My coworker introduced me to this spot for their drinks, and i've been hooked ever since. I always go for their classic milk tea, and it never disappoints. Soft boba and not overly sweet. It doesn't leave that weird sugary aftertaste like some other places do. I also recommend trying their Yakult green tea with lychee jelly and strawberry heart heart jelly. It's very refreshing. Unexpectedly delectable despite the low ratings and reviews online, and how my order looked like. I ordered one poke bowl with unagi, half rice and half greens, spicy mayo, and everything included for the rest. I was disappointed on the presentation but then I realized it was so so good! Generous unagi portion and the sauce is so tasty. This place is located in a busy plaza of Vintage Oaks with plenty of parking. I ordered a to-go and picked it up inside. Aloh-o offers a variety of deliciously. fresh poke bowls, hot bento boxes, sushi rolls and milk teas. They have spots in the Marin and Sonoma County as well. I so happened to make a random visit in their most recent location in the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in Novato. Aloh-o offers a variety of ways to order: online, in-store kiosk, pen/paper or with the cashier. I used the kiosk and opted for the Tuna, Scallop and bowl of half white rice and greens. I topped my meal off with my favorite, Thai Tea! This location was pretty cool since it offered my Japanese snacks as a kid, such as: Yan-yan, Pocky (pretzel sticks), Strong Potato chips and Hi-Chew, The Novato location is pretty cozy (can seat about 8-10 people) and there is plenty of room to shop for snacks and either order at the kiosk and the table (for pen/paper orders). Considering the fresh, sizable portions of food you could get at $16.95, Aloh-O place gets a solid 4 (out of 5) stars!....Next time I'm gonna try their "Hot" items, Unagi and Beef Sukiyaki! I was passing through Novato and decided to try this poke spot. I like how there's an order sheet you fill out and hand to the cashier when you're ready rather than choose everything as they go. The price and size were average, however the fish quality was not favorable- I got the salmon and it definitely looked and tasted far from fresh, similar to grocery store sushi and the bowl was soggy with sauce. Food: 3.5/5 I had the Wintermelon green tea with boba (no option to adjust sugar but it was perfectly not too sweet and boba was fresh and chewy). My bowl had two proteins salmon and tuna. It was filling but not the freshest fish. I thought my bowl was yummy and even had to finish the other half at home because of how full I got. Service: 2/5 I was the only customer, so I was a bit confused about having to fill out an order card. The tea I wanted was on the display menu but not listed on the card. I've been wanting to check out this spot for a while now because Poke and why not? It's pretty good. Not drop everything I'm doing and go there good but pretty good. The genius of this place is the speed. I went there with a friend and our daughters for a Daddy/Daughter double lunch date. It was a nice and clean place which is always nice. They also offer some asian snacks and noodle bowls to go. We all ordered a round of Poke Bowls and Mango Milk Tea. Both were delicious and I was amazed at the speed it came out. I got a mix of salmon and Spicy Tuna. If you like spicy food I would recommend getting a spicy sauce. Just a FYI. This place is great because it offers ALL the sides. Corn, jalapeno's, onions, etc etc. It's a nice touch. To limit mistakes I might recommend filling out the order form instead of verbally ordering. Something odd though was we got 2 boba drinks and only 1 came with ice. It wasn't a big deal but I thought that was odd. Will I go back? Absolutely. See you there! read more

This location had just a grand opening last October 1, 2022 about 8 days ago. It is an American-Japanese fast food as well as Bubble Tea. My son ordered me the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl with white rice. Chicken were bland and dried. For a teriyaki dish it was lacking of the sauce. For $10.95 its not worth it. The bowl was deep that contained more rice but chicken pieces were dpread out on top but not smothered with sauce. I had the Lychee Fruit Tea which tasted watered down with no lychee flavor as I expected it to have. It had a fleshy lychee fruit which tasted stale, can't taste it hmmm the lychee flavor. I hope the teriyaki will have more sauce!!! read more

Aloh-o makes great poke bowls, this place stands out as a bright spot in an endless sea of burger places and Mexican food restaurants (not knocking either, I love those too :) ) The menu is... huge, so definitely take some time to fill out your order slip. This place is clean, spacious, and the right wall is filled with an assortment of delicious Asian snack foods. One of the few places I've been able to find the red bean cakes I used to get in the Philippines or Taiwan. Worth a stop. read more

It doesn't even have an actual kitchen, so they don't offer most of the menu items from other Aloho-s like San Rafael or Santa Rosa: You want gyoza? Nope, they don't offer them here. Avocado rolls? They don't have that either. Chicken katsu? No. Tempura? No. Spring rolls? No. Ramen? No. Nigiri? No. Bento combo box? No. And so on, you get the idea. It's like someone inexplicably said, "Let's open another Aloh-o in Novato, but why not wreck the brand by making this one suck!". "Great idea!". The menu is basically milk teas and a few bowl options assembled by the only person working here. When you're sitting next to Nick the Greek and Chipotle, you can't compete with a vastly reduced menu and no real kitchen. A disappointment. read more

My daughter loves their jasmine and honey boba teas (their Thai tea boba is ok - I prefer Pearl's Thai tea boba). So we decided to try their poke: Daughter said her chicken teriyaki bowl was a little dry but tasted fine. I ordered the hot beef yakitori poke with 1/2 rice 1/2 lettuce and additional veggies with sesame sauce. When I opened the container I was surprised to see ramen on top. Upon closer inspection, this was the "beef" fat. I separated the fat from the very thinly sliced beef (pictures attached) and it was about 10% meat and 90% fat!! If you enjoy poke don't come here. I never review restaurants on yelp but I went here today after going a couple times in the past & remember the poke being okay. My bowl today was so bad I couldn't even finish it. Way too much spicy mayo it was flooded with it. This fish seemed very bad quality (I got spicy tuna and yellow tail). Excited to have a poke place nearby and finally tried it and boy what a disappointment. This was the worst poke bowl I've ever had. Ordered two proteins, tuna and salmon, barely any salmon put into the bowl. I had to dig in to find some. Spicy mayo was a strange consistency, very thick and way too much. A lot of rice to add bulk to your bowl., cover up by skimping on other toppings. When you typically go into a poke place, you see the fish and toppings in front of you. Chipotle style set up. Makes it easier and nicer to see what your getting yourself into. Save your money and stomach. Never never, what a bummer. Poke bowl with two proteins, $16. Wouldn't get it for $5. I stopped by, not realizing they had opened and ordered the Raspberry Strawberry Tea with rainbow lychee. The drinks was good, it wasn't too sweet and they didn't pack the drink with ice so you'll get a lot of tea for what you pay for. I did give 4 stars since the drink did taste a little watered down but since I don't like overly sweet drinks, it was fine for me. I am so disappointed! We purchased poke bowls last night and I don't what went wrong, but they filled 1/3 of my bowl with edamame and very little fish. The pic shows what is left AND I ate edamame with every single bite. Will not be returning unless I eat there and can return on the spot.
