Long story short: RUDE MANAGER, NOT EMPLOYEE OR CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. Lana, the manager was very rude, blamed her employee for an accident with my shoes and made them pay to replace my shoes and then found a way to blame me for an employee's accident. This salon is not customer or employee friendly. I will not be going back. See story below if you want to know details or you want to avoid the same bad experience I did! I'm really disappointed with how a situation was handled by the manager, Lana. During my visit, a worker accidentally spilled nail polish on my $155 shoes (I was never upset with him since it was an accident). When I asked to discuss it, Lana took it upon herself to offer a replacement, which I appreciated at the time. She later told me to come pick up the new shoes and bring my old pair to exchange. However, when I arrived, the replacement shoes were a slightly different color than my existing one which was an issue because she insisted on giving me only one shoe because "only one was ruined." Shoes come as a pair... and I was never told I'd only receive a single, mismatched shoe. When I pointed that out, she repeated the same excuse and told me I should be grateful for the one shoe and "I made the employee buy me new shoes." She claimed I had "made" the employee pay for the replacement, which is untrue. She offered the replacement herself, and I never asked for it. Instead of taking responsibility as a business, she blamed her employee and then turned around and blamed me, going as far as calling me rude for making him buy them and bringing up his personal situation to guilt me. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I can live without the shoes, but Lana handled this terribly. She and this nail salon are not employee or customer friendly and I absolutely will not be going back. read more

When asked by the front desk which services I wanted, I clearly said "classic." Then when the nail technician asked me again, I again said "classic." I wanted gel polish, which is usually more expensive, so I even brought my own gel polish for both my hands and feet. The posted prices for the classic manicure and pedicure are $25 and $35, so I expected my total to be $60. Instead, my bill came to $90.90 When I questioned the charge, I was told, "You supplied your own polish, but you got a gel manicure and pedicure." I left absolutely livid. At no point was it explained to me that I was being upgraded to a more expensive service. Why ask what service I want if it's going to be ignored? To make matters worse, before finding out my total was $90, I had already tipped the technician $15 because she did an excellent job. She even offered to go to the cashier with me, but instead of clarifying that I brought my own polish and requested a classic service, she repeated that I "got the gel manicure." Needless to say, I won't be returning. Expensive lesson learned. Customers should be clearly informed about upgraded services and charges before they're added to the bill. read more

