Called for a quote. Scheduled to come out next day. Then really gave the quote- said our water heater was about to blow, our pressure gave to the house was bad ($800 for that....), the kitchen sink that I was concerned about didn't need to be fixed, and charged $240 to change the $6 lever in the master bath sink and when I came home mysteriously the other lever in the other sink was now broken too. "You can fix that one yourself" $3,500 later. Honestly, the way they left the water heater with the pieces not assembled after $3,500 I just cannot believe what we paid for the experience. Professional and high-integrity! We hired Almco for pipe bursting to replace our ancient cast iron sewer line. The price was reasonable, the experience fantastic. More below. The consultation was thorough and educational. Vlad and Dean provided many resources to educate us, including YouTube videos Vlad made of various options. One vid even showed a pipe bursting job with some hiccups, I liked that transparency. We went with Almco's pipe bursting. Their price was quite reasonable compared to other quotes we got. During the job, the unexpected happened. The burster got stuck twice. Once about halfway through due to fence footings, then a section of pipe further down the line collapsed at a 45 degree turn. Due to this, the Almco team ended up having to trench about 30 of the 80 ft. This doubled their work from 3 to 6 days. However, Dean took full ownership of this and Almco did not charge us a cent more. They also set up temporary sewer solution so that we could use plumbing while our sewer line was broken. While the delays created inconvenience, we were very impressed by their integrity. The final thing is communications and tidiness. It wasn't like after the sale, Dean disappeared. He stopped by several times during the work to check in and give us updates. He was always reachable by phone when we had questions. The 3 workers who did the work were very polite and communicative. They gave us updates at the start and end of each day, did their work neatly, and were always positive and never complained about the extra work. After digging up much of our garden, they restored it to excellent, almost mint condition when done (see during & after photos). Thank you, guys! It is hard these days to find tradespeople who are reliable, responsive and stand by their work. Almco went the extra mile for us. We had a sewer backup on a Sunday afternoon. I left a phone message at Almco regarding the problem. Ryan was at my door at 8AM Monday morning! It turned out to be a stubborn clog but thanks to Ryan and Edgar we had the main problem cleared by 2PM. Their professionalism and attention to detail was exemplary. Thick construction paper was applied to the walkways to protect my pristine hardwood floors. Several weeks ago, my wife called a plumber to address our backed-up garbage disposal. During the first visit, we were told the clog couldn't be fixed by snaking and that a "hydroblast" was necessary to remove all the grime from our pipes. I was skeptical--our home isn't that old, yet they insisted on deploying a three-man crew for a job starting at $1800, an outrageous amount for what should have been a simple fix. When the crew arrived to hydroblast our pipes, they later claimed the procedure hadn't worked and suggested there was something seriously wrong with our plumbing. A few days later, they requested our house blueprints and mentioned that opening holes in our kitchen cabinets and walls would be necessary. At that point, I decided to get a second opinion from trusted neighbors whose homes were built by the same developer. My neighbor recommended Fox Plumbing. Anthony from Fox Plumbing came out the very next day, inspected our pipes, and determined that both the original snaking and the hydroblast had been improperly executed. Due to our home's design--where the sink's pipe leads into a T-junction--the high-pressure water had simply missed the clog. Anthony was able to clear it by snaking the pipe, finishing the job in under 45 minutes and for a fraction of the cost charged by Almco Plumbing. I strongly caution anyone from working with Almco Plumbing. If you're presented with an outrageous bill, get a second opinion before proceeding further. It appears Almco knowingly took advantage of us without ever fixing the underlying issue. Our sink is running great now, all thanks to Fox Plumbing, and I wouldn't wish Almco's methods on anyone. read more

They were efficient and did their best to not disturb any areas that they didn't have to, including finding a way to not cut the drywall. I was very impressed by their expertise! I called because of an under the kitchen sink leak. I'd usually tackle it myself but I just had eye surgery this morning. Lloyd arrived and promptly acted like it was a big deal to remove the Reverse Osmosis tank and replace ALL of the valves (10 year old chrome plated brass) and said they'll only last 5 years. I pulled out the tank for him, but he still wanted over $400 because he had to put it back in. I paid him the $79 service charge and fixed the one leaky fitting myself, despite being admonished by my eye surgeon not to bend for a week.
