I rarely give restaurants 2 stars, but I did not have a good experience here. My friends and I were visiting Harper's ferry and debating between here and another restaurant in the area for lunch, but decided to go here because the other place had a 45 minute wait. Even though we immediately got a table, we waited over an hour for the server to take our order. This is not the servers fault at all, but the management who staffed one server for two very large sections of the restaurant! We tried to even order some water to wait, but the server was running around and did not have time to stop at our table. Even though the wait time at the other place was longer, I think we ended up waiting here for way more time. When the serve finally came to our table and we placed an order, she mentioned that the kitchen is not backed up, she is just busy. We got our food about 20 minutes after that. We got mozzarella sticks, which came out burnt. We debated sending them back but didn't want to wait even longer for food! I got a chicken Caesar wrap, which was pretty decent but nothing exceptional. By the time we finished our food, all the other tables around us cleared out. I wish they had told us about this wait time before we were seated. The restaurant was also pretty dirty, we sat next to a windowsill with spider webs all over and my seat was sticky when I sat down- I had to wipe it before I sat. We will not be coming back here.

Cute little pub in Harper's Ferry. Nothing special... had a cold beer and tried the mozzarella sticks (deep fried), they were good.

came here with my boyfriend, brother and law and nephew after our hike at the Maryland heights trail. I usually do my research before going to eat anywhere but we were starving and being in Harpers ferry there wasn't to many choices the service we got was great I ordered this burger with the potatoes wedges my boyfriend as well and his brother and nephew spaghetti and meatballs my burger had good taste it just wasn't juicy for me was a bit dry and my fries as well as my boyfriends felt like the weren't to cooked through. Don't think I'd come back I'd probably try something else around the area. But it did the job which was to get food in our stomachs.

It pains me to write such an awful review for this establishment; but my experience was so poor it will be forever engrained in my mind. I want to note that poor review speaks volumes about management and not this particular server, because I imagine she is completely underwork and likely underpaid. I also still left over a 20% tip on food that was inedible (read below). First, the place was complete chaos trying to figure out if we seat ourselves and where. When we finally went upstairs I was able to locate ONE frazzled server that quickly walked past me. I was able to get her attention and she told us to seat ourselves, and she'd get to us when she could. We should have left noticing the disorganization and crammed seating space, but we were starved from our far travels and hiking all day. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with NO CHEESE NO CROUTONS. What did I get? A sad salad with cheese all over and croutons in a packet. I was truly desperate for food and decided to suffer the consequences of having dairy and tried to pick through the salad to no avail. I found a completely rotten tomato my salad with FUNGUS on there. I immediately threw it out and proceeded to try to eat the dry and chewy chicken. Then I found another rotten tomato. I was done. The place was completely unhygienic, with dead bugs everywhere (literally my view was on a dead bug on the wall), cobwebs and complete uncleanliness all around. I literally felt sick immediately. Photos attached (after I made the decision it was completely unsalvageable to get past the initial fungus tomato, and this partially rotting tomato).

It was good, i thought the margaritas were done well. I think it was a little high price wise for what we got, but that's to be expected in a tourist town I guess. Everything was fine, but nothing was amazing. Service was friendly though, I would comeback.

I had some trepidation because I saw the previous bad reviews, but I don't have anything negative to report. I got a chicken Caesar wrap and my hubs got fried shrimp and fries. Both were good, both came at the same time maybe 15 min after we ordered. The patio seating is cute, and the server was nice.

Theres seating at the bar and a couple tables. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly. We ordered a few drinks and the bartender was very nice to talk to. She is very passionate about the art of drink making and shared her tips and tricks. She makes a great espresso martini but would probably make you anything you asked for and would enjoy the chance to be creative. We ordered a brie platter which was decent. It was what we were looking for (not a heavy meal). They have wine for sale in the back, as well as assorted ciders, seltzers, and beers. A bit pricey in my opinion for certain items, but that's okay! They have coffee and t shirts for sale too. Dogs are allowed here and the locals seem to know each other and the bartenders know their names too. Very nice and homey to go somewhere that everyone knows each other!! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Well it all worked out how it was supposed to because the food, ambiance, and service were great here! Water carafes were provided to the table & we ordered several drinks. All of the cocktails were beautiful, colorful and had curated understated garnishes. I enjoyed the jalapeño lime fizz, one of the non-intoxicants. Food took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The red pepper pesto with linguine was creamy and rich and topped with fresh Parmesan. I only wish I'd had a piece of bread to sop up the sauce at the end! I'd be interested in trying their brunch and lunch options if I'm in the area again. Our server, Tom, was attentive. The bathrooms are clean and nicely warm thanks to a heater. We all had a great time.

