I love the work that Winnie does. She did my brows almost 2 years ago and they still look amazing. I've also had a lash lift, which has really sped up my ability to get out of the house in the morning. I love that my lashes do not need mascara (unless I'm going for that extra, extra pop) and are so low maintenance. This place is absolutely amazing! After my first time getting it done by Winnie, I was absolutely OBSESSED. 5-6 years ago, I called for a consultation and appointment to get my lashes done. Winnie walked me through the process, showed me the type of lashes and glue she uses, and let me know how long it would take. I was going to Mexico and didn't want to keep applying strip lashes, so this was a great alternative. I showed her the strip lashes that I normally use and she was able to replicate the look! Fast forward to today, I still get my lashes done by her. I typically go for hybrid for upkeep day to day and then volume for vacation. I'll admit, I went to see several different lash techs when I kept moving around the bay area, and I always found myself coming back to her no matter how far away I had moved. She is the BEST lash tech in the Bay Area. My lashes stay fluffy, and will always last me 5 weeks for regular hybrid and 4 weeks if I go on vacation to some tropical beach vacation. My skin typically gets oily in the winter time, so I can see my lashes fall out faster, but thats just how my skin is. I've went snowboarding with her lashes and was pretty solid. I've been thrashed around by crazy waves in Mexico, and my lashes were pretty solid. I was in the Philippines and then Japan for a month and my lashes were still hanging on tight. My most recent adventure was to Bora Bora in French Polynesia, and LET ME TELL YOU. WINNIE HAD DID SUCH AN AMAZING JOB, I HAD TO SHOUT HER OUT WHILE ON VACATION. I was in the ocean for at least 8hrs a day and my lashes were still looking amazing by the time I got home. I will note that my experience may be very different compared to some people. However, I do acknowledge that my natural lashes shed and I always try to make my appointment when they shed so my new lash extensions can last longer. Eyelash extensions are not exactly permanent, so you would have to get them filled for upkeep. Quick tips: - Make your appointment online - Show up on time so you don't ruin the flow of appointments! If you come late, this affects the time for everyone else after you - Always good to show Winnie a strip lash as an example of what you want - Be as detailed with the look, show pictures - Do not drink coffee/tea before the appointment, you will not be able to use the restroom while in the middle of her doing her work - Use the restroom before your appointment (its in the back) - I wash my hair/shower before my appointment because you are not allowed to get lashes wet for 24hrs. Winnie is amazing. The guy they had come in two years ago has stopped me from coming in. Stopped my whole family. I came in last time, and got a pedicure and he filed my Big toe down, so it was bleeding and hurt while I was wearing shoes for work I had worked three jobs at this point in time, my toe was hurting for a whole week. Came in for an acrylic soak off had my acrylics on for about a week (from a different shop) for my sisters wedding then had to get them taken off for work. He charged me $20 which is a little high for a soak off. Usually when I go on for soak offs it's never a problem in other shops but when I came in the male nail tech proceeded to complain that it won't come off because he couldn't rip them out and had to do the soak off instead. I been here once and it will be the last. ZERO starts if I could. DO NOT GET TRICK WITH THE REVIEWS, THEY ARE NOT FOR THE NAIL SERVICES... Let's start with the not so bad. The pedicure was decent. The girl who helped me tried her best. I can tell she did all she could but it just wasn't to my standards. Now, the guy who did my manicure was just horrible. His attitude, his professionalism, his demeanor, his whole customer service was just the worst I ever experienced. I broke a nail and the place I normally go to was booked. So, I looked for a place with great reviews near my location at the time and found The Beauty Bar. I called ahead of time to see if they could help me and they said yes. When I got there the girl who greeted me was nice, she had me seat down and put my feet in water. She then realized I had gel on my toes so she had to get my feet out of the water, dry them to take care of the gel polish in order to continue, no big deal, we all make mistakes. Then The guy started on my manicure, I been to many places where the tech starts working on your finger nails while someone else works on your toe nails and I'm ok with that. The guy helping me used the electric nail filer to remove my gel, I personally prefer the foil wrap but it's ok if the tech knows what he/she is doing so I didn't complaint. What I did find weird is that he would not even move to my left or right side, he had me twisted in order to work on the opposite hand. Once he was done removing the gel I though ok he will continue after she is done, every place I go to they have me wash my hands before they continue with the manicure. No, he continued working on my hands, he cut my nails, put my fingers in water and somewhat took care of my cuticles. I came in with a beautiful set of gel nails, long and square, I did tell him to cut them a little but we never talked about changing the shape. And I would have been ok if he had changed the shape to a consistent shape, all oval, all round but no, the shape of my nails was not consistent at all. I thought fine, he cut them already, not much we can do so I let him continue. He knowing that he had residue from the powder of the electric nail filer went ahead and dip my finger tips in the same bowl of water he had from before and proceed to paint my nails. Seriously? Once he finished, he poured some oil in his hand and gave me a painful massage on my hands and half of my arm. I paid and tip and got out of there, there was no point in me complaining if that is the best they can do there is no way they could have fix it and I was not going to risk it. I tipped because we all are working to make a living and I understand but do your job with passion if you are not able to then look for a different job. That is why I am writing this review, to let you reading decide if you want this kind of service. Please see the pictures... Not even an hour later the polished was peeling. I ended up cutting my nails because they are too thin to go anywhere else for a repair manicure. Honestly, i'm not one to give 1 star. But as the days have gone by since Friday it just keeps getting worse and worse. First, the male who did my nails (said he was the only male who works there) seemed to be in a rush and did not do quality work at all. I also got a pedicure by an older lady and she was amazing! I would go back ONLY for pedicures and ONLY for her. My nails are not uniform and very uneven (see pics). And this is after asking 3, 4, 5 times to file down the uneven parts. I have been getting my nails done for years and I have two people in my family who are nail technicians, so I know my way around acrylic tips being uneven. Guess what? My right thumb still looks as if there's a mountain on it. He could not at all do the shape I requested, to the point of completely filing down to the tip of my right pointer finger. This led to an uneven shape and obviously uneven acrylic. I asked for black tips with a natural color. He proceeded to use a pink that looks more like orange and instead of black tips, painted tiny black tips in gel paint. When he was done I had to ask 3 TIMES and ended up being almost every every finger that he filed the gel down so much that there was no black on the ends of my nails. and because he was in a hurry when he did touchups, one of my nails is completely matte black instead of having a shiny topcoat on top. Now for alllll of that and over an hour for just my nails, here's what happened price wise. When I called I said I needed a full set and take off my current nails. He said $40. I said I wanted a gel pedicure and he said $30. When I go to checkout after all of this, the girl looks at my nails and says "60..." then looks at my toes and goes "40..." then looks at me and says okay $120. ummmmm OKAY WHAT? so yeah I'm never going back. Horrible job and WHAT is with that pricing?! and remember-- this was 3 DAYS AGO. Now I have to go pay to have them fixed all over again. read more

I came back to Winnie to have my eyebrows fixed! After years I years of plucking, (there were parts that didn't grow back), I was ready to get them evened out. After discussing what the best option was for me, we decided to go the ombré route. I honestly didn't realize how uneven my original brows were until she measured & outlined my new shape (so embarrassing!! Why didn't anyone tell me?!!).
