Aloe is friendly and the space is comfortable, but I wish I hadn't wasted money or time on Evolve treatments or the food allergy test. If you're on the fence about it, don't do it. It's not worth it. I should have known when I looked at their website and only saw a few before and after pics and they were the same pics shown for other treatments. Next time, I might try going to Viva Day Spa instead (it's half the price). The overpriced food allergy test results come with a useless email from the doctor that basically says "don't eat the foods in the red column". That's your $600 analysis? To Aloe: Have people do Evolve consultations who really know the procedure so they can explain it and the expectations well (and accurately). Double check the food allergy email from the doctor for typos before sending it. The content of the email isn't very useful aside from the attached report but if it also has typos then it just sends a "we don't care" message too. read more

I recently had the Aloe Pure Facial with Anissa and can't stop telling everyone about it. Hands down the BEST facial I've ever had. Anissa had a very calming presence paired with magical hands. My whole body melted into the table and I felt extremely relaxed afterwards. Anissa took the time to get a good history and discuss my skin concerns before we started. I felt the facial was very customized to my specific skin concerns. (Pigment, exfoliation, hydration) My skin felt extremely hydrated and was GLOWING afterwards. She made recommendations for products for me to integrate into my current routine to help with dryness. I am LOVING the oils she recommended. My skin has that dewey, youthful look all the time now. I won a gift certificiate at a silent auction for a 30-minute reflexology session. I had experienced a sample reflexology session--read 5-minute taste--so I knew what it was about, but not how I would walk away feeling. My first impression of the spa was that the interior had a modern, peaceful vibe. The lighting and cute vintage furniture in the waiting area provided a calming environment for me to settle into total relaxation during my session. Kathleen welcomed me into the massage room and explained reflexology. You lay on a massage table, but since the work is only done on your feet, you can remain fully clothed. She asked if I had any specific issues before she got to work. I explained that my whole body was always tense and sore, and she prompted me for details into any health ailments. I added that I had thyroid problems and was currently experiencing some digestive troubles. She got to work. I closed me eyes and drifted in an out of a light sleep. At several points, she worked on the outer arches of my feet and in tandem, I felt my stomach loosen, or relax. It's difficult to explain, but the act of putting pressure on that part of my feet released pressure in the parts of my body that were not feeling right. It was truly amazing. After the session, I felt simply wonderful. It's a fascinating form of massage and I recommend you try it if you haven't. Plus, Kathleen is super sweet. read more

I was really eager to shop here, they carry one of my favorite makeup brands and went in hoping that they would have it in stock, they did, but they lost the sale. I walked in, two ladies were in the reception desk, neither one of them greeted me. I walked around the shop area and one of the ladies walked passed me twice, not once did she acknowledge me. However this shop is in an area of Austin that you can easily call desired or privileged. So maybe I just went to the wrong side of town while being brown. Hate to say that but can't help to think that when you're the only one that sticks out like a sore thumb. Laura is by far the best aesthetician in Austin TX. Im getting married soon and without an inch of hesitation I know exactly who to call. She is extremely knowledgeable and the undivided attention you get from her creates perfect experiences every time. She makes recommendations that are very specific to your needs so I think you could say that she makes having great skin affordable. Im not wasting time or money on services or products that I dont need. Go see Laura if you want: Great results! Gentle hands! I'm not sure that comes from experience either. Shes organized so her hands are not fumbling on your face. Haha On time! Again probably because she's so darn organized. It helps that the receptionist communicates well and makes certain you're scheduling enough time. If you need to relax then you're in good hands. For the sake of full disclosure, I have known Christine for quite awhile. I would never in a million years have thought to have a facial because I always thought it was an unneccessary expense.. i dont have many problems with my skin.. blah blah blah .. umm.. i'm rethinking that! 'such a good investment! So glad I went to Christine. 1st of all, Christine has been an esthetician for over 14 yrs and really knows her stuff. She was able to look and see where i had sun damage (amazingly not that much) and how dirty my face was (amazingly not that bad, since i only wash with dr bronners)... but she did get some of the crud out and alerted me to certain spots to watch out for. I'm 40 and luckily have been blessed with my grandmother's skin...hardly any wrinkles Whatever she did, she made my skin look even better!!! One of my patients asked me if I was in love a couple days after I had my treatment from Christine....because I was just glowing! But it goes beyond the vanity. She actually made a good case for using minerals for sun protection and a gentle cleanser. These two products are so simple, but they are making a world of difference and I feel like I owe the future health of my skin to dear wonderful Christine! I really appreciate her knowledge and her restraint when it came to advising me on product. She knew the essentials of what I needed. She just knew I would be more compliant with less product. And Aloe Skin + Body is just gorgeous! I'm not big on product as you can tell...but now I'm wanting to go back and get some of that Wild Plum Eye cream!!!! Definitely worth the money! read more

I found Camille Musso, the acupuncturist at Aloe, via their website. I had been having severe eczema on my face/around my eyes since Jan/Feb of this year and had tried EVERYTHING (literally, everything) to fix it with little success. Needless to say, it was extremely disruptive to my life and very depressing. Traditional medicine was not working for me and I wanted to find an acupuncturist who specialized in skin. I am SO grateful I found Camille. I started seeing her for weekly visits in July and saw an immediate improvement in terms of length and severity of flare-ups. I had been going to another traditional Chinese medicine practitioner/acupuncturist and, while good at her job, she had not been able to fix my problem. I am thrilled to say I'm now "cured" and have reduced the frequency to monthly or as needed. Camille has been fantastic - she's a great listener and did research to find out what was best for me in terms of supplements, etc. She also does cosmetic acupuncture so she was able to do local needles when I was having flare-ups which immediately and dramatically reduced swelling and redness.
