    Assortment

Delicious, great service and busy due to Valentine's Day but everything was amazing. We got an assortment and everything was perfect!

If you been to Japan or any other real japanese restaurant don't go here. You're in for a big dissapoinment. I would not recommend this to any one the sushi was horrible. The only rolls I get when I go out for sushi to test them out is the Philadelphia roll and the California roll... You know why, because these are the easiest to mess up. If you can't make these to the standard that it should be you're not on my list of places to go. Trying to mask Chilean Trout fish as salmon is a big no no, and to make matters worse if it stinky fish smelling then it's probably been sitting outside of refrigeration for a long time. My experience was unfortunate. Save yourself time money and avoid a bad experience. There are grocery stores in town that have way better sushi than here. Also if it was my restaurant I would fire everyone and get a chef that knows how to make sushi to begin with. I have added pictures of the two take out rolls, that I purchased and it was just sad. I see other peoples pictures and they spicy tuna roll, philadeliphia rool and california rolls didn't look textbook and that's a shame. I know how to make my own sushi and this place was down right nasty and disgusting. I had to spit out the sushi immediately. That's all I have to say about this experience. Don't go there, go wherever else.

    Spicy seafood udon, nigiri sushi

It's not a big storefront, and the sign is pretty small outside, but the inside as welcoming and the food is great. We had the softshell crab roll, several pieces of Nigiri sushi, and I had the spicy seafood udon which was fantastic. Just the right amount of moderate spice, well prepared seafood, and a lovely broth. Just the ticket for a cold evening of a spring snowstorm.

I always love sushi and this place does provide quality fish, but at a somewhat high cost. I really wanted to try several kinds of sushi but it was just too expensive. I tried to look for a good value but the best I could find was the lunch bento box for $13. The sushi itself tasted pretty good but nothing special to it. I don't think it was worth the price. I am ambivalent about coming here again.

This place downtown by the riverwalk is lovely. It have a nice atmosphere and decor. Also, plenty of parking behind the building. The waitress was really attentive. The place was relatively full and the waitress didn't miss a thing. The sushi was delicious! The fish tasted fresh and the presentation was nice. But this place have to be the more expensive sushi place that we have ever tried. Oh well, quality fish came at a price ;)

Store ramen (like maruchan or nissan) with added mushrooms, white onions, zucchini, and beef tips

Not only the worst sushi I've ever had, but the worst restaurant I've ever gone to. The egg in the ramen was hard boiled not soft boiled, it wasn't pre soaked in sauce to add flavor and make it dark. The noodles Literally came from a 25 cent instant noodles pack from the store (the kind you make at home). The wasabi was blueish and tasted off. The fish meat part of the sushi was the worst part, it had brown and black spots where it had gone bad, some pieces of sushi were randomly cooked or dried up and cracked as if they left some of the raw fish too close to the grill. I barely ate anything for fear of getting a parasite. A health inspector needs to go to this place. (If you just want California roles and not raw fish, it will be gas station quality, the raw fish will probably make you sick)

Free soup and salad with lunch! We ordered seaweed salad as well

I love the the experience I had at Blue Ocean Sushi. My husband and I arrived for lunch weary from our travels and were pleasantly greeted by the lovely staff. We began our meal gushing over the menu which is filled with photos of the dishes. Our lunch included a miso soup and salad, complementary. We also ordered a seaweed salad which was as delicious as expected. Then we ate our four sushi rolls which were divine! The tuna, which is my favorite, was tasty and colorful. The prices here are a little higher than locations closer to the ocean as I am accustomed to, but considering this is in Pueblo it makes sense. Every bite was worth the money, thank you for such a tasty lunch and pleasant experience.

Sushi was just as good as most sushi restaurants I've been to, but the service was very abrupt, and unfriendly.

Ask the Community - Blue Ocean Japanese Restaurant

Do they have anything without rice (keto)?

Just order sashimi. It is the fish only without rice and probably a seaweed salad will fix you right up.

Do they have a all you can eat?

    No

I said a booth and then was asked if where she is sitting me ok. Never had someone ask me that before. I was handed a menu and told she'll be back after giving me a few minutes. I ordered a couple pieces of sushi (unagi and tamago), and also ordered the volcano and All American Roll from the chef's specialty rolls. Pros: Excellent service. I didn't feel rushed, even when they were getting busy for the lunch hour. Sushi tasted fresh and was prepared well. The presentation looked neat and professional. Even though it took a little bit to get all my orders in, I was happy they brought it out all at once. At least I didn't have several plates waiting to be brought or picked up. Came with 2 plates. The portion size was the right amount and the sushi didn't crowd the plate. I also ordered an ice tea and I can't believe how big the cup was. At least 24 oz. Cons: Really no big cons. Price was a little high with tip, so be aware that it can get pricey. Even for 1 person. Recommended? Absolutely. I'm not going to try the other sushi restaurant that got ok reviews. I know why this one got the rating it did. So happy to finally find a place close to where I live that I can go to when I want a sushi fix.

Very cute and clean dining area with open sushi bar. We were promtly greated and sat with our orders taken quickly. Bubble tea and sushi were delicious but the presentation was top tier! The dry ice adds a bit of fun to the experience which we loved. Will return when it's cooler for that ramen!
