Well this was my first time here. I received a gift card for this salon as a gift from a friend. Its a small place but they make good use of the space. The customer service was pretty good and they were nice. My problem was the actual process of getting my nails done. I went for a full set of Acrylic Nails, and my eyebrows. The lady who did my nails was nice however she was very aggressive with my hands and it hurt. She was grinding my nails down a-lot and even cut the side of one of my fingers. I dont have sensitive hands so this was very unusual for me to get hurt. But accidents happen right? The problem is SHE KEPT FILING WHILE I WAS BLEEDING ON THE SAME SPOT I WAS BLEEDING FROM. She didnt even mention it until i pulled my hand away from the sharp stinging pain. With no apology she just laughed it off and kept going. She also kept twisting my wrist and fingers in awkward directions which was painful and when i tried to adjust my hand a little she just pushed it back. At the end my nails and eyebrows turned out good. However i wont ever be going back. If you zoom in on the picture you see the cut with dry blood under the glue. read more

They don't take all the safety precautions that I have seen at other nail salons but the operations appear to be pretty safe. I got a regular mani and gel spa pedi. The pedicure went well and I am happy with the results. However, the manicure was a complete mess. She cut and filed my nails uneven and jagged. The paint job was uneven, blotchy, inconsistent, not fully covering the nail and just an overall mess. It wasn't the same person that did the mani and pedi. I would not come here again. I can get over the terrible paint job but I can't accept how raggedy she cut and filed my natural nails. read more

What the f***! I just left the salon I paid $94 plus tip for a mani pedi for me and a pedicure for my partner. Tomorrow is my birthday and next week is our anniversary. I don't get my nails done often and honestly this is why. I really just wanted to have my nails nice for our upcoming celebrations and now I'm just left really upset I paid all that money for this. I just got in the car and took the paper towels out from between my toes to see this I understand when it's really busy but I pay the same as everyone else I shouldn't be rushed out with a half done job. After today I will not be back to this nail salon! I normally only get my nails done but, today I decided I would get a pedicure. Rosie did an okay job on my nails with SNS. The person that did my pedicure was horrible, as you can see by the pictures and how much she took off of my cuticles around both of my big toes. She never acknowledged that she cut them too much and that they were bleeding. The even worse part about this is that I paid $113 and I left with two sore toes. The lady with damaged hair and toes curled over her heels bc she doesn't know how to wear them is rude. She gave me so much attitude. She would make me pay before finishing my nails and recently she gave me attitude when i went to get a full set and pedicure. She told me to wait till the next person is available which is fine. I waited a while and i asked how long it will take she said "till she's done but ur getting the pedicure first" so i said "I actually just want the full set I don't have enough time to get the pedicure as well" bc i had guests coming over for iftar (when we break our fast for Ramadan) and she decided to give me attitude and say "well I don't have enough time to give u a full set". Disrespectful for no reason. I just went across the street and they were able to give me a full set and pedicure in no time and were so respectful. read more

I have been going to this salon for years and never had any issues but this year as I began coming in on a more regular basis I began to experience issues with my nails. in September my nails became very sensitive and began to become very painful. I had been asked by one of the ladies if I had eczema and i told her no I've never had it. Fast forward to now (November) and my nails are finally becoming normal again. I wasn't going to write a review about my experience but I have learned that the ladies in the salon have been trying to put my experience off on me and my "eczema" which is untrue. The last two months I have really gone through so much pain and embarrassment with how my hands look and it is due to the work of this salon. I have been to two different doctors and I have seen a dermatologist and my nails are damaged and hopefully my cuticles will grow back - my dermatologist confirmed I do not have eczema too ;) It has been concerning prior to this experience how the techs will take things from each other's carts and the tools are never opened as if brand new for each client so you know they are clean. I will not be coming back especially after the lack of ownership to what was done to me and what I have been through. read more

My sorority big and I come here time to time. I like them more than NY nails at the mall due to their nails staying on a bit longer and looking more clean. The staff here is super friendly and offers complimentary drinks! I got regular nail polish and a fill-in and it didn't cost me a lot. They also do student discounts for KSU students! read more

