This place is a chain breakfast/brunch spot in Canada and in my opinion it only got a 3 because the crepe was delicious. Other than that the food was mediocre and personally nothing to rave over. We got the choco coco de lux and scramble grilled cheese. My friend thought the choco coco de lux was decent but we agreed the crepe was delicious. However, I wasn't a fan of the scrambled egg grilled cheese. If you are visiting I would suggest trying more local spot not a chain. The food is mass produced and poorly made. Ingredients were borderline rotting. My smoked salmon was so fishy I couldnt even swallow it. MASSIVE menu, with so many amazing items that my family (which includes multiple kids, so keep that in mind) took easily 20 minutes to decide what to eat. The waiter was totally patient throughout that drawn out decision making process and I couldn't have asked for more from him. The best way to describe this place is the Cheesecake Factory for breakfast. Big breakfast menu, low prices, big portions, and mediocre food. My husband ordered the pancakes French toast and waffle combo and I ordered the eggs Benedict with spinach and ham and cheese for the side of potatoes. The server was pleasant and the menu came in French and English. The pancakes combo was decent enough but the eggs Benedict was a joke. A sad little piece of ham on top of English muffins and frozen spinach mixed in with the Hollandaise sauce. The additional $3 for the potatoes is to add some on top...it is processed orange shredded cheddar cheese that you find in the grocery store next to the butter. Both meals came with a lot of cut up fruit but even the fruit was pretty tasteless. If your ok with places like the Olive Garden and the Cheesecake Factory you will probably like this place. Being tourists in Quebec City on Christmas Day morning, even McDonald's was closed. We struggled to find a breakfast restaurant until we finally found coco on Yelp. I ordered the Brie cheese (because I like Brie and was curious to see how eggs Benny and Brie would taste together) mushroom egg Benedict while my wife ordered the smoked salmon egg Benedict. These dishes were priced around $17. Both came with a LARGE bowl of assorted fresh fruit (think of cora's serving multiplied by 3-5) and a large baked potato mush with 2 types of cheese shavings on top (cheddar and mozzarella?). Be careful because the cheese on top apparently cost additional $3, which we did not ask for. Luckily for them, it didn't taste horrible so we didn't complain. Overall, it was a very satisfying breakfast but very pricey; the two of us spent around $50 after tax and tips. read more

I was presently surprised to find a Allo! Mon Coco on my trip to Quebec City. I went before in Montreal. I simply love this place. It's clean, modern and the menu is varied. Much better than any other chain breakfast place I've been to. Atmosphere is great. Potatoes are deliciiiious. The wait staff was very r pleasant and vibrant. The service at this location was terrible. My dad received the breakfast sandwich he ordered without eggs when there should have been. He asked for the eggs to be brought to him fried (as opposed to scrambled like they should have been in the sandwich). The owner flat out refused to serve him fried eggs because "that's not what was included with his meal" and brought him scrambled eggs to put in a sandwich that had already been eaten. He again requested fried eggs, underlining that he'd pay for them and was again refused but this time, the owner made it a point to come to our table to let her refusal be known. Instead of apologizing for her mistake, she rudely dismissed us. In the end, she never made the eggs. This was just horrible customer service. It was 6am. We were the only ones in the restaurant. There was simply no excuse for this outright rude behavior on the owner's part. read more

Having been going to Allo Mon Coco since it opened in Ste Dorothee over 10 years, this franchise is a hit or miss with management. We are regular customers here coming several times a month. Today we waited 20 minutes in line for 2 people. They sat 2 groups of 3 people behind us including an incomplete group. And they were going to sit another group of 3 people behind us that arrived just 2 minutes before. They refused to sit the complete groups of 2 people (us and another group in front). When I told then this wasn't good what they were doing they argued back with us that they did not want to sit us on a bigger table. So we left. And I am never returning back to this franchise again in Quebec City. Unacceptable. read more

This place gets 5 stars from me because they're always open! As a tourist in Quebec City, it was hard to find anything open on New Year's Day. We happened by here and found this place. The only place opened for miles! They serve breakfast all day. For those of us with little to no French proficiency, they have a version of the menu in English as well. I had the cafe mocha to warm up a bit. I was not disappointed! It came in a nice mug, covered in whipped cream and sprinkled with chocolate shavings. For my meal, I chose the crab cakes eggs Benedict. It was a little too much food for me, but was very good. It came with homefries, which were actually my favorite part of the meal. They were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a fruit bowl, which included watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, blackberries, bananas, strawberries and blueberries. Again, entirely too much food for me, but it was nice to have the options to eat all that. I shared the fruit bowl with my boyfriend, who was glad to have something sweet with his meal. read more
