Was NOT expecting to have this high caliber of a meal inside of a courtyard of a mini-golf course. Complex flavors and spices, hand folded Arepas, perfectly seasoned chicken and pork. Even a nice covered area to eat. We're here to golf but came a little early to eat. Smoothie stand has hot dogs, but I ordered Ally's plate, and my wife had King Kong Arepa vegetarian style. Both were outstanding. With a giant free playground adjacent, I would come here with family just for the food and playground even if I wasn't golfing. Ally deserves an award read more

This place is not to be missed while visiting the North side. The proprietor is very sweet and dedicated to her craft. The servings are generous and the food is absolutely delicious -- rice, beans, chicken, shrimp, succulent pork and arepas. This is a casual but very pleasant place to stop for a bite. I hope to never take the highway north from Kilauea to Hanalei without stopping for lunch at Ally's Cocina for a King Kong arepa. It's SO GOOD. The chicken one with cheese - medium spicy - is my favorite. Pick up a tasty cocktail or beer at the miniature golf place that's literally just steps away. You can't go wrong. This was a well deserved five star!!! My husband and i got Ally's plate with the slow roasted pork! It was full of flavor and spice, we both got the spicy (highly encourage you to get spicy if you like spice to your food). I'd like to say i am a Latin cuisine connoisseur, being Latin myself haha. This was by far the best Latin cuisine i have had on the islands and up there as one of my top 10 places overall, even compared to the mainland. It was amazing because even after i finished my food i was still thinking about how good it was, definitely coming back! Highly recommend if anyone is looking for Latin food other than Mexican food or just good food in general (nothing against Mexican food btw). Customer service was also very pleasant (: Wish i taken a picture but i was so hungry from the smell that i crushed it before i even thought of pulling my phone out. Tiny place in the back of the mini golf. My husband and I stumbled upon it after playing at the mini golf. Neither of us had Venezuelan food before. WOW! What a treat! The food and service are fabulous. Ally makes the arepas fresh. OMG delicious. We had the chicken and avocado arepa. We are still talking about it. Can't say enough good things. This was by far the best meal we had in Kauai! Ally is super sweet and you can tell she is passionate about her cooking. We had the chicken and avocado arepa, the shrimp and avocado arepa, the spam and eggs arepa, and the fried plantains. Everything was cooked fresh when ordered and blew my mind! The spam and egg arepa was my favorite, I actually ordered a second one to take home, it was good even cold. You can order mild, medium, or hot and the sauce is on point! If you are looking for a place with DELICIOUS, satisfying, and authentic food, this is the place. Before this, we have never tried Venezuelan food, but this restaurant was top notch. I got the Ally's Plate, with perfectly cooked rice and beans, fresh avocado guacamole, fried plantains, and delicious fried mini arepas (great portions of everything). We also tried the yuca fries which by themselves were worth the trip. The salsa was amazing (make sure to ask for extra if you like it spicy but the salsa is optional if you don't like spicy food-- you are simply missing out) Ally was very personable and we had great conversations with her, great service and cared for us the way a customer ought to be cared for. The location was great, perfect for families. Lots of green area and space for kids to play in along with a playground at the bottom of the hill where Ally's is located. The outside seating is surrounded by beautiful views and lush vegetation yet it is not crowded with people. We have already come here 2 times during our stay on this island and will for sure be back more times before we leave. I would recommend this place to anybody. read more

I am a Latina who grew up eating arepas in South America. These arepas are the best I have eaten in the U.S. Unlike arepas from other countries, Venezuelan arepas are stuffed with meats and other things. I tried two of Ally's arepas - one with shredded pork and another with chicken. Both were very good and also were very different between them in taste so a nice variety. One arepa is a generous meal and will fill you up for hours. Highly recommended. read more
