Great customer service on the phone. They will answer any questions without making you feel ignorant. (Even if the questions are) They tell you what time to arrive with cargo, when it will leave Oahu and when it will land on the outer islands. Also, inform you what time the cargo is ready to be picked up on the other end of the trip. The cost for my pet to travel to Maui was 1/3 cheaper than a regular airline ticket, so that's a bonus. They are committed to pets traveling safely, so that makes an anxious pet owner feel more confident. They are to ones to go to, if you are sending pets inter-island. Aloha Cargo.. There's Nothing (Aloha) about this cargo company.. Warning Dont be fooled by the pix .. I was helping out a friend in Hilo, shipping out a used Tacoma transmission, I drained out all the fluids an pressure washed the transmission then wrapped it with seramic wrap then crank strapped it to a pallet.. My friend out in Hilo said he talked to a women on the phone who said as long as nothing is leaking an its wrapped up an strapped to a pallet they can ship it out to him. I pulled up to Aloha cargo at 12pm.. Warn you go early.. make sure you pull a ticket 1rst then get your paperwork filled out from the counter to the the left of the entrance area. There was about 4 people ahead of me.. The counter staff were super laid back an talked story with all the customers.. So this went on till around 12.38pm then it was my # getting called the lady at the counter said ohh you gotta fill out the paperwork 1rst.. (my fault right!) I was like okay shootz feeling stupid an she gave me a pen an said I'll help you when your ready.. She must of went on Lunch cause she vanished.. I had to grab another ticket an the other counter guys were talking story again with the customers.. So at 1.30pm it was my turn again. An the guy behind the counter tells me they only ship brand new transmissions only.. ! OMG all that time waisted!! Aloha cargo it's time to trim the fat with your employees.. Looze Money Big time!!! So if your shipping car parts the guy at the counter said they Only Ship Brand New!!! The wait is super long.. Counter help moves like slugs with salt poured on them.. If u try to work here read this!!!!! I have an acquaintance who's working in the back side of aloha air cargo for couple years. If you are trying to get a job from here be careful there's a 17-19 yo? local girl who drives forklift crazy with the blades lifted around ppl's neck height. Your neck is gonna be chopped off. And the manager sees it but ignores it. He probably won't care if u get hurt from it. I hope the job trainer trained the young immature girl well especially in the situation that she has to handle a dangerous giant vehicle. When I heard that I was kinda upset for workers who have to deal with the company's procrastination. Do you want to work at the place who doesn't take care of everybody's safety? I wrote this from a worker side but imagine. I heard that there are some crazy drivers don't care the inside of your package and it's obvious that they'll treat your packages like sh*t. I read a lot of mixed reviews on Aloha Air Cargo before deciding to go to the office feel out their customer services. My initial visit was to find out what I needed to do to ship items from Oahu to the mainland via pallet. The gentleman at the desk was very kind and informative. They told me exactly what I needed to do, where I could pick the pallet up, how to stack it, and what the process was. I actually took a pallet home and staged it in the garage so I knew how the puzzle would fit. Then I simply returned and filled the pallet up on-site, plastic wrapped it and they picked it up with a forklift. Overall the experience was wonderful and easy. My shipment arrived at LAX without any issues and I actually had a shipment company pick it up and take it to my final destination. I would highly recommend Aloha Air Cargo for anyone who is looking to ship items off island. I would highly recommend this method for a military DITY or household goods! read more

I had to ship an item to the Big Island and was a little concerned about the cost. The shipped equipment weighed about 127 pounds which in itself was already difficult for me to manage on my own. But once I got to their facility, I was not only greeted with aloha but had a lot of help getting the item from my (borrowed) truck to inside the warehouse! Happy that Aloha Air still has it (aloha) and the shipping price wasn't as bad as I thought too! Mahalo to those Aloha Air Cargo employees. You guys are truly special! read more