"Good beer, great atmosphere, but horrible and overpriced food."…read more Me and my bestie aka my girlfriend love to travel and we often will stay in a cool town that has several breweries all around it and this place happens to be one that we stopped in while having a mini getaway together. I've been to Brunswick several times in my life and I've always loved the town so I was excited to see someone put a brewery in since the last time I had been there. We stopped in on an early Saturday evening and it was pretty busy because they had live music which was good. We walked right up to the counter and I ordered: - ROYGBIV Power Sour 5/5 - Bar Room Hero Hazy IPA 5/5 We then proceeded to grab a table outside and enjoy our beers while listening to the music and watching all the people enjoy themselves too while we laughed and had good conversation. We hadn't ate much all day so we decided to get something light to eat. My girlfriend walked up to the counter and ordered us a hot dog and Brie with Jam and Pita. The hot dog was decent but the Brie and chips were disgusting to say the least. The price for the Brie was even more disgusting than it tasted for a very small wheel of store bought stale tasting cheese and even staler chips, yikes! I love the building, its history, the whole layout, and vibes of this brewery, but I'd never order food from here again. EVER! Will I come back to have more beers the next time I am in the area, probably but I won't go out of my way, that's for sure.

Fast forward to now and things are much better running. Beer wise there are options for everyone. I'm a big fan of the following: 1. Gandy Oatmeal Stout 6.1% ABV. Strong but not overpowering coffee and chocolate aromas and flavors. This is smooth and super tasty. 2. "Midnight Slug" Extra Special Bitter 5.8% ABV. An old school style not found much anymore. Nice malty flavor up front and bitter on the finish. 3. Maryland Rye Maryland Rye IPA 6.7% ABV. Spicy black pepper notes from the rye make this IPA special. Vibe: blue collar town bar like. They have food that looked and smelled good but we just had lunch and focused on the beer only. Service was great.

Like an hour (ish) drive. So what's happening in HP? The Barn out Washington St. had a MemorialDay weekend all-day mostly-country music event 2pm to 10:30pm! Very nice. They have a great little bar inside, and sometimes have food from one of the restaurants across the parking lot, or just walk over for takeout, or i think i read that they deliver here. By the way, parking can get a little tight for a bigger event like this one, but we were early enough, maybe 1pm, and we scored a space when someone left. I might as well add that there's several clean restrooms sort of across from the bar. We settled into a huge comfy couch near the back of the hall, behind the seating for roughly 30 at tables and picnic tables. There was also seating for roughly 20 at tables out on a deck. The first solo singer-guitarist, D.C.'s Kate Smiles, had a lovely voice and sweetly original interpretations of rock and pop and country songs that i knew, and a presence that made me say, Hey, Wow, I can relax in this mellow mood with a really nice whiskey from a list that my local bar would envy. By the way, they were out of the local whiskey, Devil's Due, so i had a warming fiery oaky slightly-sweet Elijah Craig bourbon, neat, with a water back. Mmmmm. The second musician, W.V.'s Andrew Copenhaver, moved among soulful blues and country, some classics, some modern. He could put an edge on his voice, and he could hit some deep bass notes, so it was a real pleasure when he gave us Folsom Prison Blues. When you can hit that low note, you have a right to do some Johnny Cash. By now i was into some crisp local beers. That little bar really has everything, including a versatile bartender who made every drink we knew, and we sampled his skills as the third musician, NoVA's Mark Cullinane, took the stage. He had a wide range of country songs, including a moving original that made us feel we were driving in our pickup behind his dad's. He had a great rich tone and great range. Like the second musician, he used some kind of looper to create full layers of harmony. What with all the beverages, we started to fade a little as the music moved into the set by NoVA's seriously-country Rowdy Ace Band around 8pm. They really lit up the hall and the patio and probably a good piece of nearby Harpers Ferry. We eventually moved on to our reservations for dinner across the parking lot at Snallygaster's restaurant. But that's another story. We had a terrific afternoon and evening. The Barn will definitely be one of our go-to spots in this town, and we'll be looking to hear these musicians again!