Wanted to get a French design pedicure (I am a black woman so I have hyper pigmented / melanated nails) so I requested multiple times for a solid skin tone neutral pink color (I have requested this before here and different nail salons) what I got initially was a horrible half done job with clear pink polish, I walked back in and say in cordial manner that I am unhappy with it and again I go the embarrassment of three people bringing straight tan (like khaki pants) and just saying oh we can't you're nails are too dark and oh we don't have that color .. just on and on - okay I say please just do regular and provide a refund for the French itself - another argument saying we can't do that and I'll have to pay them for taking the nail polish off again, until more private conversation later between them and they toss a 5$ bill on the counter as I ask should I bring my card in to get the refund (pic attached). A small matter but asked for a flower for my pedicure 3-4 times and unfortunately there was zero understanding. Beautiful nail salon! Very clean, plenty of pedicure chairs (at least 24) and plenty of friendly nail techs. I was able to schedule an appointment online through their booking tool. When I arrived, there was tons of parking available outside. I walked into this beautiful, airy and bright nail salon. A friendly staff member asked me to sign in on the iPad at the front desk. You simply type in your phone number and name. I barely waited 2 minutes when the same staff member came back up to me and asked me what services I was coming in for and I explained I had an appointment for a pedicure and gel manicure. She walked me right over to a pedicure chair and told me my nail tech would be right over. They started the water for me and I waited/soaked for about 8 minutes and Tina greeted me. Super sweet and great leg massage! She did a fabulous job on my pedicure and I will definitely book her next time. She wasn't very chatty but very pleasant and friendly. I was able to actually enjoy my pedicure and listen to the music they had playing in the salon. Tracey came up and started on my gel manicure (at my pedicure chair) and she was super friendly! Overall I had a great experience and I loved that it was very clean and I saw them open up their sanitized tools from the baggies. A bit pricier than most salons I've gone to but great location and I love that they are up with the times as far as technology and I can book online. Today was my first day here at Golden One Nail Lounge and let me just say I am 1000% HAPPY! The experience was exceptional from the minute I walked in to the minute I left. Let's talk about the bright lighting, clean, modern aura, exquisite decor and warm, friendly service that greets you as soon as you walk in. You're greeted at the door by a receptionist who checks you into the computer, then seats you with a Tech. I wanted Steve or Lana but since they were busy, I was seated with Nick. Wow! He is awesome! He started my nails, and based off the pictures I showed him, he knew exactly what to do for me. I wanted my toes done also so he took me to the pedi chair and another friendly lady started my toes. She was gentle, kind, and we chat a little bit. EVERYBODY IN THIS SALON IS SWEET AND FRIENDLY! While she did my toes, Nick was busy perfecting my fingernails. He took the suggestions I gave him and made some recommendations of his own as well. He helped me with color choices and design ideas. He was helpful and thoughtful of my vision every step of the way! The design, shape, and color all came out so PERFECTLY! And he worked so fact! My nails and toes were all completed in an hour and a half! When I was almost finished , Lana came to me and asked me how I was doing and how I enjoyed my first visit. I told her I LOVED IT I have been searching for months for a new Nail salon and was afraid I'd never find the perfect one. But Nick and Golden One Nail Lounge are now my new beauty home! Im big on reviews and from what I read no one complained about the outcome of their nails! Anna did a acrylic fill and I showed her an inspiration pic and she delivered!! She was very pleasant but not overly enthusiastic, she got the job done and engaged a little bit in conversation which I appreciated! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, did not keep me waiting long. They had a ton of nail polish selections as well as pedicure choices. Their menu booklet was so high quality, not your typical laminated paper sheet like other salons. Everything about the salon was very well designed and thought out, also clean! Today, I'd rate the service a disappointing 0. I felt discriminated against during a service I intended to pay for. I waited for 26 minutes before being attended to, and it seemed that if a woman from a different racial background hadn't come in for the same service, I might have waited even longer. What made it worse was that, while I had three technicians to start my SNS service, the other person who arrived 20 minutes after me had only one technician and finished her service 10 minutes earlier. I expressed my disappointment to the manager, who provided what seemed like an insincere apology for the delay. Any nail salon is better than Alpha Nail Salon on Old 41 Hwy & Barrett Pkwy. I've been to Alpha Nails 4 times since they opened. My fill ins chip, several of the staff are clearly inexperienced, and they didn't bother to tell me gel polish costs a lot more than powder. I complained but it made no difference to them. In fact, the owner's wife & a couple of the others working there made a point of talking about me in their language. Something was said and they all suddenly turned to look at me. They're rude, their nail work is poor, and they fail to be accountable to clients when they overcharge for service. Never go to Alpha Nails. Golden One Nail Lounge is a far better salon. read more

I love how clean this place is, always fully staffed, lots of color and service options. One older gentleman in particular gives the best pedicure and massage I've ever had. Prices are fair but the longer I went the more odd it seemed that they write down prices on sticky notes rather than being up front on pricing or show service prices on a "menu" of some kind. The only bad service I've had was an older lady that was super bothered I just needed a regular color change (I'm super ticklish and I can't handle most pedicures - I hate this lol), and she left my polish chunky and tacky, annoyed I didn't do gel, charged me the full price for polish removal when I took off most myself, and took off without saying thank you or seeing if I liked it. The women working there are very clicky and don't make you feel welcome, the men working there give the best service. I have been here 3 times. First 2 were awesome. (My appointment was with May. Unfortunately she is not longer there.) Third time was horrible. (I don't want to provide her name.) I got a basic manicure: First, I do not agree with soaking my natural nails in hot water for 10 minutes. Then the tech told me he wouldn't charge me for the nail art and did. Then was given gel samples instead of normal ones to try to trick me. It worked.
