Everything is fresh and it takes 20 minutes to wait for your order if you ordered to-go. I dont know how it is if you dine-in but the way I saw it with other costumers, they seem satisfied. The fried tilapia is pretty fresh and crispy, delicious escabeche with octopus, a little on the spicy side though. Their fish tacos are pretty good, crispy and good portions, I've tasted better. Place is clean, staff are kind and helpful. Service is good. Parking can be challenging since they have a small lot shared with other local stores. I would come back for the fresh fish. read more

The ambiance was lively with upbeat Spanish music with some cold drinks on this hot day! Hubby got the campechana and I got the ceviche tostada and some yummy rolls! The Campechana was very filling with around 8 shrimps and 3oysters, abalone, and octopus and more! The rolls are pretty big and the portions are above average! This is my go to spot for ceviche tostadas. Fresh and scrumptious! They do not taste fishy at all. The first time I ate here, I had to wash my clothes and hair because the smell permeated both So, just beware that you might smell like a fish market if you sit inside for an hour or two. Wow that an amazing hidden gem. We came for dinner for the first time and it could not have been a better experience. We had no clue there was sushi also offered so that was a great surprise! We ordered ceviche and it was so refreshing. They have a house made salsa that paired with the ceviche perfectly. We ordered and then found a table luckily. Seating is limited so if there isn't seating next time I have no problem taking this to go! The quality of food was amazing and the staff is so kind. The sushi chef is incredible! We were blown away by this hidden gem! As you first pull into the parking lot, you'll question if you are in the right place. The faded window sign isn't very visible, but it does have the business name on it. Upon entering, it is set up like a fish market with a small seating area and a small sushi bar area. You order first before finding a place to sit. We ordered some fish tacos and ceviche tostadas. We grabbed our drinks from the fridge and sat at the sushi bar top. The sushi chef greeted us and asked if we needed anything. As we waited for our food, the kitchen started bringing out complimentary appetizers for everyone in the restaurant. It looked like a jalapeño popper, but it was filled with different types of fish, and the exterior was tempura. The appetizer was sooooo good! It was our first time there, so we asked the sushi chef about the restaurant and the menu options. He was very knowledgeable and made some recommendations for next time. He even gave us some of the Toro sashimi to try, and it was AMAZING. Our food finally came out, and it was excellent! The portions were large, and everything was delicious. We only had the fish tacos and the ceviche but I think if either of those are even slightly mid at a mariscos joint then I wouldn't return. Both were excellent! Big portions, fish was tender and perfectly fried with a big crunch, salsa was on point. The ceviche was also delish and tasted fresh. Food took only 15 minutes from the time we ordered. I thought this was a little neighborhood fish market. Well, technically it is. But only for limited choices of seafood, like shrimp, mojarra, imitation crab. They sell it raw, or prepare it for you in various forms. We ate on premises. Seating consists of 5 tables well spaced apart. The ambiance? Pffft. None. You are eating in the extended kitchen/fish market and smelling the aroma of fried fish. But my, my, my was I surprised. The ceviche is a combination of ground imitation crab and ground shrimp. Chopped tomatoes, cilantro, and lots of red onion and lime juice make it downright perfect for me. My single order ran about $6. The shrimp cocktail was a beautiful sight. Arranged on base of chopped cucumber, onion, tomato, were 12 medium shrimp. It came in a pretty, glazed pottery bowl, finished with two cucumber spears dipped in chile powder and a nice chunk of avocado. Priced at $12. A separate basket of tostadas and saltine crackers came with those two dishes. We could not resist trying the fish tacos. These are nice portion of fish filet, deep fried in the Baja style, topped with chopped cabbage, then drizzled with mayonnaise and guacamole sauces. The wedges of lime are the finishing touch, and were very juicy. I think the fish is likely a fresh mojarra, very good tasting and not greasy. We ordered 3 of these @$3.25 each. Serve yourself beverages from the free-standing refrigerator. How did one bottle of cerveza, Modelo Especial, sneak in our order? At the end, you pay at the counter. Our bill totaled around $35 without tip. Not bad folks! Too bad I have not tried this sooner. read more

Living in Corona the past few years, tried quite a few of the mainstream sushi places, and have to say, that Pescaderia El Golfo has the best taste, quality, and ingredients out of all of them. All of the employees are extremely helpful and kind. The sushi chef makes excellent dishes all around and definitely is a master of his trade. Shrimp tostada civiche, fish tacos, all the sushi rolls are all prepared fresh and never has that "old fish" taste at all vs most of the other "established" seafood/sushi restaurants in and near Corona. Another surprising and memorable experience was the front man actually remembered our previous order from a month ago. Cannot wait to return to try other items in the menu like the fried fish, shrimp cocktails, sautéed garlic tilapia, and many other items. It's a hole in the wall location but it delivers quality seafood. The pricing is fair for amounts they serve compared to most places. This place gets packed and I believe they have reduced hours so they close very early I believe by 3 they're closed at least on Sundays. This place not only sells Mariscos but they also have a sushi bar. The place is overall clean not messy but not the nicest looking inside.