To finally have consistency when it comes to getting my nails done is a wonderful feeling lol. I have went to so many nail places and have been let down each time but every time I come to allure I get the same awesome results. KSU students are offered a discount with an ID. They offer you something to drink when you get your nails done,which is very nice of them. There are not many regular fingernail polishes but they have plenty of gel and SNS powders to choose from. Walked in for a gel pedicure without an appt at lunchtime. Was greeted right away and showed the color choices they seated me in a chair right away, had to wait 10 minutes for someone but the chairs were super comfortable. The pedicure itself was exactly what I needed, the massage was great, attention to detail and really went to work on my calluses. The color I chose didn't look that great on, so she found a couple other choices and helped me choose the right color. They had a variety of beverages, I chose a diet coke. I will definitely be returning, it was the exact pick me up that I needed! Next time I will make an appointment but even without one, I was still in and out in a good amount of time. read more

I could not make up my mind about doing gel or a dip after my pedicure and when I told the technician that I wanted to do the dip she says she did not have time . I scheduled an appointment and was still almost there for 1 and a half, close to 2 hours. There was only 3 other customers in there. I got a classic pedicure and the young lady that did my nails cut my foot with the pedi scrub and it started to bleed and put my cut foot in hot water and dug into my toenails so much that a day later and it feels like I have an ingrown nail. After sitting at the drying station for 15-20 minutes I check my toes to see if they were dry and the second I touch it, it completely smears so I went back to have them re done. She then puts my sandals on that has straps right above my toes and paints my nails and tells me to be careful because of the strap. I had on the salon flip flops on and she took them off to put my sandals on and starts to redo my nails. Some are still messed up but I had a 2:30 appointment and I left the store at 4. read more

Well I took my granddaughters to get nails-pedicure-lashes the lady charged did not do a good job nail polish on sides of nails. Then she dropped glue in my granddaughters eye causing her harm to her eye. tuen on top of that wanted to offer a 10 discount to forg the incident when asked for insurance would not give me information acted like she wasn't the owner then when I stated I would be seeing her in court she yelled I speak english to you I will get me an attorney first before goving information. the woman who serviced me was so bad that I had to go somewhere else. She doesn't know how to do a basic pink and white, let alone swapping the white for a different color. And worse yet she had acrylic all over my finger, not on my finger nail, but my finger. I wish I had gotten her name to put it in this review just so people could her service. Me and my mother couldn't let her finish since not only could she not do what she was trying to do, she was using all the wrong techniques and a scraping tool which to be honest hurt my already sensitive nail a lot. But that wasn't even the worst part. You see I asked for a pink And white acrylic, substituting the white for black since Halloween was coming up. Simple and I assume reasonable. Not only did she not form an arch on my finger and read it just look terrible in general, not simple and classy like I wanted, but she blamed it on me. Saying this is what I wanted. I wanted her to get black acrylic all over my fingers, not have a proper arch with this fake French manicure like nail, and Wanted my fingers to basically be covered in acrylic to the point where I couldn't feel. The salon was lucky enough to have us pay for this half assed service. Especially since as I was trying to leave while my mother was paying for the service already done, they tried to grab at me to sit me down to fix it. I was very polite but the grabbing of my hands to try and look and fix and what not felt very uncomfortable. You should not grab at a person, especially when they are distressed about what you've done to their hands. And this is just a nitpick, but it is worth mentioning, since the service is already kind of garbage. The salon is nasty, it doesn't look like it's regularly cleaned, there are stains all over the counters of nail polish and acrylic, The person who did my nails even tested a nail product on the Dirty towel my hand was on. I didn't get a pedicure but I imagine those bowls are the only thing kept clean. We had to go to another salon to be able to have my nails properly done. I went to Ken's nails and Ken from that business actually did a wonderful job especially since I was so scared to get black again that I got normal pink and white. He was so kind and understanding, and he also was very gentle with my fingers after all that she put me through. I don't recommend going to allure unless you're going for a very specific person that Knows what they're are doing. read more

Customer service is terrible! They don't listen when you tell them exactly how you want your nails and try to correct them before they are too far ahead, they catch an attitude and obv disregard your preferences. I hate nail techs who are like that especially when my nails turn out the exact way I was trying to avoid! They rush through your nails and it shows. They are a bit pricey, too pricey for me not to like my nails each time. The last time I went, on one of my hands, the nails were longer than the other hand and the nails themselves were slanted because they were filed uneven! Holly and Kim were my favorite nail techs there and they no longer work there so I will not be returning. I tried letting others do them and every single time they mess them up due to not listening and rushing so I will be going to lush nail bar down the street from now on. They are good and they provide discounts for KSU students as well. NOTE TO SALON: Please stop rushing and listen to your customers. People like me have been getting their nails done for years, we know what we're talking about when we suggest things. We know what we like and don't like, pleas listen to your customers especially when they're paying you their hard earn money. read more

