Recently ordered an arrangement for my friend whose mom sadly passed away. I was told I would get a picture of the arrangement before being delivered, but that never happened until after the fact. Then there was NO personal message nor did the flowers say who they were from! She had to call the shop to ask. I ordered flowers for my Mother and Grandmother for Mother's Day. I did the (Florist's Choice) option for both of them, and hoped for the best. I got a call on Mother's Day from Simi Valley Flowers, informing me that the address I had put in must've been incorrect, because it was an abandoned business building where they ended up. I called my Grandma immediately and got the right address from her (she had given me the address of her old business). I was under the impression that because it was late in the day, they were going to have to just deliver it the following day, but he drove right over to the correct address (which was pretty far) and delivered them promptly. Aloha Flowers is the best florist I have ever used. They always go above and beyond in every interaction I have ever had with them. I buy random arrangements for my wife as surprise "I love you's" and they make it seem even more special. She has a favorite flower (stargazer lilies) and when they haven't had them they've gone and gotten them for me, and still delivered them on the same day! Their arrangements are beautiful, and always way more than you expect for what you are paying. I'll start off that the flowers were beautiful. When I called, they seemed great and wanted to work with me and said they would flowers to my fiancé personally to a restaurant at her birthday dinner at the time I needed. Cathy asked for my mother in laws number to contact her before showing up to find them in the restaurant. She never called or texted her, and no one returned my calls before the delivery, I only got a text reply. Than they left the flowers at the front desk, a little later than expected and never told us they were delivered so they ended up getting the flowers just before they left. Very disappointing knowing I've been away from home for 6 months and it's the little things that keep us going strong. You guys need to work on you're communication. read more

I'm very late in doing this review, as my son didn't want me to, but I think it's only right to warn people. I'd NEVER use this florist. My son ordered me flowers for Valentine's Day and they never delivered them, nor informed him they weren't going to deliver them. The shop closed for 2 days after Valentine's Day, so he couldn't contact them until the Friday after. Valentine's Day was on a Tuesday. They did ultimately deliver the flowers, and refunded my my son the money, after first telling him the flowers were in fact delivered, without their first assuming he was correct and telling him they'd look into it. They did, however, find that the flowers never were delivered. When finally delivered, the tulips looked like they were crammed into a vase, with no attempt to make them even look a nice arrangement. Plus several of the tulips were clearly old, completely open, and damaged, with petals hanging off the flowers in some of them. The attached pictures were taken immediately after I received them. The one picture, from their site, shows what the arrangement SHOULD HAVE been. Pretty laughable, sadly. The whole experience was really very disappointing and extremely unprofessional. I know from personal experience that Valentine's Day is insane in a flower shop, but if they weren't able to do what was promised, that being delivering a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the day promised, then a phone call should have been made to my son, explaining they were overwhelmed and couldn't make the delivery, and that would have at least shown good business mentality and care for their customer, FORMER customer, and intended recipient, and would have made the situation understandable, perhaps. And they should have come in the following day and arranged and delivered the flowers. As a mom, I felt really bad for my thoughtful son. He paid $75 (though reimbursed, to be fair), including a delivery charge of $18, for sad-looking tulips that arrived 3 days after Valentine's Day, and at the VERY END of that Friday, as they were delivered at 5:30 that evening! I mean, seriously? Had he not contacted them, would they have even eventually contacted him, then arranged and delivered the flowers? I think not, though I can't say for sure. This is just a business I would advise people to avoid, sorry. read more

Visited all the way from Los Angeles and boy am I glad I did! This place is full of little gems and treasures. For 60 dollars, you can get an immaculate and fragrant arrangement of flowers. It was truly a beauty. Kathy worked really hard on the arrangement and I'm very appreciative of the time and care she gave to make the arrangement. Over a hundred bucks for a poorly made, sad looking arrangement. I had to take time to peel off the outside old looking pedals and move the flowers around to make it look HALF WAY decent. Terrible Experience! Wish I had read the recent negative reviews here initially before giving Kathy any money for my mom's funeral at St. Rose. Flowers for a funeral are not cheap, after checking with the funeral home and a few other flower shops, the going price for a 3 piece arrangement (casket spray and 2 side arrangements) was $500-600. I met with Kathy a week before the funeral and discussed creating a 3 piece arrangement using bright yellow roses (my mom's favorite) and we agreed on a cash price of $520. She claimed to specialize in funeral flowers (website and biz card) and that all her roses were "fresh" and flown in from Ecuador and treated in her store to make them last even longer, what a load of BS that turned out to be. Kathy sends me a text at 9PM the night before the funeral to say she doesn't have the right cage to make one of the shapes I requested and that even if she did it would be too heavy for her to carry since she was working alone that week and needed to do a wreath shape instead (the only shape I didn't want)?? I didn't really have another option with the last minute notice so I had to say ok. Then what's delivered to the church is far from what was discussed and on my receipt. Instead of the yellow roses being the dominant flower, she used a majority of white roses on all the arrangements. The yellow roses that were there were not fresh, they were open and outside petals were wilted and falling off. The wreath actually had more yellow daises than yellow roses and the coffin spray was tiny, looked like a table setting for a small table and nothing like the pictures on her site and every other shop's advertised coffin spray. I waited a few days before contacting her by phone and genuinely was wondering what had happened, thinking she may have had some issues on her end that caused the changes and last minute notice, that's when she became super defensive and rude and hung up on me. We then preceded to text and she apologized for her phone behavior and said it was a bad time for her. She asked me to send her pictures of the arrangements and she would get back to me. No surprise that never happened ... so Kathy, congrats, as promised here is your stellar review, I've never had a bad enough customer experience to sign up for YELP until now. Imagine losing a loved one and then having to deal with someone so toxic. SMH read more

I need a last minute floral Hawaiian leis to great a cousin arriving on a plane from Europe and Aloha Flowers in Simi came to the rescue with flying colors. A real live human being answered the phone (how often does that happen anymore?) and agreed to make the leis immediately! So friendly and helpful on the phone and the leis is colorful and gorgeous!
