmission shops in Phoenix. I even searched transmission shops in Peoria, Glendale, etc. I almost considering going to the dealer until I called them. They made me feel more railroaded then anything and the price for a rebuilt transmission was ridiculous, it was more than my car was worth! and it wasn't even a new one, they said the only way to get a new one was to buy a new car - sure. I chose the top five best rated shops, and gave them a call. I felt very comfortable talking to Mitch, He took the time to explain things to me and if you've ever called a transmission shop, you know what I mean. Allstate has been there for me when I've needed them, bottom line. The staff is extremely friendly and they go ABOVE and BEYOND expected customer service. I had them rebuild the transmission on my truck about four months ago. The truck ran great and shifted very firmly after the rebuild. However, I was driving the other day when, out of nowhere, the transmission went out. I work a few hours away from Allstate and the truck is my daily driver. Thus, I needed the truck back as fast as possible. The staff quickly arranged to pull the transmission apart, diagnose the problem, and cover the fix under warranty. Turns out, the second gear drum was stripped, so they replaced it free of charge. They even went WAY out of their way to get my truck done in the time I needed it. I recently had my transmission rebuilt in my 2004 Volvo S80. But due to a manufacturer defect, the new torque converter had a catastrophic failure, which caused the transmission to fail. Although I was passed the one year warranty, Allstate paid for ALL the labor to fix me up, and get me back on the road. Mitch did the research to see if the manufacturer would warranty the torque converter, (considering it had less than 3000 miles on it) to try and save me some money. But, the part manufacturer would not. I would go back to Allstate Transmission and recommend them to anyone.These guys stand by their guarantee and their work, and will go over and above when they need to. The experience was great. It was refreshing to arrive at a place of business where the employees (every single one of them) actually treated the customers as people of value. From the receptionist, to the mechanics, each one of them had the type of attitude needed to keep customers coming back. I was so glad to hear that they provide customers with free diagnostics because we thought we needed a new transmission, but found out it was the clutch that needed to be replaced. That saved us about half the money we were expecting to pay. They gave us a quote and stuck to it. The price was reasonable and there were no hidden fees at the time of pick up. i have been having some transmission problems latley and want to get it fixed befor it gets any worse so i was searching for a transmission shop online and found allstate transmissions. This is a great place to take your car or truck they do great work and do it right the manager mitch was very informative and up front about what was going on, i had some issues with my valve body i needed my car for work so they diagnosed it and i droped it off they next morning they were able to make the repair and i got my car back the same day after i got off work. Our family was stranded about 50 miles north of Phoenix in our RV when our transmission failed to shift.