Horrible customer service. Arrived early to pick up an overnight shipment. The lady in the office was nice but once we went to the loading dock we waited for 30 minutes without anyone helping us. I rang the buzzer and 3 workers looked at me and ignored me. They didn't look busy. Finally the office lady came out and saw that nobody helped us and had to tell one of her workers to come help us. He grabbed our 3 boxes with the forklift and then just dropped the pallet at our trunk. The boxes were heavy and there was only two of us girls to load it but he didn't even bother to help us. I'm guessing he was upset because the office lady told him to help us. Maybe they were short handed or busy (didn't seem like it) but we only had 3 boxes and none of the guys on the dock said one word to us! Ugh. read more

Very Impressed with the Service that I received. I was assisted by a Gentleman named "GUY" He was very Helpful, Informative, and Friendly. This was my First time sending cargo through Aloha Air Cargo, and was not sure as to the procedures involved in sending a shipment. "GUY" went out of his way.... He helped me fill out the required form, and even assisted me in bringing in my BIG BOX from the car, into the Shipment Office. Can't say Thank You enough!!! Used aloha air cargo for interisland dog shipping. Counter ladies were helpful, but the office was closing and we had to go back to the cargo pickup area and wait. Service there was awful. Employees just shoved things in our face and expected us to know what to do with it without saying a word. Lots of pointing and eventually some verbal but unclear instructions. Once we finally understood what was expected of us and got ourselves back outside to wait for my dog to come out, we find out theyve already taken him back inside. We go back inside. Employees look irritated at us but do some more pointing. Luckily I spotted my dog headed back out the door (still not one word from employees) and run outside to meet him. His kennel is on top of a pallet on a forklift, not strapped down, and the driver is speeding down the road to where we are parked so fast I couldnt keep up, even running (who knew forklifts moved that fast?). With my unsecured dog, on a pallet, on a bumpy road. I was learning their language at this point so i pointed at my car. The forklift driver hastily dumped my dog and the pallet behind my car and was gone before I could even reach them. Dont ship your dog with them!! read more

I needed to ship a cello from Los Angeles to Oahu, and the usual UPS and Fedex rates were ridiculous. Aloha Air Cargo saved the day!. My phone contact person Christine was first rate, she was very friendly, helpful, and kept me informed in a timely manner throughout the whole process. I am a small business owner (surfboards and paddle boards) in Hawaii. I started shipping with Aloha Air Cargo about 27 or 28 years ago. Through the years they have swayed back and forth from charging customers, shipping surfboards, based on dimensional weight to number of surfboards in box. Dimensional weight is standard in the shipping industry. Calculating cost based on number of surfboards in box is non existent in the shipping industry, except for Aloha Air Freight. I do think it is silly to charge a customer per piece, weather it be t shirts, car parts, or surfboards. Silly or not I have tried to give my business to a local company based on one pricing method or the other. The problem I have is the sudden price changes after I have driven one hour to drop my packages. Aloha Air Cargo has costed me in my bottom line and has waisted much of my valuable time. Today went to drop a boxed up surfboard at Aloha Air Cargo. I was told by an agent at Aloha Air Cargo that he did not believe there was one surfboard in my box and wanted to open the box. I find this completely unprofessional and extremely degrading as a long term customer. I have built 30 years of solid relationships with my suppliers, customers, and everyone else who Help make my business work. I will no longer consider Aloha Air Cargo as one of my partners, I will never use them again. Within our state of Hawaii I will use Young Brothers and mainland shipping will be with Hawaiian Air Cargo and Fed Ex. read more

I picked up 5 huge boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts this past Sat. We ordered 225 dozens from Krispy Kreme in Maui for a fundraiser. Got there around 6:30am. There was 1 customer in front of me. Counter service was fairly quick. No complains there....but when the worker came with the forklift, he just dropped the pallet in back of my mini-van, turned around and left before I had a chance to get a word out. My trunk was opened and I was standing there thinking he was going to come back to help me. NOPE...no such luck. Each of these boxes were approximately 70+ pounds. I was able to get 4 boxes in my van but had to stack the 5th box on top the others. I tried but there was no way I could do this by myself. After waiting for a little while, I saw a guy wearing a security vest walking towards the front door. I thought it was a worker so I asked him if he can help me. He said sure, but wanted to let me know he does not work for Aloha Air Cargo. He helped me move the pallet to the next stall so I can reverse. OMG! This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I'm definitely calling their manager to file a complaint. read more
