    Lounging area

We love the lounging amenities in this hotel- they have a pool table downstairs, games for kids and adults, tables, comfy sofas, a small bar, complementary beverages in the lobby area, and breakfast sandwiches for purchase. Now, the cons- service is just absolutely horrendous. My family, the friends we came with (who had two separate rooms), and I have never ever experienced such horrible hospitality. Our children were yelled at for just sitting in the lounge area by the bar, with the bartender saying- "I've told you already before that kids can't be in this area." Our friend and three kids were also yelled at for looking at the complimentary items. The front desk representative said- "what are you doing? Just 1! Now go back to your old folks." When we asked for hand soap in our room (because we had none), the front desk person said- "Oh, we ran out." Not to mention that every time I smile at anyone (staff and guests) no one ever smiles back. For the record, we travel all the time, are Marriott members, and have stayed in much nicer places. This hotel needs staff training to teach more about customer service. I have never felt so uncomfortable away from home in my entire life. With that said, I will never stay at an Aloft hotel ever again unless reviews say they've improved their service and how they treat people of all ages with respect.

Super clean and convienent BUT the pillows sucked. Everything else was awesome, comfortable beds, free shuttle to the airport (took about 4 minutes) , and 24 hour desk staff. My husband and I walked to Dennys for dinner and it was about 15 minutes. I booked Aloft through Priceline for $150 on a Tuesday night, and saw on their website it was $12 to park for a night. I had called the hotel the day before to ask a question and staff was very nice. The shuttle starts at 4 am. Flor was our shuttle driver, she was very sweet and we even got to leave a bit early. I think you do have to check in to the shuttle the night before so that they can save you a spot. Would totally stay here again!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel was very clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I only stayed for one night but I had a nice rest.

Stayed here away from my normal hotel in Reno for business. Was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. Rooms and meeting rooms were up to standard. Nothing that will blow you away, but more than sufficient. Food and beverage was great. Ashley at the WXYZ bar was amazing. Great conversation and super attentive. Shout out to Dante the service dog who hangs out by the bar for support. One of the best service dogs I've seen especially in the industry!

My room was spotless and updated. It has everything I wanted for a hotel room! A mini-fridge, a working-desk, a well-lit mirror, a body mirror, a nice shower, blackout curtain, plus outlets and USB ports everywhere. There is a water refill station by the elevator in the lobby, a gym, and a heated, outdoor pool with lounge chairs. Front desk person was nice and friendly. Check-in was super quick. AC works great and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

I love staying at Aloft hotels because of its new designs and modern rooms, and this Aloft is no different. The problem is in the way the room is designed and also the smell of the rooms. The rooms are laid out in a way where the bathroom is divided with a "wall" and so the shower is in the same area as the washing hands station. So basically, when someone is taking a shower you cannot leave the bed side of the room. Also, when we first entered the room, the room smelled a little bit of mildew, which was not super pleasant. The hallways are also pretty dark and dank. I will say that the furniture and beds are very cute. The mattress and blankets are honestly one of the best I have slept on at a hotel, but I will say that the bathroom is a bit inconvenient. Oh and they don't have a strict mask policy which seems weird to me.

I booked this hotel for three reasons; 1) We had an early am flight and didn't feel like having to wake up at 2am, 2) I'm a Marriot Bonvoy member and was able to get a room here for a great price, and 3) It's literally right across the street from the airport. Check in was a breeze. I was able to do it through the app and was also able to use my phone as the room key. On our way to the hotel I received a notification that our room was ready to go. I never had to stop at the front desk. The room was clean, modern, and well stocked with all the usuals. It even included a Bluetooth speaker you can hook your phone to up. My only complaints would be the pillows are not firm in the slightest (they did a number on my neck) and the walls are VERY thin (I was able to hear full blown conversations). The room, while cozy, is small and there is little in the way of privacy when using the shower. There is no barrier. If it's just you or you and your significant other this isn't an issue but if you're splitting the room with a friend, be warned. The customer service is very good here. As stated, I never had to use the front desk but anytime we walked by it (on the way in and out) we were always greeted and acknowledged. The staff here is on point. I would definitely book here again the next time we fly out.

This hotel is seriously right outside Reno airport and by the freeway so, it's very convenient and accessible. Despite its proximity to the airport, it is very quiet - the people in the pool were louder than anything else. I believe they're pet-friendly. It's modern and bright. Toiletries by bliss. Flat-screen TV with your name on the welcome screen, smart fridge, lots of USB ports for your electronics, a small dining area in the room. Certain cable channels not available though. They have a decent gym, filtered water dispenser, a restaurant, and mini store - all by the lobby. Ample parking spaces even for those with boats. With COVID: Quick minimal contact during check-in and check-out. Masks required in public areas. My flight wasn't until later in the evening and they were very accommodating by allowing me to do late checkout. Staff was fantastic. My stay was comfortable and seamless.

I had an extremely comfortable stay. Closely located to the airport the shuttle pick up and drop off is 5-7 min most. I found the room simple yet clean and comfortable. Breakfast I'm the morning perfect and night life if you wish to join in is fun.