No. No. No. Hell no. Sad fact: Not all nail techs are good nail techs. Not every person working in a nail shop should do everything. I wish more businesses focused on what the tech is good at instead of everything on the menu! I'd rather spend my money on nails that look impeccable instead of walking out with trashy, NJ duck lip nails! My first visit, I came in for a pedicure and ended up getting a quick fill in with Henry. He did a good job so when I called back to ask for him, of course he wasn't available. I asked when he would be back and was told he would be out for a while but was encouraged to try someone else. I told her I needed someone that could do pink and white and she made me an appointment with her "best" nail tech. I don't like getting my pedicure and nails done at the same time. I know, boo hoo, white girl problem, but, I like to relax during my pedicure and you can't have the massage chair on if they're working your nails. No massage chair!? Fail! I attempted to turn the chair on and the tech promptly shut it down! Just because I wear gel over my real nails doesn't mean I want them to look like globbed on acrylic nails. Guess what, not only did the "best" nail tech glob on the gel but she fanned out my tips to the point where they look like thick scoops. I could have been an extra on any NJ TV show! After being shamed by my friends, I ended up going back that same night to have them narrow out my nails. Not only were the nail techs offended and tried to argue with me about my nails but the "best" nail tech refused to even look at me! I was overly nice and did not raise my voice like I should have because I didn't want to cause a scene but as I made my request, they all began to talk loudly back and forth in their language and soon the entire salon, customers included, were staring at me. The "best" nail tech refused to touch my nails and the new girl they sat down in front of me whittled down my NJ fan nails to stubs. She was so rough she cut up my cuticles! My first time coming here and I would never go again. I felt as though the girl doing my nails was doing them like we were at a slumber party, basically I could have done this at home myself. The polish could have been done cleaner than they were. It felt clumpy and as another yelper stated, "laziness." I just wish I had a better experience. Should have known better when I saw another client asking if she could get a top coat on her toe nails and also walked back in after leaving to ask for them to wipe the excess polish from around her toes. I am not one to write a review (even for a bad experience) but this was the first and last time I will be visiting this salon. I had an 11:30 appointment for a pedicure and a full set of acrylics with gel polish. They were very busy (understandable) and I waited a solid 30 minutes before anyone started my nails (still not the issue). I noticed as she was doing my nails she was adding a lot of the powder making them very thick, I asked twice for her to "sand" them down so they wouldn't be so thick and she did but they still did not look good. I had already been there for an hour and a half at this point and did not care to be there any longer. My acrylics are still so thick and I will now be trying to find another place to go to fix them. WORST set of nails I've ever received!! The tech put the tips on at ODD ANGLES. they are angled upwards so that there are literally GAPS in between my real nail and the extension. I can tell because I'm able to shove a paper card underneath some of them. There's no way I will be able to properly sanitize my fingernails like this. I asked for coffin shape and they look like really long skinny rectangles that are sticking out at crooked angles. The color is also wrong. I wanted red glitter but the tech piled on the sns so thick and lumpy that so much filing had to be done, resulting in some of the glitter showing through as silver which is definitely not what I wanted. I will be returning tomorrow and expecting someone to completely redo this rediculous job. I'm not paying 55 for hands that I cannot properly clean that look this jacked up. There are even some areas where the sns goes OVER MY CUTICLE, which means they are going to be jagged at the base when they start to grow out. Extremely poor work!!! read more

