We were referred to Dr. Gulliver by a friend when we were searching for someone to evaluate a large lump on her front leg. By that point, I had lost confidence in our previous veterinary clinic. There were constantly different young veterinarians, and we could never see the same doctor consistently. I realized how much I value continuity of care, especially for a senior pet. From our very first visit, I knew in my gut that Dr. Gulliver was the real deal. He's incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, compassionate and an outstanding surgeon. He tested & diagnosed the large lump as cancerous and successfully removed it the following week. Knowing he regularly performs surgeries gave us great confidence that she was in skilled hands. She is cancer free today. Since then, Dr. Gulliver has been our dog's veterinarian. He's cared for her through UTIs and has been thorough about running tests to evaluate her kidneys and liver whenever something didn't seem right. A special thank you also goes to Jamie, the office manager. She keeps the office running smoothly, is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely cares about every patient and their family. The rest of the staff are equally kind, friendly and compassionate. If you're looking for an experienced veterinarian who combines expertise with genuine heart, I highly recommend Dr. Gulliver and the entire team at Leeward Pet Clinic. Since the pandemic it seems that the veterinary care I have received in Hawaii has been somewhat impersonal. I was surprised by Dr. Gulliver's highly personal and patient treatment style. He explains everything thoroughly and is caring rather than pushy. My cat and I were stressed when we arrived but Dr. Gulliver and his staff put all of us at ease. Customer service is not as great as it used to be. There are currently only 2 original drs that still remain with this practice from the beginning. Prices have gone up like everything else. This clinic was one of the most affordable vets to get your pets looked at. Making appts on the app is great, but you can never get a same day appt when you call unless you pay the higher walk in fee! Little disappointed with customer service and sad that all my dog drs are no longer at this practice.

A nail trim with buff is $35, and tipping isn't expected, which is another plus. They also offer a 5% military discount, which helps bring the price down. Beyond nail care, we've visited Hale Ola Pet Hospital for a teeth cleaning estimate, veterinary care when my dog had a large bump on her neck, and a microchip procedure. This place is AMAZING!…read more We recently brought our beloved Fånihi to Kapolei Pet Hospital after he suddenly developed IVDD overnight. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Fånihi brought so much happiness, love, and joy into our lives, and having to make such a difficult decision was one of the hardest things our family has ever faced. From the moment we walked through the doors until Fånihi took his last breath, the entire staff treated him with so much love, compassion, and respect. They were gentle, informative, and incredibly caring, not only toward him but also toward our family. During one of the most painful moments of our lives, they made us feel like they truly loved him too. When we received his cremation ashes, they included beautiful keepsakes that meant the world to us: prints of his nose, mouth, and paw, along with a heartfelt condolence card signed by everyone in the clinic. They even included an extra set of his nose and paw prints. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail were beyond anything we expected, and we will treasure those memories forever. Our family will always be grateful to Dr. Yoko and Mindy. Mindy was incredibly gentle and kind with our sweet boy, reassuring us every step of the way that he would be treated with the utmost care and dignity. We walked Big Momma around the neighborhood to get to know her and then popped her into the car. We took her a dog friendly beach, then a North Shore poke spot for lunch (where Big Momma lounged on their deck while we ate) and then over to Matsumoto's for shaved ice for us, and a pup cup of unflavored shaved ice for Big Momma , and then a quick stop at the Dole pineapple plantation before heading back to the Oahu SPCA. Big Momma was super well-behaved, and we all had a blast taking her out for the day.