It was a short wait of about 15 minutes before they were able to give us our room info. We booked a larger room with a king bed so our son could have a bit more room to roam. Room was clean, bed was comfy. AC was easy to control. It did have a microwave and mini fridge. Emphasis on the mini for the fridge. Pool was semi heated. The outside temp was in the 60s so the water felt about room temp. Whirlpool was nice and warm. The fitness center has the basic weights and cardio machines. Laundry facilities only had 1 washer and dryer. We had dinner at the bistro located in the lobby area. Basic foods of salads, sandwiches, pizza and burgers. Didn't know they had a kids menu until we had placed our order and one of the workers (the one who didn't assist us) asked the family behind us if they wanted a kids menu. The bistro is only open during certain hours (breakfast and diner mainly. Grab and go snacks and some travel items available at the "market" next to reception. However, there are food options nearby as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

This place is so cool and not cool at the same time…read more.. Here's the bad stuff... 1. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

Here's an update…read more Grand Sierra Resort - Frustrating Stay Despite Being a Loyal Guest / 5 I have been coming to the Grand Sierra Resort annually for years -- once for my grandson's basketball tournament at the convention center, and again each July for a golf tournament. I consider myself a loyal, returning guest, which made this past weekend's experience all the more disappointing. When I checked in, the receptionist was genuinely kind and helpful -- a real bright spot. She offered me a room upgrade for $45 more per night and assured me she could place me on the same floor as my son, just down the hallway. I was excited. However, she then said she needed her manager's approval. The manager came over, barely acknowledged me, and flatly said no -- apparently reserving those rooms for other purposes. The receptionist apologized, but the damage was done. For a guest who returns here every year, that interaction felt dismissive and discouraging. The receptionist herself was wonderful, but the manager's handling of the situation left me feeling like my loyalty meant nothing. Later that evening around 8:30 PM, we headed back up to our room on the seventh floor and discovered that only one of the three elevators was operational. What followed was a 20-minute wait just to get on an elevator, packed in with other frustrated guests -- on a Saturday night, no less. Beyond the inconvenience, I couldn't help but think about what could happen in an emergency with two elevators out of service. That is a serious safety concern that management needs to address immediately. Outside of these issues, the rest of the stay was business as usual and accommodating. But given my history with this property, I expect better -- and loyal guests deserve better. I hope the Grand Sierra takes this feedback seriously before my next visit.

Despite recently going through a refurb it still felt old, tired, and already in need of a refresh. The bed was comfortable and clean, but you could clearly tell that dusting wasn't a priority for the cleaning staff. Also, the coffee maker was filthy. Furthering my refusal of using hotel-provided coffee makers. Water pressure and temperature out of the shower head was great, though. That's always a plus. The property is coming along nicely, though there's still plenty to do. I love the addition of several art pieces scattered about the lobby. The Neon Line, an urban trail of sorts, displays numerous art installations once featured at the Burning Man festival. Food options are actually quite decent, borderline good. Hanna's Table is good for quick sit down bite. For a nicer meal, you can't go wrong with signature steakhouse, J Paul's. While not the greatest steakhouse in town (that honor goes to Atlantis, in my opinion) it's still a solid option. We didn't try their buffet but I have heard a few good things. Overall, we had a good time at J Resort. They still need to finish the refresh on their pool as well as the addition of another restaurant and bar, but there isn't enough construction going on that would interfere with your stay. I'd definitely come back once they're all done.

I can't speak to the rooms on the lower price range, but what I got, was absolutely amazing…read more I was here on Cinco de Mayo, but because it was a Tuesday, the rates were very reasonable. I have "status", so I was offered an upgrade to a spa suite, for a very reasonable price. The price range, of course depends on what day of the week it is, as well if there are any events going on, but even at full price, that spa suite is well worth the splurge. I was checked in by Claudia, and she was very friendly and helpful. My room was in the tower that is connected to the main casino. I was on the fifth floor. The view during the daytime wasn't much, but at night time and sunrise, it was very pretty. I walked into the room, and I couldn't believe it! I had actually gotten a two room suite it was a beautiful suite. The living room had 2 very comfortable couches. One of them had a hide-a- bed in it, or you could just sleep across the couch. it had a mini bar that had a Keurig on it, there were two TVs, with a good picture and lots of channels, as well as the movies for rent, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and there were also two bathrooms. The bathroom attached to the living room does not have a tub or shower. There was also a huge closet. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The bed was a bit firm for my personal taste, but I still got an OK nights sleep. I do realize that everybody's taste is different. I had to laugh when I saw the Jacuzzi tub. It was heart shaped. That tells me that this "spa suite" doubles as the honeymoon/romantic getaway suite. The Jacuzzi tub was amazing! It filled up quick, and it was so absolutely relaxing. My body was just melting away. I sat in that thing for almost a half hour, and when I got out, I went to sleep very quick. My only regret, is that I didn't have a special someone to share it with. (for those of you who have met me, I apologize for putting that image into your brain. Please, I beg of you, let it go... LET IT GO...... :) Circus Circus is a nice property, like the El Dorado and Silver Legacy, it is a Caesars property. The casino is nice, they have a midway with lots of fun games for the kids, and also live circus acts. There is plenty to do. You can walk between all three properties without ever going outside, and there is plenty of gaming, bars with different themes, and lots of restaurants throughout all three properties ...The food court is just OK. I didn't care for the habit burger place, but I thought that the pizza place was amazing. (see separate reviews.) Just a great stay. Thanks!

The elevators are still tucked away and very hidden and every single pair of escalators we found had one side broken so you had to just wander around until you found an elevator or a working escalator. There were also random 1 way escalators scattered about which was off The actual elevators in the main lobby were a nightmare. No matter if there were a lot of people or nobody, they would take forever to come down (and I believe one was broken). There was a time in particular there were 20-30 people all waiting around for the elevator. I asked an employee where the stairs were (since I was on the second floor). It took two employees to even figure out if there were stairs, and then I had to wait around for security (who never came) in order to go up them. The room, while decently clean and modern, was missing hand soap, and the AC rattled extremely loud when the compressor would turn on. I finally figured out I could jam a pillow in between the bed and AC to keep it quiet. Throughout the stay, the front desk people were very unhelpful, either not knowing anything, or just saying "yeah I can't help, go ask the bell hop". The only saving grace was the midway, which while expensive, was a nice little break for people like us with little kids.