This place is Fantastic! I highly recommend that you try it, regardless of any negative remarks you see in reviews. If you are short on time, make an appointment; they are usually pretty busy on the weekends -- although that has never affected the level of service that I receive. So far, I've had three different nail technicians work on my nails, and I have never been disappointed. They are indeed pretty friendly, and will always try to make you feel comfortable. Just remember that speaking down to anyone and being rude will all but guarantee that you'll get attitude. Why should they take it from the few condescending customers that come in? I asked for a sns fill in with French tip and the lady obviously didn't know how to do that and the lines on the French tip are so uneven and the powder is so thick!! I hate it and I came back for a refund and the owner was so rude and said that people take time on my nails and I should of told her I didn't like it. I didn't think fixing a nail could be so hard. I walked in and was greeted by who seemed to be the owner right away. She was friendly and pleasant. However, the guy who did my nails not so much. I came in wanting to get a nail fixed after breaking it. I also had another nail with a crack. Maybe he wasn't detailed since they weren't originally done there. It was my pinky and thumb that was cracked. Before even sitting down I asked if they had the same color as it is popular in most shops. He layered on the powder so thick that my pinky looks clumpy. And my thumb is shaped oval. Mind you the tea of my fingers are squoval. He also was upset when I made him reapply the nail for my pinky as it was way short . I came home and shaped them by myself!! Terrible. Came in and told them I wanted a gel manicure. They told me to pick a color and sit. Didn't tell me it would be a 30 minutes wait. The guy started doing my nails. I told him I like square round and be made them all square and painted the color so far from the cuticle it's 4 days later and 2 nails chipped and I already look like I need a fill in. I had a bad experience before, but decided to give this salon another try a year later because it was close to work and my nails were in DESPERATE need. But, I will literally never go back again. Never. I walked in at 5:00PM, and was told to sit down by a man named Danny who was rude as soon as he saw me. I had SNS on my nails from about a month earlier, and after using the drill for a few seconds he got exasperated and started prying the fake nails off of my own (something I KNOW they are not supposed to do). He obviously was wanting to do it the quickest way possible. When I said "ouch that hurts," he looked up at me, laughed and continued doing it. Red flag #1. Next, after complete silence and no small talk to me whatsoever for a few minutes, he says "it will be $45.00" At first I said OK, because the menu states that SNS nails are that price. But then he gets the materials for GEL nails out and starts putting them on (the powder, liquid, solar lights, etc.). I've gotten my nails done for years and think I know the difference between SNS and gel. I told him "I actually asked for SNS, and you're doing gel." He goes on to say "Oh, no honey. SNS and gel are the same thing. This one is better for your nails," like I'm a complete idiot. No, honey, SNS is not what you were doing at all and you were scamming me. It took him under 30 minutes. Each time I've had them done WELL, it takes at least an hour. I know because he kept checking the clock and looking away from my nails while using the drill on them - which in turn cut me in multiple spots and burned the entire time I was there. Between the looks at the clock, the blatant lying, and how rough he was with the drill and with the nail file, I was ready to get out of there as soon as possible. He was so rough filing my nails that my nail beds were sore the entire night and it was difficult to sleep. To top it ALL off, once we got to the check out counter I told him "You did gel on my fingers, and your menu says $30 for gel. You didn't do SNS, so I'm not paying for it." He goes on to insist that they are the same and that I'm mistaken. And ONLY THEN, when the tip paper was in front of me does he start talking saying "if anything goes wrong with your nails, please come back and I'll fix them. Here is my card, thank you so much for coming in I appreciate you." I was so over being there I said fine and tipped him regardless of how bad my experience was. Looking back, I wish I had left as soon as he lied to me about what I was getting and walked out and given him NONE of my money. I am never going back. read more

Love the way the owner Rosie does my nails. BUT you have to be prepared for snarky service start to finish. After being there 3 hours for simple gel polish on my SHORT nails and a simple pedicure, I'm told that I can't use one of the fans that actually work because "her customers are there!" I reminded her that I'm her paying customer also and the fan she always wants you to use barely blows out ANYTHING!! I told her I've already been here 3 hours and just want to get finished. She told me I should go now! What I wouldn't give to just NOT PAY and walk out the door. But it's not in my nature to not pay so instead I'm sitting here and she's rudely letting me. Basically she could care less about my request and direct statement that this fan barely works. SO - I'm writing this while I waste my time with about as much air blowing on my toes as if I were just trying to blow them dry using my breath. Also good to mention that I've been coming here for about 4-5 years. Which in the nail business I guess that seems about right, they're decent at first and then they assume you won't leave and will continue to take their rudeness. Perhaps today I've simply had enough of it. I should note that also the girl that did my pedicure couldn't even understand me asking her to clip my toenails short. She didn't understand one thing I said to her the entire time. I want to know how is someone supposed to do a service for you when you can't communicate your wishes to them AT ALL? Rosie has been giving me non-English speaking people to do my pedicure for a while now, BUT at least she usually tries to listen in and will walk by and inform the girls of what I'm wanting. Not this time. I was completely on my own with someone trying to do a service for me that couldn't understand ANYTHING. You want your toenails shorter, oh well! Good luck making that clear! I have been here twice to get my eyebrows waxed. The first time was great. The technician understand my eyebrow grew sparsely towards the end and gave me a perfect shape that frames my face. When I went back the second time, I asked for a clean up. When I got up to check in the mirror my heart literally dropped. The ends of my eyebrows were gone and I was left with half a brow. Now I have to go invest in brow tinting until it grow out because of their negligence. The funny thing is, the woman who did my eyebrows had 10 years of experience. read more
