They had us using the table to mix colors since we were only given one bowl (to share) and one piping bag per person.

I did one of their cake decorating classes about a year ago...Lol that class was a hot mess. I signed up for a buttercream fall leaves decorating class. The teacher thought she was doing a fondant class....so she did this whole fondant demo (which honestly wasn't very good either and I would have been very disappointed in the instruction if the class I had signed up for was a fondant class too) and then I asked, are we going to do any of the piping? And she basically said no and the lady next to me also then chimed in saying that she thought this was a piping class...which it was according to the description on the signup page..and a few other people were like yeah I thought so too! So then she does some piping demos, meanwhile we only have one piping bag per person and no bowls for mixing colors ‍‍‍ Also the cake and frosting tasted terrible. At least it wasn't a baking class. Thankfully they refunded our money, but only as a "store credit", not the original payment method. Then I signed up to take a macaron class, only for that one to get canceled a week before the class was supposed to take place. So I'm still stuck with a credit for a class.

The only way we could deal with this gloomy weekend was by grabbing pastries from @cooksbellecour on NOLO. We left with 2 whole boxes stuffed with croissants, scones and danishes, and are already making plans to check out the rest of their offerings on our next trip. 1. Cheddar Rosemary Scone: You could tell the skill of the chefs at Bellecour by these aromatic scones that were airy yet solid without crumbling in its entirety as you broke a piece. The sharp cheddar in this scone complemented the piny, herby rosemary that kept us "ooh"-ing at every bite. 2. Everything Croissant: This is our TOP recommendation out of everything we tried. The best croissant in the Midwest now comes generously loaded with the garlicky, savoury and familiar seasoning from everyone's favourite bagel in America. There may have been infinitely many buttery layers to this pastry, and we can still not stop thinking about this combo we never thought we needed. 3. Bread Pudding: Can't decide between the Pain au Chocolat or Almond Croissant? We get it, and so does Bellecour! This scrumptiously moist bread pudding is a blend of their top-selling pastries, with a hard crust of almond flakes and a thick, spiced dulce de leche piped at the top with a generous dusting of icing sugar. 4. Monkey Bread: Akin to the Pecan Pull Apart found across the road at Spoon and Stable, this monkey bread was light and pillowy as you pulled it apart to dunk it into the dollop of subtly sweet and velvety caramel in the middle. 5. Blueberry Lemon Danish: Bellecour comes up with a range of seasonal sweet or savoury danishes, and ours was filled with a tangy jam nested in a golden pastry. Although it was a bit sour for our liking, we thoroughly enjoyed the crumbs on the top of the jam that gave this danish a comforting, pie-like texture. All the pastries were sensational and transported us to France, and made it to the top of our list for the best bites this month.

Just love going here for breakfast. You can seat, do some people watching, and shop around for food and kitchen items.

    Almond croissants and kouign Amans

I've been three times, namely for the kouign Aman, almond croissant and an egg and ham croissant. Everything is fresh and perfectly made. Love the beautiful boxes they place the pastries I'm, keeping them from crushing. They make a great idea for a gift because of this! Excellent bakery I'm always excited for and excited to return next time I'm in the area. I haven't tried the coffee drinks yet but my friend says they're great. Bravo!

Small Ice Latte and a yummy Carrot Muffin

Grabbing my wife an iced latte and a carrot muffin this morning to kick off a chilly day in Minnesota! I can't wait for Cooks to bring back their incredible berry scones--hands down the best in MN. The staff is always so friendly, the baked goods are top-notch, and they even have cooking tools you never knew you needed.

FOOD: Oh my goodness this is THE place to go for pastries/breakfast goodies. I just learned that the chef behind Bellecour is also the chef behind Demi and Spoon and Stable, so there is no surprise that the pastries were incredible. Let's just say, these pastries were better than any I ever had when I was in Paris SERVICE: Service was good, you wait in line and order at the counter. So depending on how busy, you may be in line for a bit. But it tends to go pretty fast! AMBIANCE: I love love love getting to eat my pastries and then look around the cooking shop after! LOCATION/PARKING: There is street parking nearby, but if you have the option to walk it is much easier!

    Chocolate chip cookie

The best chocolate chip cookie in Minnesota. The chocolate is high quality, it's perfectly salty, it's crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. The absolute best

Bellecour Bakery is a silent gem in the North Loop. Their pastry's are absolutely amazing, my favorite is the crepe cake. They also put out some amazing food as well. I've had their wrap's several times and every time they perfectly hit the spot. Bellecour also offers various styles of cooking classes through the months, and I look forward to taking one sometime. If you're going to frequent the bakery, make sure to sign up for their rewards program, which gives you a discount on a purchase after spending so many dollars.

Love love love this place!! Super cute curated cooking utensils, gourmet sauces, and an amazing pastry case selection! Wish they had more seating but we found a bench outside and the day was warm enough to sit out and enjoy my sweet flaky, buttery almond croissant. Also tried the French onion pastry. Also delicious!!!

We love pastries and croissants, and if you do too, you have to stop in! I am a sucker for an almond croissant and theirs is excellent! I also enjoyed the chocolate almond croissant. I love how efficient the service is - not to mention I get to shop around for kitchen gadgets while I'm waiting! There is ample space to sit inside or out which is great. Parking is easy as 50th and France has ton of public parking options.

It was in a super cute kitchen store with small tables scattered for seating. It was busy on a Sunday morning but there were still tables open. The coffees were very affordable for north loop. Highly recommend the chocolate almond croissant! It was flaky and amazing. The plain chocolate croissant was more doughy/soft for some reason.

This is IN Cooks of Crocus Hill so don't be surprised when you're not walking into a "bakery" but a "kitchen store" Two things that are absolutely AMAZING: Chocolate Almond Croissant Everything Croissant Twist Definitely will be going back as a "treat" spot!

I was a little confused at first because the place still has signage or references from its previous name, but it all worked out just fine. As soon as you walk in, you're immediately hit with the amazing smell of garlic (I think the owner was roasting it that day--heavenly). My friend and I took our time browsing all the different olive oils and goodies. The shop has a really nice balance--part store, part cozy café. We ended up chatting with the owner for a bit, and she was welcoming. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience. We ordered the tomato mozzarella panini and a coffee each. I'll be honest--a tomato mozz sandwich wouldn't normally be my go-to, but it was surprisingly flavorful, light, and still filling (half was enough for me). Everything we had was delicious. There's seating inside.... tables and even a comfy couch--giving it that laid-back, neighborhood vibe. Also appreciated that there's a parking lot, which made things easy. If I'm in the area again and need olive oil (or just a chill spot for a coffee and bite), I'd absolutely stop in again!

The moment we walked in, the scent of garlic filled the air. The owner let us in on the secret: she was prepping garlic for their sandwiches. Naturally, we had to try the caprese sandwich, and it did not disappoint--fresh, flavorful, and that garlic? Incredible. The whole place gave off relaxed European vibes, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. I'll definitely be back.
